“Hannah and James are heroes,” new media mogul Andrew Breitbart stated today as he addressed CPAC. Andrew Breitbart, founder of Breitbart.com and the “Big” sites (Big Hollywood, Big Government, and Big Journalism) addressed CPAC this morning. In September, Breitbart launched BigGovernment.com by releasing the undercover video done by James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles on ACORN. The scandal eventually prompted Congress to cut funding for ACORN.
Breitbart believes that exposing corruption in government is at the utmost importance. That is why on Wednesday Breitbart received the Reed Irvine Accuracy in Media Award, for his work on exposing ACORN. Today though he covered a variety of topics, everything from his college years in New Orleans, to the ACORN scandal. Breitbart had a message to send to the MSM. He stated, “Mainstream media, the gig is up!” The crowd erupted to that comment. A lot of the people here were very excited to see him speak at CPAC. They truly believe he is making a difference in journalism. A person I spoke with after the speech had said, “Thank God for Andrew Breitbart! He is definitely one of the most influential people in the media.”
Breitbart wants people to understand that anyone can expose corruption. That was a point that he has tried to drive home throughout his many appearances at CPAC events.
