Due to a legislative reporting error, H 4220 was not heard on Thursday, as originally intended. H 4220, introduced by Representative Mike Pitts (R-14), would permanently establish the tax holiday on firearms sales on the weekend following Thanksgiving, which is known as the Second Amendment Weekend. This bill should be taken up in two weeks, due to the General Assembly focusing its attention on the state budget next week. We also hope that the House Judiciary General Laws Sub-Committee will be able to take up H 3994. H 3994, introduced by Representative Garry R. Smith (R-27), would prohibit the establishment of any rules that would forbid the storing of firearms in a locked vehicle in parking lots.
