im feeling so lost with this diabetes…when I first was told i had type 2 i was stunned to say the least..the doc made me feel like there was no hope for me,then my reg doc did blood work and said we would try to bring it down with diet and exercise,I had the a1c test again and my numbers and I believe it was 6.2..just this past month I had another one done and I cant get the results until Feb..im just lost as to what is good to eat and whats bad..i see lots of recipes but most arent to my likinganother thing i dont get is after the last test he said my nunbers were good and i was nolonger a diabetic,i just dont understand..any thoughts apprecited..ty

The Prima 4028-S comes with the Global Positioning System (GPS), for vehicle- tracking, as a standard fitment.

The selection process is jointly administered by South Korea’s Ministry of Knowledge and Economy (MKE) and the KIDP.The Prima 4028-S is priced at Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).The truck with the trailer, costing Rs 31 lakh, is ideal for carrying cargo up to 40.2 tonnes of gross combination weight, according to Tata Motors.
The company says the new tractor-trailer is ideal for transporting goods such as cement, steel, and containers.
Tata Motors said that the Prima 4028-S tractor-trailer will be followed 3 other products in the tractor-trailer segment by end of the fiscal: Two 49-tonne tractor-trailers, and one 31-tonne tipper. All the three vehicles are BS-III-compliant and BS-IV- compliant.
The Prima range of trucks consists of around 10 major variants of tractor-trailers, multi-axle trucks, tippers, mixers as well as special-application vehicles
According to Tata Motors, the Prima 4028-S is a 40-tonne 266-PS (Cummins ISBE engine) tractor having a 9-speed ZF transmission; a matching trailer with new-generation brakes; as well as ABS and specialized axles for high-speed and heavy-duty applications.
Its cabin – spacious and airconditioned – is equipped with adjustable steering wheels, reclining seats, arm rests for the driver’s comfort, as also sleepers to make long-distance travel easy. These features, the automaker explained, have been incorporated for the sake of “longer and more trips” – to operate non-stop for long hours and also to cover a distance of over 700 kilometres a day.

Factors Worth Considering in Setting BG Targets

. . . In a prospective study, investigators followed 1321 nondiabetic adults to assess a possible relationship between the level of hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and the incidence of coronary heart disease.
Hemoglobin A1c measures the percentage of glycated hemoglobin in a patient’s red blood cells. The HbA1c value provides a picture of a person’s average blood glucose control for the previous 2 to 3 months. The normal range for HbA1c in people without diabetes is 4% to 6%. For diabetics, the American Diabetes Association recommends that the HbA1c be maintained at 7.0% or less.
The nondiabetic patients in the coronary heart disease study were followed for 8 to 10 years. In order to remove possibly confounding variables, when the data was analyzed, it was adjusted for age, race, sex, BMI, blood pressure, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides and smoking status. The adjustments for these risk factors allowed the investigators to examine whether hyperglycemia might provide an independent risk factor for coronary heart disease. They found that when HbA1c was below 4.6%, the adjusted data showed no apparent relationship between glycemic control and an increased risk of coronary heart disease. However, as the HbA1c rose above 4.6%, the adjusted data showed that not only did the risk of coronary heart disease rise, but it did so at an ever-increasing rate. The study found that the risk of coronary heart disease in nondiabetics rose 2.4-fold with every 1% increase in HbA1c above 4.6%.
Findings similar to those seen in both of these studies have also been reported by other investigators, and references can be found within each paper. However, it is important to remember that correlation does not equal causation. The relationship between increased blood glucose in nondiabetics and the incidence of cancer or the incidence of coronary heart disease may rest upon variables that are not as yet defined. However, it is worth noting that it may be important even for nondiabetics to keep an eye on their fasting blood glucose and their HbA1c.
I would also note that they’re talking about increases in relative risk, as opposed to absolute risk. Those of us who point that out when looking at studies of the association between statin therapies and reduction of cardiovascular risk need to be aware of it when used in other contexts, as well.

In the evening, she cooked sweet Pakoras (‘Gulgulas’) for her exclusive consumption apart from other things. She was about to break her fast when her son returned from the fields. He said to his mother : “Our neighbors are right. That lady confided in me the pretext you employ to eat choicest food items. While you offer me only dry bread! Now I shan’t stay with you. I shall leave this home for ever. Puzzled and dismayed, the old lady said: “My dear son, I keep these fasts only for your well-being. Don’t leave me alone in this old age.” But her son would not listen to her. As he was determined to leave home, the old lady finally said : “Do as you like. But do me one last favor. Take these til seeds with you. Sprinkle them around you whenever you sense any danger.” Accepting his mother’s advice the son moved on, leaving the house. Soon he reached a vast wilderness on the way. To his great consternation he spotted a lion standing close by. The son remembered his mother’s advice and took out some of the til seeds and sprinkled them around him, saying in his mind~lf my mother took her fasts for my well being, move the lion should away from my sight.” Lo and behold, the lion soon went away. And the soil”Carried on his journey. He thought that it was sheerly by chance that the lion had moved away.
All the men, there, were frightened. The last pot was removed gently. To their great surprise, the boy was sitting in it safe and in a. meditative posture. The til seeds around him had sprouted. Coming out of the pot the boy told the whole story which made the king stop the practice of human sacrifice and ordered his subjects to keep fast on all the fourth days of the waning moon. He then married off his daughter to the boy. When the boy was returning home with his bride, the neighbor saw the couple. She went to that old lady whose son that boy was, and said : “Your son is coming with a beautiful bride. He has a cartload of wealth. You receive them at the door.”The old lady said : “You were responsible for my son’s going into exile. Don’t ever pollute anyone’s mind like you polluted my son’s mind. It does good to no one.”
In the mean time the royal couple (the boy with his bride, the royal princess) reached home and both of them touched the old lady’s feet who ever kept fast for his son’s well being. The moral of this story is clear. Besides stressing on the need for keeping fast on this pious day it also warns against jealousy felt by the people at their neighbor’s peace and prosperity. Lord Ganesh is said to be the Lord who can remove all obstructions from one’s path to success. Hence his worship on Sankat Chauth. It is believed that keeping fast on this day ensures trouble less rest of the year for the performer. May Lord Ganesh shed his benign grace on every one .Related posts:

Midnight Meat Train
Next week may not offer any sure bets, but it has a bit of potential. The Australian production Daybreakers with Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill has a certain degree of promise. It’s kind of nice to see a vampire picture that isn’t a Twilight travesty and isn’t utter garbage like Transylmania. The trailer doesn’t look bad, but is certainly in the “could go either way” realm. The film’s twin brother directors Michael and Peter Spierig are an unknown quantity to me. What amuses me about this one is that it’s coming from Lionsgate as part of their latest new move to focus more on horror movies, which sounds a lot like their position pre-Joe Drake—the guy responsible for burying The Midnight Meat Train. I guess Mr. Drake’s insistence on “quality” pictures (which mostly seemed to mean more Tyler Perry) didn’t pan out so well. I’m not expecting much, but I’m intrigued.
Also up is Miguel Arteta’s Youth in Revolt. Now, Arteta hasn’t done much in the theatrical realm since the good, but not great, Jennifer Aniston vehicle The Good Girl. Plus, the film stars Michael Cera, who is going to have to work hard to win me over after Paper Heart and Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. (I didn’t see Year One and have no intention of changing that.) For that matter, he needs to prove he can play more than one character, which this offers him the chance of doing. I’m not optimistic, but I’m willing to give it a shot.

Estrutura da antiga ponte Afonso Pena, atingida por um dos tiros do canhão “Emílio”Única peça exposta no Museu Histórico Nacional do Rio de Janeiro que foi produzida em Uberlândia, o canhão “Emílio” foi decisivo em uma das últimas batalhas da Revolução de 1930, na divisa entre Minas Gerais e Goiás, na antiga ponte Afonso Pena.
Na primeira reportagem da série “Uberlândia na Revolução de 1930”, que o CORREIO publicará nas edições de domingo, o personagem principal é um canhão fabricado em Uberlândia e que já rodou várias cidades antes de ser adicionado ao acervo do Pátio dos Canhões do Museu Histórico Nacional, no Rio de Janeiro.
Fabricado na fundição da família Crosara, do patriarca e imigrante italiano radicado em Uberlândia, Cesário Crosara, na antiga rua da Estação, hoje avenida João Pessoa, o único canhão da tropa mineira na frente de batalha goiana foi um dos principais responsáveis pela rendição dos goianos em novembro de 1930.
Às margens do rio Paranaíba, mineiros e goianos se confrontaram na Revolução de 1930. Minas Gerais, Paraíba e Rio Grande do Sul apoiavam Getúlio Vargas na tentativa bem-sucedida de depor o presidente Washington Luís. O Triângulo Mineiro ficava entre dois estados inimigos, São Paulo e Goiás. As tropas voluntárias mineiras, em menor número, enfrentavam com espingardas winchester os soldados goianos, famosos pela excelente pontaria, e armados com fuzis.
Mas dois tiros do canhão “Emílio” ajudaram a alterar essa desigualdade numérica e de arsenal no fronte de batalha no rio Paranaíba. “O primeiro tiro para acertar a mira atingiu a igreja de Itumbiara. Itumbiara chamava Santa Rita do Paranaíba e a igreja era de Santa Rita dos Impossíveis ou dos Milagres. O tiro derrubou uma das duas torres da igreja. E o segundo tiro acertou o cabo de aço da ponte pênsil. A ponte arriou e o pessoal de Goiás levantou bandeira branca”, disse o engenheiro Rugles Crosara, 77 anos, um dos sete filhos ainda vivos de Cesário Crosara.

vivos de Cesário CrosaraO canhão “Emílio”, na verdade, era uma espécie de morteiro, fabricado com materiais improvisados e com a engenhosidade do italiano Cesário Crosara. Os Crosaras possuíam uma fundição e fábrica de máquinas e equipamentos para lavouras, montada em 1927, onde hoje é a avenida João Pessoa, em frente ao Terminal Central.
“Meu pai morou comigo até morrer, eu tinha a curiosidade de sempre ficar perguntando sobre a fabricação do canhão. Nas avenidas de Uberlândia havia postes de aço. Eram mais grossos e depois afinavam. O poste para fabricar o morteiro foi retirado de um local em frente ao Colégio Estadual Ginásio Mineiro, onde hoje é o Museu,”, disse Rugles Crosara, que nasceria cerca de dois anos após o encerramento do conflito na divisa com Goiás.
O poste seria só o primeiro elemento improvisado para a construção do armamento. “O papai pegou um tubo de oxigênio, ele era agente da White Martins, serrou e colocou o tubo de aço dentro do outro e encheu de chumbo para fazer um lastro, porque senão, quando a bala saísse, o canhão poderia ser jogado para trás”, disse o filho do inventor. Como não havia chumbo ou estanho suficiente para ser inserido na culatra do canhão, o capitão José Percival, que comandava militarmente as tropas revolucionárias no Triângulo Mineiro, requisitou os metais das tipografias uberlandenses.
Projéteis precisavam atravessar o rioAntes de seguir de caminhão até a frente de batalha na ponte Afonso Pena, divisa de Minas Gerais com Goiás, na localidade ainda denominada de Alvorada, atualmente Araporã, o canhão “Emílio” foi testado em Uberlândia, na região onde hoje fica o bairro Roosevelt.
Os testes serviam para verificar a pontaria e a capacidade de lançar as balas. O rio tinha cerca de 400 metros de largura e a distância entre os acampamentos goiano e mineiro era de aproximadamente 600 metros.
Antes de Cesário Crosara construir o canhão, os militares pensaram em utilizar uma espécie de catapulta para atingir as tropas inimigas do outro lado do rio. “Eles queriam fazer uma atiradeira com pneu de trator, mas não alcançava esta distância (600 metros)”, disse Rugles Crosara.

avôUma das curiosidades do canhão “Emílio” contada pelo engenheiro Rugles Crosara, um dos filhos de Cesário Crosara, inventor do armamento, é que o canhão disparava um projétil, mas se escutavam dois tiros. “Os goianos ficavam impressionados. Porque todo canhão dá só um tiro, mas esse dava dois tiros, porque o primeiro era da pólvora que estava dentro para empurrar a dinamite”, disse Crosara. ”As balas foram feitas usando lata de soda, igual lata de leite em pó. Furava a tampa e colocava dinamite, em volta da latinha colocava grampo de cerca, prego, parafuso ou pedaço de chapa cortado para estilhaçar.”
Rugles Crosara não sabe ao certo a razão de o canhão ter sido batizado como “Emílio”, mas tem um palpite. “O segundo filho do papai chamava-se Emílio Valentim.”
Peça passou por vários museusEncerrada a Revolução de 1930, o canhão “Emílio” foi levado para Juiz Fora, na Zona da Mata, sede das forças revolucionárias em Minas Gerais. A história do armamento é cheia de idas e vindas. Segundo o livro “Araporã, Terra da Esperança”, da escritora Maria Honório de Castro, o canhão foi incorporado ao Museu de Belo Horizonte, depois ficou exposto por um período na entrada do Museu do Ipiranga, em São Paulo (SP), antes de ser anexado ao acervo do Museu Histórico Nacional do Rio de Janeiro. No museu carioca, a peça foi registrada, inicialmente, como sendo oriunda de Juiz de Fora.
Em 1997, com a ajuda de colaboradores, a origem do canhão foi revisada no registro do museu. No entanto, por um lapso na documentação apresentada, a autoria da peça foi atribuída ao filho de Cesário Crosara, Pacífico Crosara, que, na época da fabricação, tinha 20 e poucos anos. “Meu irmão deu a ideia de colocar uma espécie de gatilho para não precisar usar o rastilho com pólvora. Mas não houve tempo para isso”, disse Rugles Crosara.
De acordo com o chefe da Reserva Técnica do Museu Histórico Nacional, Jorge Cordeiro, a retificação no registro pode ser realizada com a comprovação documental da autoria da peça. “O museu está sempre aberto para estas retificações, porque as nossas pesquisas não são fechadas. Hoje no registro consta na fabricação somente Minas Gerais. O acervo passou por um novo inventário há cerca de quatro anos”, afirmou Cordeiro.

Cesário Crosara mudou-se para Uberlândia
em 1925 e faleceu em 1969Nome de avenida no bairro Roosevelt, região norte de Uberlândia, Cesário Crosara chegou à região do Triângulo Mineiro em 1894, quando a família adquiriu uma propriedade em Sacramento. Mas antes de chegar ao Brasil e, posteriormente a Uberlândia, Crosara passou a infância e juventude na Itália. Batizado na “Velha Bota”, como Crosara Cesare Giovanni Giacomo, nasceu em 9/12/1869, na cidade de Gambarare, hoje Mira, na província de Veneza.
A tradição militar também teve início na Itália. O pai de Cesário, Virgilio Giovanni Crosara, resolveu partir para o Brasil com a família diante das dificuldades vividas na Itália no fim do século 19, mas Cesário foi sorteado para o serviço militar obrigatório italiano. O pai retornaria para buscá-lo no fim de 1889.
No ano seguinte, Cesário Crosara já trabalhava numa fazenda cafeeira perto de Ribeirão Preto (SP), onde rapidamente passou a administrador, por dominar a língua italiana, além de sete dialetos de Veneto, e ter bom conhecimento de francês. Era o perfil ideal para lidar com a leva de imigrantes italianos que chegava aos cafezais paulistas.
Em meados de 1925, mudou-se para Uberlândia para montar uma oficina mecânica instalada ao lado da E. E. de Uberlândia. Com uma vida marcada por intensa atividade produtiva na fundição de onde saiu o canhão “Emílio”, Cesário Crosara também produzia equipamentos agrícolas, premiados em feiras brasileiras.
Prestes a completar 100 anos, Cesário Crosara faleceu em Uberlândia no dia 15/9/1969. Todos os registros da família fazem parte do acervo do engenheiro Rugles Crosara. “O papai teve 26 filhos, sendo 14 do primeiro casamento. E 12 do segundo. Hoje somos sete. Ainda tenho uma irmã viva do primeiro casamento dele”, disse Rugles Crosara.

HP Mini 210 spotted at retail with $350 pricetag
The yet-to-be-confirmed HP Mini 210 has popped up at a couple online retail spots already, but now it seems to have landed in the Real World courtesy of a Costco in Hillsboro, Oregon. We’ve seen the netbook listed at $280, $320 and now $350 pricetags, so we really don’t know who to trust anymore (certainly not our parent’s generation), but the sexy design, chiclet keyboard and unibutton trackpad certainly smack of progress.

I use the Novolog Flexpen and the Lantus Solostar, insulin pens.My question is "How long will these pens last OUT of the refridgerator, and unopened."
