We know it’s the holiday season and we should only talk about Santa, good deeds and other pleasant things, but we can’t help but report you a terrible thing that happened at Ford’s Truck Plant in Kentucky. Ronald S. Cassady, 54, dies while cutting down an I-beam with a torch during the past weekend. According to the Detroit Free Press, the beam fell on hid head and neck and, even if he was transported to the University Hospital, he was declared dead shortly after the accident.

Hi Sarah,
My resolution for 2010 is to lose 50 pounds. I am 5’4″ and weigh around 200 lbs. I have a treadmill and would like to know the best way to use it as I’m not ready to run as I find it too hard on my knees and I have a bad back. What do you suggest?

Hi Kim,
Before starting any exercise program it is important to consult your doctor. Let your doctor know of your intent to exercise and of any discomfort your are currently experiencing (i.e. your knees and back).
Weak knees and a bad back are common ailments of having too much weight on your frame. The excess load stresses the joints and alters your posture. If you follow the program set out below, coupled with a strength training program and a healthy diet, not only will the pounds start to come off, the stress on your frame will also be reduced.

Peep the promo vid after the jump. So, be sure to shake off your hangover on January 1st and pay us a visit. There will be some major goodies on our site after the coast-to-coast chaos.
As with the last video, this is just a teaser to whet our appetites before the real jump (over water and onto a barge, no less) takes place on New Year’s Day, meaning that the actual landing is left up to your imagination… for now. Click past the break to see it unfold.

‘For the last five days I have been
reporting my story of the so called “sharp dressed man.” For those of
you who haven’t read my account, it involves a sharp dressed “Indian
man” attempting to talk a ticket agent into letting a supposed
“Sudanese refugee” (The terrorist) onto flight 253 without a passport.
I have never had any idea how it played out except to note that the so
called “Sudanese reefugee” later boarded my flight and attempted to
blow it up and kill me.
At no time did my story involve, or even
find important whether the terrorist actually had a passport. The
importance of my story was and always will be, the attempt with an
accomplice (apparently succesful) of a terrorist with all sorts of
prior terrorist warning signs to skirt the normal passport boarding
procedures in Amsterdam. By the way, Amsterdam security did come out
the other day and admit that the terrorist did not have to “Go through
normal passport checking procedures”.’

‘Drug maker Pfizer (PFE) said late
Tuesday that it will discontinue research on an experimental lung
cancer drug after side effects led to an unexpected number of deaths in
patients.
Pfizer said it was canceling enrollments
for Phase 3 clinical trials for the drug, which was known as
figitumumab. The compound was being used in treatment for a disease
known non-adenocarcionoma, nonsmall-cell lung cancer.
According to Pfizer, the committee
monitoring the clinical trials said in September it saw a
“apparent imbalance” in serious side effects when using the
drug, including fatalities.’

will launch an inquiry in January 2010 on the influence of the

‘The former Malaysian
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has warned that the US is preparing to
launch an attack on Iran with the help of Israel. “Obama
is preparing for a (military) offensive on Iran with the help of his
ally, the Israeli regime,” IRNA quoted Mohamad as writing on his
weblog.
Mahathir said that
President Barack Obama, who had received the Nobel Peace Prize, did not
fulfill his promises regarding withdrawal of US troops from Iraq and

dismissed criminal charges against five Blackwater/Xe security guards
accused of fatally shooting 14 people in Baghdad in September 2007. On

Dick Clark is back this year to help usher in the New Year 2010 as the ball drops in Times Square for New Years Eve. You can watch Clark on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2010 for the second year since his stroke in 2004 made his legendary presence sorely missed on New Year’s Eve in Times Square.
Livestream will show a variety of programming beginning at 6pm Eastern tonight from around the country. They note that you can even watch the “littlest ball drop” which is located in Aggieville, Kansas. Livestream’s coverage is also available on the iPhone.
Not everyone can see the ball drop in person at Times Square, and some for whatever reason may not have access to a television or may prefer to watch the ball drop online.
