  • New Truck Test Track Unveiled by Daimler in India

    German carmaker Daimler today pulled the wraps off a new test track for truck in preparation for the launch of production at the Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) division in Oragadam, India.

    The DICV track, whose construction began in April last year, is already putting trucks through hell, as testing here has commenced. The trucks now being put through their paces will be launched in mid-2012.

  • 2010 Honda BTTC Drivers Announced

    Team Dynamics Motorsport announced today the Honda Racing Team driver line-up for the 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season. According to Honda’s British division, it will be the same lineup as the one in 2007, namely two time BTCC champion Matt Neal and Gordon "Flash" Shedden.

    As far as we know, the entire auto world has been affected by the recession, but things seem to be getting better. Today, Winnebago Industries, Inc., an important motor home manufacturer from the United States, reported improved financial results for the Company’s second quarter of fiscal year 2010.

  • Hummer Talks with Potential Buyers Stalled

    It seems that Hummer won’t be leaving the General Motors Company any time soon, as talks with potential buyers have been stalled, Dow Jones Newswires reported today. Unfortunately Hummer spokesman Nick Richards refused to comment on this aspect, and a spokesman for GM’s international operations couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

  • Monza Seeks F1 Extension until 2021

    As we’ve mentioned to you before, Autodromo Nazionale di Monza recently signed a 4-year extension to their current F1 deal by which they have been granted the hosting of the Italian Grand Prix until at least 2016. That put an end to all the media fights between the Monza and the Rome officials, after the formers were fearing that the Italian capital would take away their Grand Prix from 2013 onwards.

  • Jerry York, Former Chrysler CFO, Dies at 71

    Former Chrysler CFO and current Apple board of directors member, Jerry York, passed away on Thursday, March 18, at the age of 71, leaving behind a lifetime of achievements in both the auto and IT fields. York died in a Pontiac, after being stricken with a brain aneurysm.

  • Red Bull Racing Truck Involved in Road Crash near Melbourne

    Red Bull Racing did not get off to a very good start in their preparation for the upcoming Australian Grand Prix. According to local radio station 3AW, a truck carrying equipment of the Milton Keynes based team has been involved in an accident on a road near Melbourne.
