  • FIA Tells New Teams to Show Interest in F1

    The International Automobile Federation (FIA) confirmed that it has officially opened a new selection process to find one or more teams to fill out the vacancies of the Formula One grid in 2011 and 2012.   • Chrysler Celebrated the Launch of the Pentastar V6 Engine

  • Renault Presents the New 2.3 dCi Diesel Engine

    Renault has developed a new 2.3 liter dCi diesel unit, which has been introduced to the market on the new Master van.

    The 2.3 dCi engine is available in three power versions, offering 100 hp, 125 hp (using a fixed geometry turbocharger) or 150 hp (using a variable geometry turbocharger) and will also be present on other Renault-Nissan Alliance vehicles in the future.

  • GM to Launch Ad Campaign Against H.B. 217 Bill

    A new bill that would threaten GM’s ability to repay its taxpayer loans and provide jobs in Kentucky made the carmaker announce today it will start a new local ad campaign to alert all those involved about the negative impact that H.B. 217 will have on Kentucky’s economy.

    Following a recent partnership with Xi’an Dong Fang Group, TRW Asia Pacific will set up an airbag inflator and seat belt pretensioner manufacturing facility in Xi’an, Shanxi Province, China.   • FIA Allows Renault to Work on F1 Engine

    Renault and Red Bull Racing have just received some great news prior to the start of the Australian Grand Prix two weekends from now. According to British publication Autosport, it seems the French manufacturer was allowed by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) to proceed to some changes for their 2010 engines for cost and reliability reasons (despite the engine development freeze).

  • Toyota Asks to Meet US Officials Regarding Recalls

    Toyota seems to be followed by bad luck at every step. According to Reuters, the Japanese car manufacturer said it wanted to meet U.S. officials to discuss an early-stage investigation of the stalling problem concerning the Corolla and the Matrix.

    "Toyota does not believe that the alleged defect creates an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety," Toyota’s regulatory affairs manager Chris Santucci said in a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

    A JD Power survey has some good news for car dealers. Apparently new-vehicle buyers are returning to dealer showrooms in March, lured by incentives, after the news about recall and bad weather kept them away in February.
