  • Renault to Debut EV Test Program In Italy

    The Renault-Nissan Alliance continues the expansion of its Zero Emissions program, as it has finalized the E-Moving agreement with A2A utility developer, that was initiated last year and has the aim to develop a zero emission project in Lombardy, Italy.

  • BMW X6 M Becomes Nowack N700 4.8

    The not-so-famous Nowack Motors tuner has created what can only be described as an SUV beast: the N700 4.8, a 715 hp and 623 lb-ft (845 Nm) incarnation of the BMW X6 M.

  • Triumph Plans 2010 Anniversary Festival

    British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph revealed it is preparing a festival to celebrate 20 years since the successful re-launch of the iconic brand. The festival will take place at the Mallory Park race circuit in Leicestershire on September 18, 2010.

  • UK Gets New Online Price-Drop Car Auction Website

    Another sales tool is available for car dealers in the UK. A new website called ukcarexchange.com promises to offer a new, rapid and cost-effective way of selling their units directly to consumers and trade.

    The website was launched this month and represents an online price-drop car auction portal aiming to bring the buyers and the sellers together.   • Kia Launches 7 Year Switch Offer in the UK

    After the UK Government announced in early February it has decided to extend the country’s scrappage scheme until the end of March, Kia Motors’ local division announced it is adding an extra spice to the offering.

    The carmaker therefore announced it is introducing the 7 Year Switch, offering owners of cars over seven years old the chance to trade up to a new Kia, benefit of a seven year warranty and save up to £2,000 off the list price.

  • Visteon to Keep Pension Plans

    Contrary to what it initially planned to do, American supplier Visteon announced today it will keep the pension plans for the 23,000 employees and retirees. This means the decision made in December, when Visteon said it wants to transfer three of its pension plans to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC).

    The move would have shaved an aggregate shortfall of $544 million for Visteon, while the retirees would have lost $100 million in benefits because of federal limits.

    The latest addition to the Alfa MiTo range, the Alfa MiTo 1.3 JTDM-2 has been introduced on the British Market.   • GM To Restart Saturn and Hummer Production

    Though GM has closed down both the Saturn and the Hummer brands, its seems that the Saturn Outlook and the Hummer H3 are not completely dead, as both models are still in production, says autonews.com.

    The TomTom Netherlands-based GPS and auto satnav producer has released its latest map update package.

    The pack includes over 100 new or updated maps, covers three new countries and over 100,000 kilometers of new roads. TomTom users can now purchase maps for Morocco & Western Sahara, Chile and French Antilles for the first time. The map set detailing the latter includes Guadaloupe, Martinique, Saint Barthelemy and Saint Martin.
