  • Nissan Posts February US Sales

    Though the Americans’ trust in Japanese cars is being severely shattered by Toyota’s recalls, Nissan seems to be doing quite well in the US. Nissan North America (NNA) posted a sales increase of 29.4 percent compared with February 2009. Nissan Division sales rose 31.9 percent for the month, while sales of Infiniti vehicles were 10.7 percent higher than a year before.

  • 2010 Toyota Corolla Earns IIHS Top Safety Pick

    Not all lost for Toyota, it would seem… Even if the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) doesn’t particularly test the accelerator pedal, the brake response or the floormats in a car when it decides to hand over its coveted Top Safety Pick title to a given vehicle, having it in the pedigree of a car can only help.

  • Toyota Verso Gets Gets Five Stars Euro NCAP Rating

    The European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) released today a new set of crash test results, concerning five models: Citroen Nemo, Kia Venga, Nissan Cube, Seat Exeo and Toyota Verso. Following the tests, Euro NCAP found the Verso to be the only one worthy of a five star rating, while the others had to settle for four and even three stars.

    Subaru introduced the Impreza XV, a crossover version of the Impreza 5 door model at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show.

  • German Olympic Athletes Celebrated with Audi Parade

    Following their return from Vancouver, the German Olympic athletes were welcomed yesterday with a car parade in downtown Munich. From the Siegestor (Victory Gate) via Ludwigstrasse to the Marienplatz square directly in front of City Hall: in a total of 30 Audi A5 and A3 cabriolets, the team was greeted by the crowd lining the route.

    The German Olympic team brought home a total of 10 gold, 13 silver and 7 bronze medals, clinching second place for Germany in the medal table.

  • Kia Brakes All Records, Posts Best February Sales Ever

    It would seem there’s no stopping the growth of South Korean manufacturer Kia in the US, after the sales figures posted by the carmaker for February in the US show the in managed to have its best second month of the year ever.

  • Ford Starts Plug-In Hybrid Testing in Florida

    Ford wants more plug-in hybrid cars in its line-up, so the American automaker decided to expand the range of its plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) research program with the help of its regional utility partner Progress Energy.
