  • Dana to Supply Driveshafts for VW Amarok

    Dana Holding Corporation has just announced that it will supply Spicer Life Series propshafts to the new Volkswagen Amarok. The new pick-up has already been launched on the South American market early this year and will be sold in Europe, Russia, Australia, and South Africa. Volkswagen Amarok will be available in two- and four-wheel-drive versions and is powered by one of two turbocharged direct-injection common-rail diesel engines.

  • 2010 Geneva Auto Show: Tata Nano Electric

    Just like the rest of the carmakers who are striving to get closer to tree-huggers by launching new green models, the Indians over at Tata Nano introduced an electric flavor of the Nano at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show.

  • Ford’s Electrifying Plans for Europe

    Taking advantage of its presence at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, American manufacturer Ford outlined its plan when it comes to the future line-up of electric and hybrid vehicles to be brought to the Old Continent.   • Hakkinen to Become Hamilton’s Manager?

    Yesterday, it was confirmed that Lewis Hamilton’s interests in Formula One and beyond will no longer be represented by his father Anthony. However, the 2008 Formula One champion did not reveal the name of his future manager, as he’s yet to make that decision in the upcoming few weeks.   • Ford Announced US February Sales

    It has been reported that Ford gained the most from Toyota’s recall disaster. We don’t know exactly how many Toyota clients migrated to the Ford showrooms, but the American car manufacturer’s sales are definitely up. In February, Ford Motor Company had a 43% sales increase as compared to February 2009. As compared to January, Ford’s sales were up 22%.

  • Yamaha Silver Star One-Off Bike Revealed

    Based on an YZF R6 machine, Yamaha together with Silver Star Casting Company, custom builder Nick Anglada, and famous tattoo artist Franco Vescovis created a Southern California Rat Rods and Low Rider inspired motorcycle to pay tribute to Silver Star Casting Company.

  • Schumacher Signs New Manager for 2010

    Not only Lewis Hamilton, but also 7-time world champion Michael Schumacher will change his management prior to the start of the 2010 Formula One season.     After its debut at the 2009 IAA in Frankfurt, the BMW Vision Efficient Dymanics concept car received the Louis Vuitton Classic Award at a ceremony held at the BMW Welt Double Cone on February 28. The chairman of the jury, Christian Philippsen, presented the award to Adrian von Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design.

  • EVO Electric Powers the Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid

    The first demonstration of a hybrid vehicle coming from Lotus is these days on display at the Geneva Auto Show, showcasing at the same time the Axial Flux motor/generator technology manufactured by British company EVO Electric.

    Each of the two EVO drive motors develop 207 ps (hence the 414E name given to the Evora) and 400 Nm (295 lbft) of torque. They are back by a 1.2l three-cylinder engine acting a range extender.

    US F1 will certainly not take part in the 2010 Formula One championship, as revealed by British publication Autosport in the late hours of yesterday evening.
