  • Mindy McCready Fighting To Block Release Of Sex Tape

Mindy McCready is considering taking legal action to block the release of an explicit sex tape — featuring the singer in the throws of passion and offering commentary on the prowness of ex-lovers like Dean Cain and Roger Clemens — from being released by Vivid Entertainment.

McCready, 34, apparently was not aware of the production of the tape titled Baseball Mistress, and never gave permission for its release.

    There’s a surprise….

The troubled country music singer is as famous for her controversial life off stage as she is for the power ballads she once performed on it, but this is one diss the Celebrity Rehabbing-songbird won’t take laying down.

“We are not aware of the production or release of the alleged film that seems to have surfaced via various media reports,” E! News quoted her attorney Adam Dread as saying in a statement. “However, we can confirm that any illegally obtained property, and/or fabricated footage, and the release thereof, will be dealt with swiftly following proper legal procedure….”

However, Steven Hirsch, founder/co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment, isn’t concerned about a possible lawsuit surrounding Baseball Mistress — he insists Mindy’s ex-boyfriend — who is featured in the footage gave the OK.

“We acquired the McCready video awhile ago and feel comfortable with our legal position to distribute it. You really have to see it to believe it,” Hirsch stated. “If Mindy wants to discuss the video, she should feel free to contact me.”

Hirsch has already released a bevy of celebrity skin flicks, to the displeasure of the folks featured getting it on in them: such as Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, former American Idol Jessica Sierra, and more recently Shauna Sand.
