  • Standard Time by Mark Formanek

    standard-time-1

Mark Formanek figured out a very fascinating way of telling time. According to the artist, “Standard Time is a performance lasting exactly 24 hours and recorded on film. However, this film is much more than just the recording of an action, the recording of something that has taken place in the past; it is also a clock. A clock for use right now and in the future which, as each day goes by, extends further into the past, but is still up-to-date and punctual”. It’s obvious the hard work that went into this art/performance piece, to see how the whole project was constructed visit Standard Time.

    Palladium-ss2010-main

Referencing their 60 year heritage, Palladium introduces new canvas colors as part of their Spring/Summer collection. Also new for Spring are boue canvas with putty rubber and a chestnut canvas with a combination gum/chocolate rubber toe cap and sole. Some prints are truly unique such as aloha prints, shell prints, fatigues, and animal, but are subtle enough as to not make them too dominant.

  • Ridgecrest Residence by Cottam Hargrave

    ridgecrest-residence-main

From Cottam Hargrave: This family-centered 3800sf residence is located on five acres in the West Lake Hills area of Austin. The building site is located over 500’ into the property, enhancing both privacy and sight lines. Because of the steep slope and the desire to minimize level changes within the house, linearity dominates, dictating the structure to follow a limestone ledge on the property. This linear arrangement along the ledge forces the garage to be a part of the entry sequence, which indirectly becomes the icon of the house. On the adjacent facades, two very long and overlapping shed roofs further differentiate the form.
