The AP shows Susan Collins surrendering to foreigners at Davos this weekend

Maine Republican Susan Collins is commonly known as as the slightly more insane of the two Maine Senators who are slightly less insane than the rest of the Republicans.

But apparently she was determined to take an opportunity for ever-reliable GOP stupidity in giving the response to Obama’s weekly address.

“The Obama administration appears to have a blind spot when it comes to the War on Terrorism,” she added. “And, because of that blindness, this administration cannot see a foreign terrorist even when he stands right in front of them…”

And on this point and in the wake of Citizens United vs. FEC, Ms. Collins may be right:

  • Ivana Trump Singing Career

Socialite and former model Ivana Trump is using her appearance on a popular UK reality show to help launch career in music.

The first wife of billionaire proved a hit with viewers of Celebrity Big Brotherlast month and wants to use her newfound popularity to conquer the pop charts. Trump, 60, has secretly made recordings and regularly asks her entourage and housekeepers to dance to her songs as they work, Britain’s Daily Mail said Monday.

I, for one, can’t wait for Ivana’s album to hit shelves….It’s been ages since I’ve had a good laugh….

Celebrity stylist Stuart Phillips flew out to St Tropez to style Ivana’s hair for an event and dished all to the London papers upon his return.

“Ivana is truly a surprising lady. She’s hiding a stunning singing voice and now, with the publicity of Big Brother, she would love to launch a pop career,” said Phillips. “She might seem aloof but she is incredibly talented and creative. I arrived at her home and was greeted by her 10 staff. Then suddenly, halfway through the styling, Ivana asked all of her staff, myself and my make-up artist, to stop working and dance to her new record,” Stuart laughed.

“I was amazed to hear it was Ivana singing. Her music is fun and positive. When people hear her songs they will be surprised.”

Last month, Ivana was kicked off a flight bound for New York City after the mother of three cursed at a group of rowdy children whose noisemaking was getting on her nerves.

  • To Deliver, iPad Needs Media Deals [Voices]

By David Carr, New York Times

Short of landing in a flying saucer and having a tablet teleported into his hands, there was no way that Steve Jobs could have lived up to the hype before last Wednesday’s iPad announcement.

But he came pretty close. By the time the bells, whooshes and clicks died down, I couldn’t say the future had arrived, but I’m pretty sure we can see it from here.

  • Will Your Big-Screen Super Bowl Party Violate Copyright Law? [Voices]

By Nate Anderson, Senior Editor, Ars Technica

An offhand comment the other day by a friend caught my attention—”Did you know that you can’t watch the Super Bowl on a TV screen larger than 55 inches? Yeah, it’s right there in the law.”

With the Colts and Saints set to do battle in Super Bowl XLIV, this seemed worth looking into as a public service.

  • NTT DoCoMo will demo LTE prototype at MWC, launch service this year

Still on track to launch its LTE network this year, Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo has today announced that its first prototype handset designed specifically to handle all that bandwidth will be unveiled at MWC 2010. We already knew a cool $10.4 billion or thereabouts were to be spent on Japanese LTE deployment, and now we can break that figure down a little by noting that NTT will be spending between $3.3b and $4.4b on its infrastructure alone. All we know of the new phone so far is that it’ll be the product of the overall partnership with NEC, Fujitsu and Panasonic, but jidging from NTT DoCoMo’s last prototype to grace these pages, we’re unlikely to be left wanting.

  • Xbox 360 Hard Drive accessory bumped to 250GB in Japan

On March 11th, Microsoft will kick out its 250GB external hard drive to the good people of Japan; notable, as the first time that this 250GB drive has been sold anywhere outside of a new console bundle. The slab of external magnetic storage is set to cost ¥15,540 or about $172 should it ever ship Stateside. Unfortunately, Microsoft isn’t revealing its plans for that at the moment while conceding the need for more local storage for content such as software, TV shows, and movies downloaded from the Xbox Live Marketplace. In other words, you’ll get your storage bump… someday.

  • Best MSM ( 1500mg, 120 Tabs )

Best MSM ( 1500mg, 120 Tabs ) Best MSM and Best MSM Powder contain pure MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), a
white crystalline substance that occurs in the human body and in some foods. MSM
is an excellent dietary source of bioavailable organic sulfur.

The MSM Story-One of Nature’s Primary Sources of Organic Dietary Sulfur!

The human body requires a continuous supply of usable sulfur, and MSM is one of
the primary organic sulfur-containing molecules for use by living organisms.
From life’s earliest beginnings, primitive marine organisms (blue-green algae
and phytoplankton) have absorbed inorganic sulfur from ocean waters and produced
organic sulfur molecules, primarily dimethyl sulfonium salts. These salts are
released back into the sea, where they are converted to dimethyl sulfide, which
readily evaporates, ending up in the upper atmosphere. Dimethyl sulfide is then
oxidized by UV light, forming DMSO and MSM. The two compounds are delivered to
land masses in rain water, and absorbed by plants. MSM is a stable end-product
of this process, and thus serves as a primary source of sulfur in the food
    chain.

Though present on earth since before life appeared on dry land, and known to
science since the 1950’s, MSM has only recently been recognized as having
    importance in human nutrition.

Why the Human Body Needs MSM

MSM occurs naturally in the blood, body fluids and tissues. It is now believed
that a minimum MSM concentration of 0.2 parts per million is necessary for the
body to function normally. MSM may be the most easily absorbed and non-toxic
source of nutritional sulfur occurring in nature.

Sulfur is a structural mineral that maintains the strength of various tissues by
forming sulfur "tie-bars" (sulfhydryl bonds) between connective tissue proteins.
MSM serves as a readily available source of sulfur for this function, and thus
helps maintain the pliancy of tissues and cell membranes. Repair of damaged
tissue depends upon a supply of sulfur for continuation of reactions involving
sulfhydryl groups (-SH). Sulfur is required for the maintenance of healthy hair,
skin and nails. In view of the presence of MSM in biological systems since the
beginning of evolution, it is logical to assume that all higher life forms,
including humans and animals, are well adapted to use MSM as a sulfur donor.
