The oldest alumnus present, A Eappen Adangapuram, who passed out from the school in 1944, remembered travelling from Saidapet to Parry’s Corner, where the school was then located. “I’ve been attending reunions every year since they were revived in 2006. The move to make the school a co-educational institution is in keeping with the times,” he saidTo mark 175 years, the school management is considering the setting up of a multiplex, with shuttle and tennis courts on the 15-acre campus. Tennis, cricket and football tournaments are being planned. The school headmaster and correspondent, G J Manohar, said: “We wanted girls to benefit from the infrastructure and quality of education. That’s why we are considering making it a co-educational institution. It will also be easier for families with more than one child studying here.”
