  • Jon Stewart: Replacement Host Begins In June

Jon Stewart is set to take a break from “The Daily Show” in order to direct his first feature film, “Rosewater”, and the show already has his replacement lined up.

John Oliver, who has been a contributor on the show for years, will take over hosting duties at the desk starting on June 10th. His first guest will be actor Seth Rogen.

Oliver acknowledges that Stewart’s shoes won’t be easy ones to fill, saying, ”Don’t worry, it’s still going to be everything that you love about The Daily Show, just without the thing that you love the most about it.”

Oliver is an Emmy-winning writer and hosts “John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show” on Comedy Central, which features the best stand-up comedians in the business. Stewart returns to “The Daily Show” on September 3rd.

  • Beyonce Embarrasses Princess During Concert

Apparently, no one told Beyonce that there was royalty at her show in London last night.

Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, was in attendance right down in front, and Beyonce just happened to throw the mic to her for help in singing the “to the left, to the left” part of “Irreplaceable”. It’s something she does at almost every show, but this time around the fan she chose wasn’t too keen on singing for an audience. Reportedly, Eugenie ducked down in embarrassment and took some ribbing from her friends for the rest of the night.

The princess was there with several pals, including James Middleton, brother of Duchess Kate. The Mirror reports that, until the incident, she was having a grand old time.

“[She] was really excitable and filming the whole thing on her iPhone like any other fan.”

  • Jennifer Aniston “Cheat Day” Means No Dieting

Jennifer Aniston has had an enviable body for as long as she’s been onscreen, but even she has days where she’s unhappy with certain body parts.

The 43-year old actress admits she used to be “a lot rounder”, however, and credits yoga for helping to tone her problem areas. Aniston recently attended a book party for her friend Mandy Ingber, who just released “Yogalosophy: 28 Days to the Ultimate Mind-Body Makeover.” The pair have known each other for years and have watched the other grow into her own body.

It’s hard to say is that yoga or is it as we get older we grow into ourselves, but I’ve seen her become so empowered, so grounded in herself, so comfortable in her own skin,” Ingber said. “I’ve definitely watched that process happen and unfold, and I’m grateful that I’ve gotten to be the observer of that.”

Aniston says she allows herself “cheat days” where the word diet is off-limits, but a weakness for chips and salsa means she has to control her portions.

“Cheat days for me are usually … it’s either Mexican food … maybe Italian pasta, but I think you always have to do it in moderation,” she says.

In Hollywood, where a woman’s body will always be judged by someone, many females choose a slender body over being healthy; that isn’t the case for Aniston, who says it’s important to her to be patient with herself…especially when doing yoga.

“Love the body that you have right now because that’s the perfect body and then be patient with yourself,” she said. “When you first start you might feel like ‘I can’t do this, it hurts,’ and then be patient. Do little bits and you get there. You do, it’s all about being really gentle with yourself and acceptance of what it is at the moment.”

  • “Storage Wars” Drops 3 Main Cast Members

“Storage Wars” has become a phenomenon in reality television, finding success among those who love a good find in dusty old antique stores and garage sales. The show is done on an even bigger scale, with people bidding on storage units full of stuff sight unseen, hoping one of them will yield a vast treasure. Sometimes, it’s amazing what can be found in those units. So amazing, according to one cast member, because the producers of the show plant those items in order to draw in ratings.

David Hester says he’s seen them plant a mini BMW, among other things, and filed a lawsuit last December against the show for wrongful termination after they fired him for going public with the story. Now, cast members Darrell Sheets and Dan and Laura Dotson are being dropped from several episodes in the upcoming season, reportedly because the show is trying to save money while they deal with the lawsuit.

“They lived up to Darrell’s contract, but then shot more episodes that weren’t covered by his contract and kept him out of those,” a source said. “He was not happy to say the least. It seems as if they are going after some of the higher paid cast members. And meanwhile they are expanding the franchise. “

Hester claims that all the cast members knew about the show planting items and is allegedly furious that he’s the only one to speak up and get the boot. As of now, Sheets has been cut out of six episodes, and the husband-and-wife couple are reportedly out of at least that many.

  • Chris Kelly Dies: Kriss Kross Rapper Was 34

Rapper Chris Kelly, who formed one half of the popular ’90s hip-hop group Kriss Kross, was found dead in his home on Wednesday night. He was 34 years old.

Kriss Kross shot to stardom in 1991 with their debut album, “Totally Krossed Out” after being discovered by producer Jermaine Dupri while performing in an Atlanta mall. Their style, which consisted of baggy sweatshirts and jeans, was instantly transformed from the norm into a fad when they began wearing the clothes backwards.

Though the group never really found the same success with later albums, they remained close friends and recently performed together at the So- So Def 20th Anniversary Concert, where they opened the show.

The cause of Kelly’s death is reportedly drug related, according to authorities.

“It appears it may have been a possible drug overdose,” said Cpl. Kay Lester, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County police; investigators are basing that judgement on evidence found at the scene.

Kelly’s friends, family, and fans are mourning the loss of a young man who helped shape the music world for young people. His mother, Donna Kelly Pratte, released a statement regarding his death:

“It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved Chris Kelly has passed away on May 1. To millions of fans worldwide, he was the trendsetting, backwards pants-wearing one-half of Kris Kross who loved making music. But to us, he was just Chris – the kind, generous and fun-loving life of the party. Though he was only with us a short time, we feel blessed to have been able to share some incredible moments with him. His legacy will live on through his music, and we will forever love him.”

  • 5 Shot At Crab Festival, One Man Dead

5 people were shot at an annual street party in Florida on Saturday, leaving one man dead.

19-year old Devontee Tramine Ocasio has been charged with first degree murder, discharge of firearm with injury, aggravated of assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm after he opened fire in a crowded public area last weekend. Williston’s Crab Festival is actually not a celebration of crustaceans, but rather a series of “Hip Hop Style Street Parties” which aren’t regulated by the county yet draw upwards of 10,000 visitors each year. Officials say the parties are always fraught with violence and attempted to be prepared for the enormous gathering this time around.

“The Levy County Department of Public Safety had pre-staged ambulances and a Medical helicopter in the area for the Festival. The large crowds made it impossible for ambulances to reach the wounded,” reads a press release from the Levy County Sheriff’s Office. “Despite the large crowds walking and dancing in the roadway, Deputies and EMS personnel were able to evacuate the victims in law enforcement and private vehicles.”

Authorities say they are investigating the possibility that another party was involved in the shooting, but so far Ocasio is the only one to be arrested. His bond is set at $1.5 million.

  • Pink: “Reformed Slut” Title Her Own Doing

Pink opened up to Glamour Magazine recently about what it means to be a new mom, how to make a celebrity relationship work, and why she calls herself a “reformed slut”.

“It’s my very unsophisticated way of taking the power back,” she explains. “I’ve always had an issue with [the notion that], ‘OK, we’ve both decided to do this. Why am I a slut and you’re the player? You didn’t get anything from me that I didn’t get from you.’”

The 33-year old singer seems to always be brutally honest in interviews and doesn’t hold much back, but now that she’s a married mother of one, the topic always seems to switch to her family rather than what lies in her past. After a brief split from motocross driver Carey Hart, the two reconciled and are now the parents of 2-year old Willow.

“Long-term relationships are an everyday choice. It’s harder to be in a marriage than it is to bounce from one relationship to the next,” Pink says. “We’re good because we communicate and we’ve grown up together, not because we don’t fight.”

Pink appears on the most recent issue of Glamour, showing off that famous chiseled body and her many tattoos.

  • Boston Bombing Suspects: 3 More Arrested

Police have reportedly taken three classmates of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev into custody for questioning, but are stressing that they are not considered to be suspects at this time.

Authorities arrested the three students to find out whether bomb-making materials were taken from Tsarnaev’s dorm room at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth just after the bombings. They were all roommates of the accused bomber; two were reportedly arrested several days ago, while the other was taken in this morning.

The students have apparently been under close FBI scrutiny for two weeks and will attend a court hearing later today. They are expected to face charges of obstruction of justice, as it is believed they aided Tsarnaev after the bombings. Authorities say they have no evidence at this time that there is a danger to the public at large.

“Please be advised that there is no threat to public safety,” the Boston Police said in a statement.

  • Rob Kardashian Sued For Assault, Stealing Photos

Rob Kardashian is usually the family member we hear the least about; it must be difficult living in the shadow of your uber-famous sisters. But now, he’s in the spotlight, and for a reason he’d rather not be.

Photographer Andra Vaik says she snapped some shirtless photos of Rob and he became angry and grabbed her camera, stealing the memory card from it. Rob says he was incensed because Vaik was trespassing on private property when she took the pics, and that he didn’t want them getting out because they were taken at a time when he was trying to lose weight. He claims he offered to pay for a replacement memory card, but Vaik is having none of it. She’s suing him for robbery and assault, and while it’s not clear what her terms are, her lawyer made a statement regarding the incident.

“While this case is still in the preliminary stage, it is clear from our investigation that Robert Kardashian’s violent behavior and his use of force towards Ms. Viak was completely unjustified.”

Meanwhile, other members of the Kardashian family are battling their own dramas; Kim, who is pregnant with Kanye West’s baby, is still dealing with a nasty divorce from baller Kris Humphries, and Khloe just got canned from “The X-Factor”. Looks like their reality show will have no shortage of fodder anytime soon.

  • Redskins Name Change Won’t Come Anytime Soon

The Washington Redskins are at battle again over whether the team name should be changed, but it doesn’t look like a resolution will come anytime soon.

Washington Councilman David Grosso says the time has come to make a decision regarding the team’s name, owing to its “racist and derogatory” meaning.

“We have to change it, and I’m calling on [owner] Dan Snyder and the NFL to step up and do the right thing,” Grosso said.

Grosso has even come up with a replacement idea: the Washington Redtails, after the Tuskegee Airmen.

“You can still sing the song and everything,” Grosso said. “Hail … to the … Redtails.”

Grosso has drafted a resolution, which he plans to unveil soon and states that “Washington’s name has been dishonored by association with the word ‘Redskins’. Because it is well known in America and in nations afar that American Indians have experienced utmost suffering and disrespect over the years.”

The Redskins’ name has actually been under review by the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board since 2006, when a group of Native Americans filed a case claiming the term “redskin” was disparaging to American Indians. Before that, the team went through a 17-year long case brought before the Supreme Court over the name that they ultimately won, so even if Grosso manages to convince the right people that things have to change, it could take years to be put into effect.

  • Demi Moore Reunited With Estranged Daughter

Demi Moore and her daughters haven’t been on the best of terms since her split from Ashton Kutcher back in 2011; she has subsequently taken a trip to rehab and shared a few odd moments with the public, and her family, which once seemed so tightly-knit, has come unraveled.

But Moore and daughter Rumer were spotted leaving a yoga class together recently, and it looks like things may be getting back to normal. The pair were with Rumer’s boyfriend, Jayson Blair, in Hollywood last week for a 90-minute workout and left looking like a happy family.

“They all did the class together, and after 90 minutes they walked out as a group,” a source said. “Demi and Rumer seemed very close, like they had been in the past. There didn’t seem to be any tension or hard feelings between them.”

The 50-year old actress and her brood made headlines for most of 2012 after Moore hit up rehab, fought off rumors of an eating disorder, and dealt with her daughters’ private lives suddenly going very public. There was even talk of the girls getting a restraining order against their mother after her behavior became erratic following her split from Kutcher. However, a source says that’s just not true.

“It’s true they’re not all hunky dory, getting along like they used to, but they’re not about to go to those extremes. They love their mom at the end of the day, and they’re never going to completely abandon her.”

  • Deanna Durbin Dies: Child Actress Was 91

Deanna Durbin, who was a beloved young actress during the Golden Age of Hollywood, has died. She was 91.

Durbin was just in junior high when she was discovered and ended up starring in “Every Sunday”, a one-reel short, opposite Judy Garland. She would go on to draw in crowds at the theaters and, at one time, was a bigger star than Shirley Temple. In those days, that was a huge deal. By 1947, she was the highest-paid movie star in the country, and one of the most famous faces in the world. Anne Frank reportedly had a photo of Durbin tacked up on the wall in the attic she hid in with her family. But by 1948, she was tired of the business and made the decision to walk away at the age of 28.

“The character I was forced into had little or nothing in common with myself – or with other youth of my generation, for that matter,” she said. “I was never happy making pictures. I’ve gained weight. I do my own shopping, bring up my two children and sing an hour every day.”

Durbin retired to France with her husband, director Charles David, and led a happily married life up until his death in 1999, just before their 50th anniversary. She is survived by her two children, Peter and Jessica.

  • Worker Dies In Blender At Meat Processing Plant

In a tragic accident in Oregon, a man fell into an industrial-sized blender at a meat packing plant last Friday while cleaning it and died.

41-year old Hugo Avalos-Chanon, an employee of DCS Sanitation Management, died of blunt-force trauma and “chopping wounds” after becoming tangled up in the blender. Officials say there was an emergency stop button, but by the time another employee was able to push it, Avalos-Chanon was already dead. Firefighters had to dismantle the blender to remove his body.

Authorities say the man’s death was a tragic workplace accident, but are still conducting an investigation and are looking into why the machinery wasn’t shut down during cleaning; it is unclear at this time what caused the blender to start up while Avalos-Chanon was working on it.

‘‘It’s way too early to say,’’ OSHA spokesperson Melanie Mesaros said. ‘‘We’re just starting our investigation, which could take six months.’’

  • Kristen Cavallari Wants Her Marriage To Last

Kristen Cavallari recently spoke about being both a wife and mother and a working gal, and says she’s willing to put her personal projects on hold in order to spend time with her family.

“It’s easy to get wrapped up in your career and have that be your only focus, and I want my marriage to work and last – and family comes first,” she said.

Between design projects, a jewelry line, and a shoe line, Cavallari–who got her start on the MTV “reality” show “The Hills” as Lauren Conrad’s mortal enemy–is a busy lady. The 26-year old and Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler became parents to baby Camden eight months ago, and are planning a wedding very soon. Cavallari says the two of them make a good team.

“Having Jay is really helpful,” she said. “It’s important to talk about parenting philosophies before having a child. You want to go in knowing how to raise them to avoid the arguments that can ensue. Being good parents is our top priority.”

  • Madonna: Daughter’s Green Hair Is Latest Experiment

Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes, is known for her fashion sense and for trying out new things with her style, and her latest look is a little bit punk rock.

The 16-year old was snapped recently in New York sporting bright green tresses, and though she kept the rest of her look simple in a t-shirt and jeans, her hair is getting some attention. Like most teenagers, however, she seems to just enjoy sampling new things, and hair color is an easy thing to change. Mom Madonna says she’s not very strict when it comes to certain things, something she wants to work on.

“I’m probably not as tough as I should be. I think I need to be maybe tougher,” she said.

But being one of the most famous and recognized faces in the world does add a certain amount of stress to her plate, and the Material Girl says she’s just doing her best to get through the day.

“To be a single mother of four and to work as much as I do, and live my life in a kind of metaphorical fish bowl, it’s pretty challenging,” she said. “But so far I’ve survived with sanity and humor intact.”

Lourdes is Madonna’s daughter with ex Carlos Leon; she also has a son, Rocco, with film director Guy Ritchie and both a son and daughter whom she adopted: David and Mercy.

  • Cindy Crawford: Daughter Moves From Modeling To Acting

Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia is just eleven, but she’s already following in her famous mom’s footsteps.

The pre-teen landed a modeling gig with Versace Children last year, but Crawford cut the job short, saying her daughter was too young.

“At this point, she’s too young to pursue a career [in modeling]. There aren’t even a handful of jobs for a 10-year-old girl. But if she’s 17 and wants to try it… of course, what can I say?” she said.

Like a true professional, Kaia took the news gracefully and has moved on to bigger and better things. She’s now playing Kendra in a production of “13″ at the Malibu Civic Auditorium and appears to enjoy her newfound acting bug.

  • Miley Cyrus: Cover Shoot Is “Edgy”

Miley Cyrus recently had a big cover shoot for Elle UK, and she says the look they gave her is full of punk-rock edge and shows off a different side of her personality.

Apparently leather bustiers, denim short-shorts, and shaved hair isn’t considered “edgy” anymore.

The 20-year old actress and singer said she was excited to do the shoot, as it was her first major magazine cover.

“ELLE UK is really cool and it is a little different. I think it shows a different side of style that I feel is really me,” Miley said. “It’s a bit punk and a little more edgy. It’s really cool to be able to shoot this as I haven’t had the chance to do much for the UK like this yet. ELLE is a really cool magazine and my first big cover.”

Rocking smoky eyes and a platinum mohawk, Cyrus got to choose several different outfits to pose in and said that was the most difficult part.

“It’s like doing an album where you don’t want to cut the songs you do like but you have to choose,” she said. “It’s like there’s so many options and outfits and pictures, you feel like, ‘How do I know this is the one I’m really wanting?’ I’m glad I don’t have to edit through the pictures.”

  • Mother Shot While Holding Baby, Dies On Scene

The mother of a two-week old baby was shot and killed with the baby in her arms, Alabama police say.

24-year old Sherri Williams was standing in the doorway of her apartment on Monday afternoon when a stray bullet–likely fired by a man who was running down the street–hit her. She died at the scene.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them regarding two men who got into a fight at a local store. They believe their altercation led to a chase on foot, and that Williams was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

  • Jack Shea Dies: Television Director Was 84

Jack Shea, who built a career directing successful sitcoms after a fluke job opportunity, has died of complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 84 years old.

Shea was just 27 when he was pushed into the director’s chair after the man helming the game show “Truth Or Consequences” called in sick; it would be the beginning of a lifelong career move that included direction of shows like “The Jeffersons”, “Silver Spoons”, “Designing Women”, and “Sanford And Son”.

The Emmy-nominated director was adamant in pushing for diversity in hiring practices and was a 3-time president of the Director’s Guild. He and his wife, Patt, also helped form Catholics in Media Associates in order to honor films and television shows which celebrated spiritual values.

“The guild has always tried to do something about [gender and ethnic diversity] … when I joined the guild, the guild was all white, all male. But we now have a wide range of people in this group,” he once said.

“Jack Shea occupied a truly unique position in the history of the modern DGA. As the West Coast president of the Radio & Television Directors Guild in 1960, he was at the table sitting across from Frank Capra when the two guilds representing television and theatrical directors merged to form the modern Directors Guild of America,” said Directors Guild of America President Taylor Hackford in a statement. “Beloved by his fellow directors, the DGA membership and the DGA staff, he always had a ready smile and keen interest in everyone he encountered. Jack enjoyed life and shared it with everyone around him; as a leader, his gentle manner and the kindest of hearts will be the things we miss the most.”
