  • Tori Spelling Stranded With Four Kids And A Dog

Tori Spelling, who famously added a new baby to her brood just months after having daughter Hattie, had a rough time recently when her car broke down with the entire family in it. The reality star looked pretty over it in a photo she posted to her Instagram account on Wednesday.

“Four kids, one dog [and] one car leaking gas broken down on the side of the road,” Spelling wrote in the caption. “Not a great trip.”

Spelling had to have emergency surgery after giving birth to infant son Finn in September; the actress had complications from her C-section, which might have been due to her giving birth twice in several months. She and husband Dean McDermott have said that having a fourth child–who is so close in age to the third–can be overwhelming at times.

“It has put us over the edge. They’re 10 months apart, Hattie and Finn,” she said. “It got a little crazy going from three to four. It’s basically like having twins at home. It’s overwhelming.”

  • Steven Tyler To Testify On Behalf Of Celebrities

Steven Tyler is one of several celebrities who are trying to make Hawaii a safer place for stars.

The Aerosmith frontman is expected to testify today at a Honolulu hearing for a bill Tyler himself initiated which would crack down on the intrusive behavior of paparazzi when celebrities visit the island on their downtime.

“The paradise of Hawaii is a magnet for celebrities who just want a peaceful vacation,” Tyler said in a statement. “As a person in the public eye, I know the paparazzi are there and we have to accept that,” he added. “But when they intrude into our private space, disregard our safety and the safety of others, that crosses a serious line that shouldn’t be ignored.”

Over the years, as the media becomes increasingly more fervent in its desire to break a big photo or story–largely due to the influence of social media and the fact that almost everyone has immediate access to news sources via smartphones and tablets–the paparazzi have become more aggressive. Several stars have spoken out against the photographers, saying they endanger their lives and the lives of others when they chase celebs on the road just to get a picture. In fact, a photographer was killed recently when he crossed a busy highway to try and snap a shot of Justin Bieber.

Tyler contends that when the stars migrate to Hawaii on vacations, they are often subjected to invasions of privacy. The bill he wants to pass–which is named after him–would impose stricter penalties on photographers, enable stars to seek damages from those who intrude, and expand the laws surrounding invasion of privacy to include the use of zoom lenses on cameras and sophisticated sound equipment.

  • Fashionista Suicide Comes After Facebook Exchange

A 22-year old woman jumped to her death from the George Washington Bridge on Wednesday night, leaving behind a note detailing the “friends” who had been upsetting her recently.

In the note–which was left in her purse on the bridge’s walkway–Ashley Riggitano said that her friends were only interested in gossip and were “never there” for her in a real way. She also singled out a man she’d been in a relationship with who had treated her badly. The names of five women in her circle were given as those who should be banned from her funeral.

Riggitano was reportedly on medication–including Adderall and Klonopin–and had attempted suicide before. A Facebook exchange which allegedly occurred between her and a woman named Alison Tinari is being singled out as a possible contributing factor in the suicide.

“Go try to kill yourself on Xanax again, you unstable loser. Go f–k yourself and never speak to me again,” the post reportedly read.

The other women have been identified by a source–but not confirmed–to be Teresa Castaldo, Beth Bassil, Victoria Van Thunen and Samantha Horneff. Van Thunen was a partner with Riggitano in a jewelry business called Missfits; the company’s Facebook page has come under scrutiny this week as supporters of Riggitano share their thoughts on what happened.

  • Mom/Son Drug Kiss Gets Convict Some Pills

A “mom/son drug kiss” has gotten the mother of a convict in some serious trouble after she used the pretense of a liplock to deliver pills to her son.

54-year old Kimberly Margeson allegedly placed two Oxycodones in her mouth before visiting her son, 30-year old William Partridge, in a New York prison. At the end of their visit, authorities say, she slipped him some tongue…and the pills. She pleaded not guilty earlier this week to criminal sale of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband, and Partridge is being charged with promoting prison contraband, as well. He was serving time on a weapons charge.

  • 666 Stamped W-2 Leads To Employee Quitting His Job

A man in Clarksville, Tennessee has resigned from his job of two years because he received a W-2 form stamped with “666″, which is known in religious circles as the “mark of the beast”.

52-year old Walter Slonopas says he and the company have had issues with the number before, and this was his breaking point. On his first day on the job, he was to be given a time-clock number of 668; however, due to a mistake by the human resources department, the number he got was 666. After making a complaint, he was issued a new number. But when the company upgraded their time system, he was given the offending digits again. After that, he says, he quit, but the company rectified the situation and he accepted their offer to come back to work.

But the mark of the devil just keeps finding him, it seems, as he was recently mailed a W-2 that had the number stamped on it. The company says the number is simply a way for them to keep track of how many were mailed out, but Slonopas doesn’t care. He’s quit for a second time, and says he won’t go back.

“I am completely at a loss for words,” he said. He added that he can’t file his taxes until the company sends him a new form.

“If you accept that number, you sell your soul to the devil,” he said.

  • Manson Stage Collapse: Rocker Passes Out While Singing

Marilyn Manson is, obviously, no stranger to theatrics and weirdness. If you’re familiar with his music or his shows, you know he’s not afraid to get a little weird with it. That’s what his fans love about him.

But some fans in Saskatoon, Canada were left very confused last night when the musician warbled and swayed his way through part of “The Beautiful People” before collapsing just an hour into the show. He fell over onstage as his bandmates kept playing and was eventually dragged away by roadies. One fan captured video of the whole thing:

Apparently, no explanation was given to the audience as the house lights went up. Twitter is buzzing today with news of the story, and rumor has it that the flu played a part:

  • Cruise Ship Singer Mystery: How Did She Die?

The death of a 24-year old cruise ship singer has baffled investigators and has left those who knew her with too many unanswered questions.

The body of Jackie Kastrinelis was found in her cabin on Sunday after the ship had docked in Australia, and after an investigation of the room, police say they don’t believe foul play was involved. However, her family is seeking any information they can get from someone aboard the ship who might have seen or heard something. Their information is listed here.

There is some speculation that Kastrinelis’ death may have come as a direct result of a head injury she sustained during a rehearsal on board the Seven Seas Voyager, but nothing has been confirmed at this time. An autopsy and toxicology report are still pending. Those who knew the young woman have been shocked and saddened by the news.

“She stood out a little bit brighter … but you can say that about anybody,” Michael Morris, the director of music for the University of Hartford School of Theatre division, said. “But about Jackie it is absolutely true.”

The cruise line, owned by Regent, released a statement regarding her passing.

“The Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ family is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Jackie. Our hearts and prayers go out to her family and loved ones.”

  • “The Walking Dead”: New Ad Is Finger-Hacking Good

“The Walking Dead” is set to return to us on Sunday after a mid-season hiatus apparently meant just for our torture, and their ads are pretty dope. First there was the Time Warner Cable Super Bowl ad that had Daryl making a mess in a stressed-out mom’s living room, and now there’s a giant installation in Union Station in Toronto that’s taking the web by storm.

The ad features two zombie hands, and every day until the premiere, a finger is hacked off. Well done, AMC. Well done.

  • “Dark Patch” In Brain May Predict Criminal Activity

When reading or hearing stories about the atrocities we humans can commit against one another, it’s easy to wonder what makes people do the things they do. Can “evil” behavior–such as murder, child abuse, and rape–be predicted by a particular spot in the brain?

Some researchers believe it can, and are looking at evidence collected in brain scans of criminals to prove it. Dr. Gerhard Roth, a neurologist, says that his study of the brains of people who have committed heinous crimes have all shown a similar dark spot in the same area; his belief is that different behavior dictates that the brain must be different, as well, not unlike those who suffer from learning disorders.

“When you look at the brain scans of hardened criminals, there are almost always severe shortcomings in the lower forehead part of the brain,” Roth said. “There are cases where someone becomes criminal as a result of a tumor or an injury in that area, and after an operation to remove the tumor, that person was completely normal again. When I will look at young people, and I see there are developmental disorders in the lower forehead brain, I can say that there is a felon in the making with 66 percent probability.”

In every brain scan he did on criminals during his studies for the German government, Roth says the dark spot showed up.

“We showed these people short films and measured their brain waves,’ he said. “Whenever there were brutal and squalid scenes the subjects showed no emotions. In the areas of the brain where we create compassion and sorrow, nothing happened.”

But Roth says that psychopathic behavior is not entirely dependent on that “evil spot”; some people may be genetically predisposed to it, and some are raised in environments which exacerbate the problem. He also says that these behaviors often start in childhood and are not difficult to detect.

“It is the task of society to offer widespread support to the children and their parents before they become criminals,” he said.

  • Zimmerman Denied Trial Delay On Martin’s Birthday

George Zimmerman, the man who fatally shot an unarmed teenager last year after an altercation while the boy was walking home, has been denied the chance to delay his trial, which is set to begin in June.

Zimmerman claims he shot in self-defense after he approached 17-year old Trayvon Martin for looking “suspicious” as the boy walked home from the store. Zimmerman was a self-appointed neighborhood watchman at the time and had called police to alert them of a suspicious presence; they advised him to stay away from the boy, but he confronted him anyway and a fight ensued. If convicted, Zimmerman faces 25 years to life in prison.

Zimmerman’s attorneys originally asked for the trial to be pushed back so they could have more time to prepare and so they could raise money for his defense, but Judge Debra Nelson ruled that the trial would start on time.

“The state has virtually unlimited resources to prosecute George,” Zimmerman’s defense attorney Mark O’Mara said. “To finance his defense, however, George relies on the generosity of individuals who believe he is innocent.”

Outside the courthouse, supporters of Martin and his family gathered with candles and handmade signs featuring photos of the boy. Tuesday would have been his 18th birthday.

“The spirit of Trayvon Martin was definitely in the courtroom today on what would have been his 18th birthday. The judge ruled that the trial would not be delayed,” Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump said.

  • Stuart Freeborn Dies: Star Wars Makeup Artist Was 98

Stuart Freeborn has been credited with creating some of the most recognizable faces of the past forty years and has been called a “legend” by “Star Wars” director George Lucas. Indeed, the artist behind Yoda, Jabba, and Chewbacca had already worked on several successful/future classic films, such as “2001: A Space Odyssey”, “Superman”, and “The Omen”. Having began his career in 1936, he often took jobs that would leave him uncredited in the film’s list of contributors just so he could have the experience. He quickly rose in the industry to become one of the top names in makeup and special effects.

“He brought with him not only decades of experience, but boundless creative energy,” George Lucas said. “His artistry and craftsmanship will live on forever in the characters he created. His “Star Wars” creatures may be reinterpreted in new forms by new generations, but at their heart, they continue to be what Stuart created for the original films.”

Freeborn once said that he felt pulled into a creative life, shunning a more traditional job in favor of what he loved.

“I didn’t want to spend my life in an office,” he said. “I felt I was different.”

Freeborn died on Tuesday at the age of 98, his granddaughter confirmed. Michelle Freeborn also said her grandfather was her hero and inspired her to go to work in the film industry.

“He was a really fun and imaginative individual.” she said. “He gave you the feeling that if you wanted to achieve something, you should just get on and do it, and don’t ever use excuses. He enjoyed life and the amazing world we live in.”

  • Lucy Lawless Sentenced To 120 Hours Community Service

Lucy Lawless, who rose to stardom playing Xena the Warrior Princess, has been sentenced to 120 hours of community service stemming from her staged protest on an oil-drilling ship last summer.

Lawless and several other protestors set up camp on the ship last June to voice their anger at Shell Todd Oil Services for making oil explorations in the Arctic. They stayed for four days before being arrested for trespassing, and Lawless faced up to three years in jail time. Luckily for her, she and the other protesters were given the community service order and must pay a fine of about $550.

The actress says she doesn’t mind the sentence at all and was happy to have brought the actions of the oil company to the attention of others. She’s also happy the judge dismissed the company’s demand for reparations–which totaled around $550,000–and called them “ludicrous”. The reparations were brought up in court because the company’s expedition was delayed by the protest.

Still, Lawless has said this won’t stop her from activism.

“This chapter has ended, but the story of the battle to save the Arctic has just begun. Seven of us climbed up that drill ship to stop Arctic drilling, but 133,000 of us came down,” she said. “We will continue to stand in solidarity with the communities and species that depend on the Arctic for their lives until Shell cancels its plans to drill in this magical world, and makes the switch to clean, sustainable energy.”

  • Nanny Caught On Camera Slapping, Shaking 5-Month Old

A nanny in Staten Island has been arrested after a surveillance video captured her hitting and shaking a 5-month old because the child refused to eat.

The woman, 52-year old Mamura Nasirova, had displayed questionable behavior before in front of the child’s parents, so they decided to install a camera inside a carbon monoxide detector, which was on a live feed viewable to them while they were at work.

“I seen her one time, she just dragged them along. I said, ‘Don’t drag them like that.’ She said, ‘They don’t listen, you have to let them know who the boss is,’” neighbor Margaret Meekins said.

Nasirova was also in charge of the baby’s 17-month old brother, who was not harmed at the time, but the baby girl suffered redness and swelling where she was hit. The nanny has been charged with endangering a child and resisting arrest and is in jail on a $1,000 bond.

  • 9-Year Old Gives Birth, Father On The Run

A 9-year old girl in Guadalajara, Mexico has given birth to a baby girl. Authorities there are looking for her “boyfriend”, a 17-year old who ran off after the girl refused to move in with him.

Investigators believe the pregnancy came about as the result of rape, but the girl, identified as Dafne, says the two of them were in a “loving relationship”. She didn’t understand the pregnancy, however, and didn’t even realize that she was carrying a child until she was in her seventh month. Because she’s so young and is clearly confused, authorities don’t know if they can take her story as truth.

State prosecutor Lino Ginzalez Corona said, “Due to her young age, we don’t know if she is being entirely truthful.”

Because of the seriousness of the case, authorities are doing everything they can to track down the father.

“We are looking for the young man to get his story because she does not understand what has happened. This is a rape or child sex abuse case,” Jorge Villasenor, also of the state prosecutor’s office, said.

Dafne is reportedly doing fine after the C-section birth, although she may have physical problems later in life due to having a child at such a young age. And while it is shocking to most that a child could even become pregnant, it’s not unheard of. In 2010, a 9-year old Chinese girl gave birth to a baby boy. A legal representative was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying that in China, a person under the age of 14 does not have sexual rights, therefore proof of the child being sexually active is automatically considered to be rape.

  • Paul Tanner Dies: Legendary Musician Was 95

Paul Tanner, who was the last surviving member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, has died of complications from pneumonia. He was 95 years old.

Tanner played trombone for the popular jazz ensemble from 1938-1942 before moving on to play at movie studios; he later had a successful career as a music professor at UCLA, and in the late ’50s famously partnered with inventor Bob Whitsell to create a new musical instrument called the Electro-Theremin. This version of the theremin–an instrument which can be played without touch due to sensitive antennae on top–allowed the musician to have greater control over the sounds and pitches it produced, and was used to great effect on the Beach Boys song “Good Vibrations”.

Tanner’s second wife, Jeanette, said that he had a profound influence on his music students and often received letters from them years after graduation, thanking him for his time.

“He used to crowd the auditorium area where he had his classes, and it got so full that the fire department closed the doors and wouldn’t let any more in. I still get letters from people that were his students. They said that he changed their life,” she said.

All in all, not a bad career for a boy from Skunk Hollow, Kentucky. Tanner is survived by his wife and two stepsons.

  • Robin Sachs Dies: “Buffy” Actor Was 61

Robin Sachs, who played the mortal enemy of Watcher Rupert Giles on “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”, has died of undisclosed causes. He was 61 years old.

Sachs enjoyed a long career in the entertainment industry, which began in 1972 and included roles in “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” and on the television shows “Star Trek: Voyager” and “Babylon 5″. He also did voice work for several popular video games, such as Mass Effect 2 and 3 and the Resident Evil series. Sachs enjoyed the sci-fi genre and his passion for it can be seen in many of the roles he chose.

Few details are available at this time regarding his death, but sources say he did pass away last Friday. A note was posted on his website and is being used as the official statement.

“This is a post we never thought we would have to write…

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Robin Sachs.

Please join us in raising a glass to Robin – goodbye, dear friend. Thank you for all the laughter and the cookies. We will miss you so very much.

  • Dog With Human Face: Adoption, Anyone?

“Dog with human face” isn’t something you hear everyday (unless it’s a photoshopped meme), but when a photo of a dog with soulful eyes hit Buzzfeed recently, it went viral.

Turns out the pup’s name is Tonik and he hails from a kill shelter in Kentucky, where he was rescued by the Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group in Indiana. Authorities there say he’s a sweet-natured boy who gets along well with other dogs, and they’re hoping to find someone to adopt him.

  • 3 Killed In Denver Shooting, Including Two Children

Police are saying that a tragic shooting in Denver today which left one adult and two children dead may have been a murder-suicide committed by a mother.

While details are still coming in, it has been reported that the children were under the age of ten. A third child, believed to be two years old, was rushed to surgery. The child’s father allegedly spoke to 911 operators and was hysterical while relaying the incident.

Officers are still investigating the events that led up to the shooting after responding early this morning. One witness–a neighbor–said he heard a gunshot around five a.m. before a vehicle sped down the street, but investigators say they don’t believe an outside party is involved.

“It appears to be an isolated incident. We are talking to people, we are now talking to witnesses, but we have no indication that there is a shooter out there on the loose in Denver,” Lt. Matt Murray said.

Detectives are sympathetic to a neighborhood in shock and ask for patience while they sort out the details.

“I would ask that we all keep those involved — those that are going to be faced with this horrible tragedy — in our thoughts,” Denver Police Chief Robert White said.

  • Skimpy Beckham Ad Stirs Up The Web

David Beckham isn’t shy about showing us his body–a fact most of us are grateful for–and he’s got a new H&M ad out to prove it.

Beckham, who has a knack for clothing design like his wife Victoria, partnered with H&M last year for a line of underwear and sleepwear. Since then, he’s released a couple of ab-baring ads that give us a glimpse at just what soccer will do for a body. The latest photos come courtesy of a commercial that looks more like a short film, wherein Beckham takes on the role of an action hero and saves the day, all while in his underwear. Here’s a sneak peak of the ad, which was directed by Guy Ritchie.

Beckham says he always enjoys the look of the ads because of the quality, but he will never get used to seeing himself in them.

“No matter how many campaigns I do with H&M, I will never get used to seeing myself on billboards,” he said. “It’s always a surprise to me when I see them. I’m lucky to work with such great photographers and stylists, so the images are always the best they can be.”

  • Fox Cuts Ties To Dick Morris After Campaign Prediction

Fox has severed ties with pundit Dick Morris after an embarrassing admission regarding his predictions for the presidential election.

Of course, it’s being reported that the contract between Morris and Fox is expiring anyway, but it’s widely believed that Fox wanted to cut away from Morris after he sided with Mitt Romney in a “landslide” win for the presidency and then backtracked when his prediction didn’t pan out. He’s also been criticized for allegedly accepting paid advertisements on his website from candidates he endorsed.

“We’re going to win by a landslide. It will be the biggest surprise in recent American political history. It will rekindle a whole question as to why the media played this race as a nail-biter, where in fact I think that Romney is going to win by quite a bit. My own view is that Romney is going to carry 325 electoral votes,” he predicted. But when he came under fire for his remarks, he quickly took a different stance:

“I hope people aren’t mad at me about it … I spoke about what I believed and I think that there was a period of time when the Romney campaign was falling apart, people were not optimistic, nobody thought there was a chance of victory and I felt that it was my duty at that point to go out and say what I said. And at the time that I said it, I believe I was right,” he told Sean Hannity.

Morris hasn’t appeared on the network much since the election results came in, but he is scheduled to be a guest on “Piers Morgan Tonight” this evening.
