  • Tesla Competes in VEA Monte-Carlo Rally

    American electric car manufacturer Tesla announced it has entered the 2010 Monte Carlo Rally for Alternative Energy Vehicles (VEA) with two teams, after last year the Roadster became category winner and also set a new world record for an electric vehicle.

  • BMW 535i Gran Turismo Uses BorgWarner Twin Scroll Turbocharger

    The new 3.0lr six-cylinder inline direct injection gasoline engine used in the BMW 535i Gran Turismo features BorgWarner’s twin scroll turbochargers, which allows it to reach a total output of 306 horsepower and 400 Nm of low-end torque.

  • Ecclestone Thinks Schumacher May Stay in F1 for 10 Years

    Although Michael Schumacher signed only a 3-year deal with Mercedes GP for a return to Formula One racing, the series chief executive Bernie Ecclestone seems rather optimistic – to say the least – about the chances of seeing the 41-year old German race in the series longer than that.   • Ford Supplies Focus RS for Students’ Team Competing at Nurburgring

    Ford Europe has signed a support partnership with the Cologne University of Applied Science, a project that will see the carmaker support the motorsport team of the University at this year’s 24-hour Nurburgring race.

    Shortly after introducing the new Titanium Chronograph, Porsche Design launched the second diving watch in more than 25 years. The new P’6780 Diver timepiece is powered by automatic movement, handles depths of up to 1,000 metres and features a dial that offers excellent readability in the dark.

  • Virgin Confirm Their Car’s Fuel Tank Is Too Small

    Several reports in recent days have hinted that Virgin Racing did not get it quite right in terms of fuel tank with their 2010 single-seater.   • Australian GP Organizers Bring Pit Lane Speed to 60 kph

    The 2010 Australian Grand Prix will present the drivers with yet another new rule, this time linked with pit lane speed. According to a statement from the Aussie organizers, the speed limit in the pit lane for both the Saturday qualifying session and Sunday race has been lowered to no less than 60 km/h (approximately 37 mph).

    Fernando Alonso did not hide his disappointment for failing to do the number of laps programed by the Scuderia for Friday, in Australia.     JE DESIGN has developed a new tuning kit for a car that was already special when it left the factory, the SEAT Leon Cupra R.

    America manufacturer Ford is displaying the new Ford Fiesta sedan these days at the Bangkok Motor Show in Thailand.   • GM to Repay Loan in Full This Year

    In a news which will somewhat upset those hoping GM will not be able to repay the loans it received last year from the US government, the company’s (still) CEO Ed Whitacre announced yesterday the carmaker will make it’s second quarterly loan payment to both the US Treasury and the Export Development Canada.
