The Britster, 29, has fronted two campaigns for juniors apparel brand Candie’s — and in an unorthodox move for a celeb whose very livelihood depends on imagery, Spears has allowed Candie’s to release the unaltered version of her latest shoot for their label.

The pop star’s whole body has been trimmed down with the use of digital photography: camera’s even zapped Brit’s tramp stamp from the final images. Insiders say the star wants her young fans to have a healthy body image and to understand the tricks that technology can play when it comes to those seemingly-flawless promos that are often used to sell food, music, and clothing.

“Britney is proud of her body – imperfections and all,” a source told The Daily Mirror

Spears isn’t the only star to fight back against the of retouching images to make celebrities appear “perfect” – a trend that causes women to develop unhealthy views of their own bodies.

Jessica Simpson recently appeared on the cover of Marie Claire, without makeup or retouching.

Talk about an unlikely couple! Kristen Stewart’s perma-scowl is gonna be working overtime once she gets wind of reports that Robert Pattinson — her rumored love interest on and off the set of the Twilight films — has been secretly bumping uglies with Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester.

Like Mother, Like Daughter: Aspiring singer Alexa Ray Joel is making her debut as the new face (and hair) of Prell Shampoo, nearly 25 years after her model mom Christie Brinkley showed off her luxurious locks in a 1986 commercial for the one-time haircare giant.

This is Alexa’s first ad campaign for Prell, but she’ll also be shooting a fall campaign for the brand. Looks like Alexa’s bouncing back very well after she was hospitalized for taking a handful of homeopathic pain pills in her Manhattan apartment on Dec. 5.

Trashley Dupre, the former call girl at the center of the 2008 sex scandal that got Eliot Spitzer booted from New York’s Governor’s Mansion, has bared all for a steamy eight-page pictoral in the May edition of Playboy Magazine.

“I had a lot of fun doing these pictures,” Dupre, now 24, said of her photoshoot with the iconic men’s mag. “You’re naked and you’re in front of a bunch of guys – good-looking guys, too, manly men. If I had [posed] right after, I would have been known as Spitzer’s girl,” she explained. “Now that I waited, it’s now more about me, my story.”

Aww snap! It seems Akon’s got a bone to pick with Christina Aguilera. The “Smack That”s star is growing tired of the persistent comparisions between the petite powerhouse and his protege, pop queen of the hour Lady Gaga. Christina — who drops her new LP Bionic this June — has been accused of swagger jacking Gaga since she emerged from a de facto maternity leave with blonde bangs and a saucy new look almost two years. Akon thinks its high time he weighed in on the debate, he thinks Christina is imitating Gaga when she should be in the studio working on tracks that showcase the impeccable voice that’s kept her in the limelight for more than a decade.

“Aw man, that’s not even any competition,” Akon tells VIBE. “You are actually giving Christina too much credit. She always had her cool little look and way about how she went about things. But soon as Gaga came out everything switched up. Christina stepped out of her own shell to become something different. And the crazy thing is Christina is really talented. She has unlimited range when it comes to singing. Her voice is out of here. I just think she just needs to believe in herself more. I think sometimes she gets insecure because of all of the success Gaga has had not realizing that she was already successful before Gaga came out.”

He adds that on Bionic, Christina should stick to the power ballads that show off her outstanding vocal range as opposed to the up-tempo dance anthems that are more Gaga’s staple.

“I miss the old Christina Aguilera. I like the old one better than the new one. Honestly, Gaga and Christina could probably get together and do something that’s amazing. But that’s impossible if they are both trying to do the same exact thing musically.”

Showgirls star Elizabeth Berkley, best remembered for her role on the ’80s TNBC series Saved By The Bell, is continuing her work with young women by publishing “a self-esteem handbook for teen girls” based on questions she has been asked over the years.

Berkley — who is founder of the teen advice website Ask-Elizabeth.com — is presently working on Ask Elizabeth: Real Answers to Everything You Secretly Wanted to Ask About Love, Friends, Your Body…And Life in General, a life manual published by Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers and due to arrive on shelves in the Spring of 2011.

The lineup for NBC The TODAY Show’s annual Toyota-sponsored summer concert series was revealed on Tuesday, and the nation’s No. 1-rated morning show will host a bevy of music’s biggest stars in a two month series that kicks off in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza next month.

Sting will inaugurate this year’s series with a live show on May 14. The newest American Idol winner and runner-up will also be dropping in right after the Idol finale at the end of May. On June 8, Christina Aguilera will play a full half-hour concert to launch Bionic, her first studio album in four years. Other artists set to take the stage live on TODAY this year include Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Maxwell, Carrie Underwood, and Lady Gaga.

We sure hope Jessica Simpson won’t be tuned in when Glee makes its eagerly-awaited return to FOX this Tuesday.

The hit TV musical takes a low-blow at the blonde in the form of a voiceover by Cory Monteith’s Finn that will air on tonight’s season premiere.

“Sometimes I wish I could be more like Coach Tanka. He pulled a Jessica Simpson — you know, lost his fiancé, gained 40 pounds, stopped showering, and everyone acts like that is totally normal….”

Ryan Phillippe’s got a new rule for dating: “No one with a publicist!”

The Crash hunk is on the hunt for love…..as long as you don’t have “people,” an agent, or anyone else capable of leaking information to the press.

“I have a new rule not to date anyone who has a publicist,” Ryan told Howard Stern on Sirius XM radio on Monday. Ryan’s still healing after either dumping or being dumped by (depending on who’s telling the story) ex-girlfriend Abbie Cornish last February. Therefore the star wasted no time hitting out at the Aussie actress and her loose-lipped representatives when quizzed on the split by Stern: “Who announces a breakup?” Ryan fumed. “I don’t understand that! There’s no need for that.”

Oh — and while we’re on the topic, Ryan’s really tired of how he’s been treated by the media, since his split from former wife of seven years Reese Witherspoon in 2007. “I’ve been dumped on in the press for relationship stuff since Reese and I divorced. I’m tired of getting shit on. I don’t feel like I deserve it. Things happen!”

Ryan, 35, adds that not only are he and Reese great friends, they even help each other through breakups.

Ryan – – who has daughter Ava, 10, and six-year-old son Deacon with Witherspoon — said: “It’s gotten to a place where we’re great friends and great co-parents. After I had my breakup, she called, and after she did, I called.”

Despite their closeness, Ryan insists he hasn’t been intimate with Reese since they called it quits.

“That’s never happened.”

Kirstie Alley “feels good” about the engagement of her 17-year-old son, True, who plans to wed his girlfriend once the young lovers turn 18 later this year.

(One of those carb-filled snacks Kirstie’s been scarfing down must have wiped out the girl’s common sense. Kids getting married this young is almost always a disaster waiting to happen…..)

In an appearance on Tuesday’s Ellen, the unlucky-in-love reality star says she fully supports True’s decision to get married because he and his fiancée are “really in love.”

“True’s got a level head. He’s a good guy. He’s very monogamous, and he’s very sweet with her,” Kirstie told Ellen. “You know, I was married at was I was just 19 years old and that didn’t work. Then I was married when I was 30 years old and that’s when everyone said you should get married and that didn’t work. So, I don’t think I’m an expert on the subject. So, I think if somebody’s in love and wants to be married then let them be in love and get married.”

Kirstie adopted True – whose real name is William True Stevenson – along with daughter Lillie Price, 15, during her marriage to Parker Stevenson, who she divorced in 1997. Kirstie only hopes that True and his bride-to-be do not inherit her ill-fated history with relationships. Alley once said of True: “I’m sooo lucky..my SON LOVES and respects women and he actually cherishes them..he is a DREAM to be around..for both men and women.”

The former Fat Actress star is currently starring in Kirstie Alley’s Big Life on A&E.

Elizabeth Rasmuson is all bubbly over her one-of-a-kind high school prom dress made out of gum wrappers.

The high school junior from Iowa made the dress — and a matching vest for her boyfriend — out of blue and white wrappers from Wrigley’s “5 Gum.” She says she got the idea for the designs after she heard about a senior who had created a gown with duct tape. The teens began collecting gum wrappers for their prom night ensembles since last August, but since the wrappers break easily, Elizabeth topped off her design with vinyl top coat.

Jake Gyllenhaal is “okay” with being single and in an introspective place after the death of his beloved pal Heath Ledger changed his priorities.

Gyllenhaal called it quits with longtime girlfriend Reese Witherspoon in December and has since adopted a relaxed outlook on life, he tells GQ Magazine’s May edition:

“I think it’s important for every man to find the right woman and every woman to find the right man….Who am I to say what the most important thing in life is? The best answer I could give to any of those things is that I really don’t know. Particularly right now in my life.”

Inglourious Basterds director Quentin Tarantino is considering helping Lindsay Lohan resurrect her off-the-rails career by casting the former Mean Girl in a proposed horror film, a scoop from celebrity website Absolutenow.com claims.

Tarantino is said to have a “hardcore” character in mind for the troubled 23-year-old star in an effort to stop her once thriving film career from becoming just a blip on Hollywood’s radar.

“Lindsay is just the kind of character Quentin loves,” an insider told AbsoluteNow.com. “No one expects her to do anything significant on film ever again, but he has at least one role he feels she would be perfect for. It’s a shocking, hardcore character but it will put her back on the map much as Quentin did for John Travolta.”

Travolta’s career was also in a downward spiral before the director cast him as heroin addict hitman Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction.

The acclaimed filmmaker has long been rumored to be a fan of Lindsay’s work — and even praised the fiery star as a “terrific actor” in an interview with London’s Daily Star August.

“I’ve always loved Lindsay. She is a terrific, terrific actor. I think the work she did in Freaky Friday was just top notch acting,” Tarantino allegedly said.

Lindsay furthered wowed Tarantino’s director buddy Robert Rodriguez on the set of Machete, which co-stars Robert DeNiro and Jessica Alba.

As one who knows what it’s like to be 17 and pregnant, GOP daughter Bristol Palin is a big fan of 16 and Pregnant, the MTV docu-soap that follows expectant teen mothers as they live through the consequences of their premature pregnancies.

“I hope other young girls and even young guys should know that having a child is not glamorous at all,” the 19-year-old daughter of conservative politican Sarah Palin tells MTV.com.

Bristol says she appreciates that 16 & Pregnant doesn’t “glamorize” teen sex or early motherhood.

“They make it seem like there are no consequences to it. But there are tremendous consequences,” she added. “‘16 and Pregnant’ shows that.”

Bristol — who has a one-year-old son with her high school sweetheart Levi Johnston — recently starred in an anti-teen pregnancy campaign with The Candie’s Foundation.

MTV is casting for a spinoff series of its popular reality docu-soap, this one set in Boston. The network is currently casting for the new series – called Wicked Summer – which is scheduled to begin production in July, E! Online reported this week.

Interested? Here’s what Wicked Summer is looking for: “The hottest girls and proudly buff guys who believe in God, family, politics, sports, beer and partying! You share a love for muscle cahs, hair products, and little necks on the frickin half shell. You don’t take shit from nobody — least of all each othah.”

Wicked Summer cast mates are also expected to be a fixture on the Beantown club scene and to exhibit a command of Boston’s distinct New England accent.

The second season of Jersey Shore premieres July 29.
