Christina Aguilera North American summer tour has been cancelled indefinitely to give the singer more time to rehearse for the performances.

After a three year hiatus, the “Beautiful” hitmaker returns to the music scene with a new album, Bionic, dropping next month. Xtina had been due to kick off her trek in July, but now promoters have pushed the dates all the way back until 2011.

While there are some ramblings about poor tickets sales, representatives from Live Nation are citing Aguilera’s heavy work schedule for the cancellation, revealing she needs more time to prepare.

“The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn’t possible,” a representative said in a statement Tuesday.

We should mention that Aguilera — whose latest music video “Not Myself Tonight” was almost universally panned — has been plagued by reports that her new sexed-up image was inspired by pop “It Girl of the Hour,” Lady Gaga.

Ticket refunds for the Bionic Tour are available from the point of purchase.

Some people use their cellphones to keep in touch for friends and family — Joe Jonas uses his to ditch dead weight. The Jonas Brothers singer, who split from Taylor Swift in a 37-second phonecall two years ago, reportedly used the same method to end his romance with Demi Lovato just days ago.

Despite an early report claiming Jonas called it quits with Lovato in a face-to-face confrontation over her media-friendly chats about their relationship, Us Weekly tattles claim Joe actually ditched Demi via mobile because he “didn’t have the heart to do it in person.”

“He thought it wasn’t a good idea for them to be dating and working together all time and was afraid it was ruining the friendship.”

Jonas, 20, and Lovato, 17, met in 2007 while filming The Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock. They confirmed their romance in a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest in March.

Neither Jonas nor Lovato has commented. The pair is set to tour together this summer.

A little food for thought: If you’re not mature enough to sever ties with someone respectfully — and face-to-face — perhaps you’re not mature enough to be dating at all.

Kelly Bensimon — star of Bravo’s hit docu-soap The Real Housewives of New York City — says she’s hasn’t flown over the cuckoo’s nest…Not yet anyway.

The former model is speaking out about the odd behavior she displayed on last week’s show. Appearing dishelved and sleep-deprived, Kelly launched into a “crazy” rant complete with jellybeans and talk of Al Sharpton on an episode that premiered last Thursday. The bizarre turn of events has left devoted Real Housewives fans scratching their heads and questioning Bensimon’s mental stability.

Kelly just doesn’t get what all the fuss is about.

“Some people are like, ‘You had a breakdown,’ and I’m like, ‘No, I had a breakthrough.’ I just let go, I was crying, just, like, stop harassing,” Kelly tells New York Magazine’s Culture Vulture. “I’m completely honest, I have a ton of integrity, and I love doing this show. The minute that I walk into the room, I create a frenetic energy — it’s not kinetic, it’s not, like, a forward motion, it’s just like this stagnant frenetic energy. And let’s be honest, it makes for awesome TV. I mean, haters are part of the ecosystem, and if they’re not hating on you, you’re not doing something right.”

Er — we’re not sure, Kelly. Sounds a bit meltdown-ish to us!

Lady Gaga loves a good Lady Gaga rumor — even a gender-bending one that calls her womanhood into question.

“I love the rumor that I have a penis. I’m fascinated by it. In fact, it makes me love my fans even more that this rumor is in the world because 17,000 of them come to an arena every night and they don’t care if I’m a man, a woman, a hermaphrodite, gay, straight, transgender, or transsexual. They don’t care! They are there for the music and the freedom,” Gaga remarked in an interview with French entertainment show Sept a Huit over the weekend. “This has been the greatest accomplishment of my life, to get young people to throw away what society has taught them is wrong. Simon Monjack, the husband of late actress Brittany Murphy, was found dead in his home in Hollywood Hills on Sunday night, and the Clueless star’s brother has some harsh words for the deceased screenwriter.

Tony Bertolotti — Brittany’s half-brother — tells RadarOnline.com that he was “not shocked” or saddened to learn of Simon’s passing.

“I wasn’t shocked to be honest. Monjack had all his wagons circled and he couldn’t do it any longer. I didn’t have a reaction to the news. The guy was insane he tried to keep my father’s name off (Murphy’s) the death certificate,” Bertolotti spat. “When I told my dad Angelo about the news he felt he same way. We are sad for my sister, not for him.”

“That’s two out of three people that have died living in that house within six months. When are people going to open their eyes about what was going on there?” he added. “Our family thinks that this thing will still blow-up, and that the truth will eventually come-out about our sister.”

Monjack, 39, was found by Murphy’s mother Sharon in the master bedroom of the house he once shared with his late wife — the same house she died in last December. The cause of death is being investigated, but the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office believes Monjack died of natural causes.

Months before his death, Simon Monjack’s mother revealed he was having health problems. In January, Linda Monjack told PEOPLE Magazine that her son was “unwell” and may have heart problems.

“On whether he has a heart problem it is not really for me to say, you must ask him, but yes, there have been health problems in the past. I believe it’s common knowledge, and it’s been in the press that he had a slight heart attack a week from Brittany’s death coming back from Puerto Rico….”

Murphy, 32, succumbed to pneumonia, drug intoxication, and iron deficiency last Dec. 20.

In news that will send Tweeners Tweeting in sorrow, the Celebrity Hotwire is ablaze with reports that Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato have called time on their virginal love affair less than six months after going public with the romance.

On Monday, Hollywood tattles dished the dirt to ZackTaylor.ca that Joe dumped Demi in a tearful conversation last week — after being pushed to the brink by the 17-year-old’s excessive blabbing to the press about their relationship.

“He doesn’t like everyone knowing everything, and that’s what ultimately pushed him over the top. They both care for each other a lot, just need a little ‘time-out’…” says an insider. “Joe and her had a conversation the other night about how quickly the seriousness of the relationship was getting, and wanted to slow things down a bit. Obviously Demi didn’t like what he had to say, but she respects him, and the two are calming things down…..”

The Jonas Brothers star — who famously dumped Taylor Swift by phone in 2007 — and Lovato made their relationship official in February, with Joe telling Idol Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show: “We’ve been best friends for the longest time and now we’re just kind of taking the next step and it’s been really fun. We’re having a great time. …. I guess we kind of figured that one day it would happen but we didn’t feel like it was the right time.”

Demi — Joe’s Camp Rock co-star — added: “Being best friends for a while, over time feelings grow, and for me, as much as I wanted to deny it, the feelings were always there.”

This new arrangement could prove a bit wonky for the former lovers; next month, The JoBros will be embarking on a three continent world tour with Lovato as their special guest.

Rihanna is lashing out at the fashion industry for promoting size zero figures and claiming it is “not practical or possible” to keep a figure in that shape and she resents designers for giving girls false ideologies about how they should look.

The 22-year-old bombshell has some of the longest legs in showbusiness and is famed for her slender frame. However Rihanna says that the fashion industry is not giving a “healthy” message to women.

The singing star tells Britain’s You Magazine: You shouldn’t be pressured into trying to be thin by the fashion industry, because they only want models that are like human mannequins. They know that if we see an outfit on a mannequin in a shop window we will love it and want to buy it whatever size we are. That’s why they have size zero models – they want to sell clothes. You have to remember that it’s not practical or possible for an everyday woman to look like that. Being size zero is a career in itself so we shouldn’t try and be like them. It’s not realistic and it’s not healthy.”

Park it, Ashton! There’s a new Sheriff raising through the social ranks of Twitter, and professional prankster Ashton Kutcher doesn’t seem too pleased about his Tweetin’ crown being snatched by a pop princess.

Over the weekend, Britney Spears soared past Ashton in Twitter followers, netting nearly 10,000 more devotees than Mr. Demi Moore — one of the world’s first celebrity Tweeters and the first person to attract 1 million followers on the site. At last count, Britney had 4,951,801 followers to Ashton’s 4,942,273.

Spears only sporadically posts updates to her Twitter, and Ashton — an avid updater — hinted that he wasn’t happy at being asked about his fall from social networking grace at a recent press junket for his new movie with Katherine Heigl, Killers.

“2nd most pop Q ‘What do U think about Brittney [sic] having more followers than u?’” Ashton angrily Tweeted early Sunday evening. “Answer ‘I don’t care. Aren’t u suppose 2B a movie reporter?’”

No alcohol, no drugs, no work outside of Los Angeles, and a not-so-trendy new bracelet — those are just a few of the rules Lindsay Lohan will have to abide by if she wants to remain free, a California judge said Monday.

Lohan avoided arrest after failing to show up for probation hearing by posting $100,000 bail, but still faces the other conditions imposed by the judge. In an early morning hearing in Los Angeles, Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel ruled that Lohan could remain free on bail, but she cannot consume alcohol, must wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet, is not allowed to leave the Los Angeles-area, and will have to submit to random weekly drug testing.

While a frustrated Lindsay looked on, her attorney — Shawn Chapman Holley — argued that the actress is beginning filming of a movie in Texas and needs the court’s OK to travel. Tough titty, says the judge, who suggested LiLo delay the start of the project. The bracelet — a SCRAM device — must be in place within 24 hours, per Judge Revel’s order.

Last week’s scheduled hearing involved a progress report on her probation stemming from two arrests in 2007. A July 6 court date has been set to review that matter. If it is determined that Lindsay has violated her probation in any way, she could face up to 180 days in jail.

Hayes has been tapped to emcee the 64th Annual Tony Awards — live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City — on Sunday, June 13, BroadwayWorld.com said Monday.

This is the first hosting stint for Hayes, who is also a nominee for in the category of Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for his role in the hit stage play Promises, Promises. He was also nominated by the Drama League and Outer Critics Circle.

Earlier this month, the Emmy-winning actor was targeted in a controversial Newsweek article criticizing gay actor’s ability to portray straight characters.
