  • Confirmed: Drea de Matteo Leaving “Desperate Housewives” At End Of Season

Drea de Matteo is leaving Desperate Housewives at the end of the season, series creator and executive producer Marc Cherry said on Thursday.

Earlier this year, the Emmy winner and her on screen alter ego Angie Bolen became the subject of rumors that the character was being booted from Wisteria Lane less than six months after her series premiere. Desperate producers denied the departure reports at the time, but Cherry has now confirmed that Drea’s character is being written out of the show — with a final airdate already set for this May.

Marc stresses that the ex-Sopranos star was only under contract for one season and is glad to be saying “Happy Trails” to the ABC dramedy so that she can return to the East Coast.

“Part of the deal when we hired Drea was she was only interested in doing one season,” he tells Entertainment Weekly. “She has a baby and is eager to get back to her life in New York.”

Cherry promises fans “an explosive finale,” in which “all the mysterious parts of her past will be revealed.”

  • Kendra Wilkinson On Postpartum Depression: “I Had Nothing To Live For”

Kendra Wilkinson is opening up about her crippling battle with postpartum depression, which the former Playboy Playmate claims left her feeling she had “nothing to live for” after becoming a new mom last December.

Wilkinson welcomed son Hank Baskett IV with her NFL star hubby, but the 24 year old struggled to adjust to motherhood and was pulled into a downward spiral of the post-baby blues, she told OK! Magazine this week.

“After giving birth, I never brushed my hair, my teeth, or took a shower. I looked in the mirror one day and was really depressed. I thought, ‘Look at me.’ I had this glamorous life in L.A., and now (in Indianapolis) I didn’t. A couple of times, I even said, ‘I just have nothing to live for.’”

The ex-Girl Next Door did manage to find one way to fight her way out of the funk — sex.

“[At] the doctor’s appointment following up on everything, he goes, ‘Have you guys had sex?’” Kendra explains. “This was, like, five weeks after. We were like, ‘I guess we have to be honest. Yes, we did.’ And he’s like, ‘Ugh! You can’t do that!’”

  • James Cameron “Okay” With Sacha Baron Cohen’s Oscars “Avatar” Sketch

James Cameron has given Sacha Baron Cohen the green light to mock his Oscar-nominated blockbuster Avatar at the upcoming Oscars — despite organizers quick move to scrap the sketch over fears it would offend the director.

The Borat star had been tipped to present a trophy at this Sunday’s star-studded Academy Awards, but once producers saw the ideas for his sketch — which reportedly included the comic dressing as a blue-skinned female Avatar creature who proclaims she is pregnant with Cameron’s child — the skit was axed.

Cameron, who is up for a Best Director prize, is adamant he will take any joke aimed at his film in good spirits.

He tells E! Online: “I don’t know anything about that… I don’t produce the Oscars. If they want to poke fun at Avatar (on) Sunday, that’s OK by me. The Oscars are a celebration of movies… even the gaffes and out of bounds stuff are all part of the fun.”

  • Audrina Patridge FHM UK April 2010 Bikini Pics

A bikini-clad Audrina Patridge poses on a sun-streamed beach for FHM UK. The doe-eyed brunette is the face of the British men’s mag’s Girls Of U.S. TV Special Edition, and editors used the opportunity to chat with Audrina about her start in reality TV.

Audrina reveals that securing a part on MTV’s The Hills – in which she stars alongside Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt – came down to being in the right place at the right time: “I was sunbathing with my friend and this guy came over,” she explains. “We’ve had guys coming up to us and asking for our numbers so we just assumed he was one of those, but it was The Hills creator Adam DiVello and he started talking to us and said I had a great look and would I be interested in being in his show. When he mentioned it was reality TV, I was like, ‘No thank you, I’m not headed in that direction,’ but then he said it was more of a soap documentary and I thought, ‘Well, it would be a good experience and get me used to being in front of the camera, so why not?’ Five years later I’m still doing it.”

  • Britney Spears’ Boyfriend Hates Her Music

Him Against The Music: Ke$ha has some company in her campaign to shut up Britney Spears. Word is even Britney’s own boyfriend — FYI: The guy who treated her to McDonald’s on Valentine’s Day — isn’t a fan of at least one of the lip-syncher’s famous pop tunes.

Talent agent Jason Trawick, who has been romantically-linked to Spears for nearly a year, had some choice words about his missus’ music while hanging out at Paris Hilton’s Studio 54-themed birthday bash (How many times is this woman going to turn 29), FOX News’ 411 Column reported Wednesday.

A spywitness told the column: “Jason arrived with a male friend, but was definitely enjoying himself until DJ Mr. Best, threw on Britney Spears’ song ‘Toxic.’ When the song came on the first thing out of Jason’s mouth was ‘OMG I hate this song!’ His friends all laughed and continued to talk, but he interrupted them by saying, ‘I’m sorry, I can’t hear what you’re saying over her voice.’ He wasn’t laughing….”

  • Ke$ha Slams Britney Spears

A blonde who can’t sing rips a pop icon with the vocal talents of a field mouse: Singing star Ke$ha shot to fame with her Billboard-topping single “Tik Tok” and was also featured on Britney Spears’ track “Lace And Leather,” but the 23-year-old partygirl is blasting Brit — and other singers like her — who lip-synch in concert.

Ke$ha says she was disappointed with Britney’s miming and lip-synching during her controversial “Circus World Tour” last year. I don’t know about you guys, but I find this hilarious. Doesn’t this noodle noogin know that neither one of them can sing?!

“I think that’s bullshit,” Ke$ha spat in a chat with the UK’s Daily Record this week. “I don’t think that’s fair at all for people who are going to see the show. I think if you are going to be a singer, you should sing. If you are going to be a dancer, you should dance. If you are going to do a combination of the two, you should make it very clear when you are singing and very clear when you are dancing.”

She adds: “I would never do that to my fans. No offense to her specifically but people have asked me before to mime. I have been up at three in the morning for a television show with jet lag but I refuse to mime.”
