  • Ke$ha Has A Crush On Ricky Gervais: “I’d Hit That….”

Ricky Gervais has been dating the same woman for 25 years – but The Office creator, 48, might find it reassuring that he can still turn the head of some of today’s young pop singers – especifically “TiK ToK” singer Ke$ha. The 22-year-old L.A. party girl, known for her glittery makeup and club anthem, has a thing for the portly comic, who she met at the Shockwaves NME awards earlier this week.

“I met [Meighan] backstage and he’s hot. You guys have a lot of hot babes over here,” Ke$ha told The Sun. “That fat guy who’s in The Office. I’d hit that.”

  • Carly Simon “You’re So Vain” Mystery Man Revealed?

Sorry Warren Beatty, this song is not about you!

Carly Simon has given the biggest clue yet into one of music’s great mysteries. Who inspired her hit 1972 song “You’re So Vain?” The identity of the singer’s former lover is revealed in a new acoustic version of the song, recorded for the 64-year-old’s greatest hits album.

“I’m just going to tell you this,” Carly said, speaking to Uncut Magazine this week. “The answer is on the new version of You’re So Vain. There’s a little whisper – and it’s the answer to the puzzle.”

The Sun claims the music legend is heard whispering “David” in an instrumental interlude as a reference to the long unidentified man. In fact, the London tabloid goes one step further and claims that Simon was talking about record exec David Geffen — who was head of Carly’s Elektra record label. Rather than being angry about a failed relationship, as long suggested, Carly is thought to have resented the effort Geffen put into promoting her rival Joni Mitchell.

  • Miss Beverly Hills Defends Anti-Gay Beliefs

Self-appointed Miss Beverly Hills Lauren Ashley (who is actually a native of Pasadena) is defending herself in a brewing controversy over remarks she made about homosexuals.

Last week, Ashley, 23, told FOX News’ 411 Column that same sex marriage goes against God and the Bible, and quoted a scripture that calls for gays to be executed. After her remarks went viral — even outraging the Mayor of Beverly Hills — Ashley and and her publicist stepped forward to downplay the comments. Lauren Ashley now believes the biblical passage isn’t something she or anyone else should take literally. However, it is still the basis for her beliefs against same-sex marriage.

Beverly Hills Mayor Nancy Krasne said Wednesday she is livid that the homophobe will be representing her city in the Miss California USA pageant in November. In a statement, .Krasne said Ashley does not live in Beverly Hills or represent the city in any capacity. Krasne said she was shocked to see statements made by the beauty queen under the name of Beverly Hills, “which has a long history of tolerance and respect.”

Miss California pageant laws allow a contestant to select which city they’d like to represent; residency or city approval are not necessary.

At a time like this, we all are reminded of the briefness of life and the importance of being ready for our eternal destination. My prayers will continue to be with Andrew’s family.”

  • Topless Lady Gaga Q Magazine Cover Banned In US

Lady Gaga’s topless cover feature on the March issue of Q Magazine has been banned by several major retailers in the US.

The “Poker Face” hitmaker made headlines when she walked out on a photoshoot with the magazine earlier this month when bosses at the publication refused to let her strike a controversial pose in a bid to poke fun at rumors that she is a hermaphrodite. Q editors eventually rearranged the shoot, but the final pictures show Gaga posing topless in just a pair of leather trousers.

On Thursday, Borders Booksellers was among a number of retailers to inform Q publishers that it will only stock the publication’s 285th edition if the 23-year-old’s exposed left breast is completely covered, Q’s official blog QTheMusic.com has revealed.

Some independent merchants — including those who own newsstands around the country — have opted to display the cover, as long as the magazine is enclosed in a sealed cover bag.

  • California Cuss Free Week Bans Profanity Throughout State For 7 Days

Californians better start watching their mouthes. On Thursday, the State Assembly passed a resolution that will establish the first week of March as “Cuss Free Week” throughout the state. The legislation was spearheaded by McKay Hatch, a Southern California teenager, who testified at the Capitol in Sacramento this week as part of the proposal to ban swearing in sunny Cali for seven days. McKay, 16, sees a link between foul-mouthed tirades and other forms of deviant behavior, such as drug use and bullying.

“Cuss Free Week,” if approved by the Senate, will begin next week. The resolution includes no enforcement mechanism, so offenders won’t be ticketed or cited in any way if they’re caught dropping a few “F-Bombs.” “The initiative is simply meant to promote greater harmony and connectedness,” says Assemblyman Anthony Portantino, who co-wrote the measure. Californians are encouraged to make “cuss-jars” using labels found on McKay’s website. If you use profanity, you should deposit cash or coins into the jar. McKay says at the end of the week money collected should be donated to charity.

  • Karina Smirnoff Cut From “Dancing With The Stars”

Karina Smirnoff has been booted from the professional lineup on Dancing With the Stars, E! Gossip Guy Marc Malkin has learned. Instead of burning up the floor with one of this season’s hasbeens, the Ukrainian dancer will instead be serving DWTS behind the scenes as a choreographer when the popular ballroom dancing competition returns for its 10th season this March.

The news comes after DWTS producers decided not to pair Karina with any of the 11 celebrity competitors joining the show this season. Smirnoff has previously competed with entertainment journalist Mario Lopez (who later became Karina’s cheating ex) and ex-boy bander Aaron Carter.

“She’s always been choreographing for the show. She’s a big part of the result shows. She’s like family there,” a Dancing snitch says. “It wasn’t easy. Producers cut people based on the celebrities and who they’d be a good match with.”

Interesting, but we wonder how much Smirnoff’s absence this season has to do with heavily-rumored feud with ex-fiance, and fellow DWTS professional dancer, Maksim Chmerkovskiy?

The new Dancing With The Stars celebrity lineup will be announced on The Bachelor finale, airing Monday, March 1. Season pair-ups will be revealed the following day on ABC’s Good Morning America.

  • Lady Gaga Cyndi Lauper V Magazine #64

“It’s quite awkward to be talking about my passion about the AIDS crisis and the gay community while doing my makeup but…Viva Glam!” — Lady Gaga, V Magazine 2010

This spring, kooky pop stars Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper join M.A.C. as the latest ambassadors of the cosmetics brand’s Viva Glam campaign, which has raised more than $130 million for the M.A.C. AIDS FUND since 1994. V Magazine caught up with the divas, who were snapped in a series of poses by famed photog Ellen von Unwerth, as they dished about their plans to help stop the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Gaga says: “I had an HIV test two days ago – and it’s not because I’m taking off my clothes every night with a different man. When I’m on the road, I forget about taking care of my body. I don’t go to the doctor as regularly as if I were in one place all the time. So I woke up and thought, ‘Oh, I’m home in New York. I’m going to see my gyno and I’m getting an HIV test.’”

Read Cyndi and Gaga’s chat about their Viva Glam campaign when V64 arrives on newsstands next month.
