  • Jennifer Lopez Dropped From Sony Music Epic Records

Jennifer Lopez is using her “Louboutins” to march to another record label! The platinum-selling singer/actress has parted ways with her longtime label home at Sony Music Epic, Deadline Hollywood is reporting.

We wonder if falling on her famous ass at the AMAs had anything to do with it?

    J. Lo insiders claim the decision was “a mutual one” between the star and label’s current CEO Rob Stringer. Benny Medina, Jennifer’s representative, confirmed the split in a brief statement issued Monday afternoon:

“Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction her career as an actress and recording artist. She is grateful and appreciative to everyone Sony for all that they accomplished together.”

Jennifer’s long-delayed 7th album, LOVE, had been set for release this April, but is now on the shelf indefinitely.

Sad times. For old times sake, I’ll leave you with my favorite J. Lo track (More like one of the few J. Lo tracks I actually find tolerable).

  • Christian Groups Slam Elton John’s “Jesus Was Gay” Comment

Did we or did we not tell that this interview was going to become a problem?

Singing icon Elton John Elton John is coming under fire for his recent remarks on religion and Jesus’ sexuality in an interview with Parade Magazine. At least two Christian civil rights organizations, including The Catholic League of America, have issued statements slamming the “Rocket Man” singer for “ignorance” and “intolerance” after Elton called Jesus a “compassionate gay man” in the interview published last week.

“I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems,” John, 62, told Parade at the time. “On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East—you’re as good as dead.”

Catholic League president Bill Donohue is livid over the pop star’s statements and promptly issued a scathing release ripping Elton as a “sexual deviant.”

“Jesus was certainly compassionate, but to say He was ’super-intelligent’ is to compare the Son of God to a successful game-show contestant,” Donohue said. “More seriously, to call Jesus a homosexual is to label Him a sexual deviant. But what else would we expect from a man who previously said, ‘From my point of view, I would ban religion completely.’”

The ultra-conservative Christian Voice is also taking offense with Elton’s remarks. Stephen Green, director of right-wing group, has dismissed the gay claim as “rubbish.”

“The Bible says Jesus was without sin and that rules out homosexuality,” he said. “This is a desperate cry for attention.”

  • Lindsay Lohan Blames Father Michael For Cocaine Addiction

Hollywood wild child Lindsay Lohan is coming clean about her well-publicized history of drug addiction in a candid chat with Britain’s The Sun on Monday. Lohan — who was arrested on DUI charges twice in 2007 — confesses that she came close to killing herself through a mix of alcohol and cocaine. And LiLo cites a very interesting culprit as the catalyst for her troubles: her ex-con dad, Michael.

Lindsay says she used alcohol and illegal substances to ease the pain of her personal problems, and claims the situation worsened when her father Michael started giving interviews about her upon his release from prison three years ago. The Georgia Rule actress got to know about cocaine because of her dad’s descent into addiction.

“When my father was going public, that’s when I hit rock bottom. I abused substances too much and it wasn’t the answer to my problems. I tried to mask my problems with alcohol, cocaine, and mind-altering substances. Now I’m in a place where I don’t need to use anything and I feel emotions because I choose to. I was only aware of cocaine because of my dad. I was terrified of it. But I tried it because I was stubborn, stupid and wanted to see what it was like.”

Michael continues to insist that Lindsay is addicted to prescription painkillers and regularly chats about the star’s alleged drug use to various online media outlets.
