  • Johnny Depp Fights For Freedom Of “West Memphis Three” [CBS “48 Hours Mystery”]

Johnny Depp is voicing his support for the so-called “West Memphis Three” on an episode of the CBS newsmagazine 48 Hour Mystery, set to air this Saturday, Feb. 27.

Depp has asked for the reopening of the case of three men convicted as teenagers of beating three 8-year-olds to death in 1994. Jason Baldwin, Jessie Misskelley, and Damien Echols have spent 16 years behind bars for the crime.

“I firmly believe Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley are totally innocent. It was a need for swift justice to placate the community. Damien Echols is on death row to be killed by lethal injection,” the Oscar-nominated actor bellows with conviction. Johnny believes the convictions were the outcome of the prosecution’s focus on the teens’ obsession with heavy metal music and Satanic rituals.

Depp joins fellow celebs Eddie Vedder, Metallica, Winona Ryder, and The Dixie Chicks, in supporting the young men.

Baldwin and Echols are serving life sentences, while Echolsis — who was 18 at the time of the slayings — is on death row.

  • Cheryl Cole Divorce — Girls Aloud Singer Dumps Cheating Husband Ashley Cole

Pop singer Cheryl Cole and her soccer star hubby Ashley are calling it quits after nearly four years of togetherness — likely because Ashley has spent much of the marriage getting “together” with everyone except his wife.

“Cheryl Cole is separating from her husband Ashley Cole. Cheryl asks the media to respect her privacy during this difficult time. We have no further comment to make,” Cheryl’s rep Sundraj Sreenivasan said in a press release issued Tuesday.

The announcement ends one of the most high-profile showbusiness marriages in the UK. Since their marriage in 2006, the athlete and the “Can’t Speak French” singer had become one of Britain’s most famous celebrity couples, with newspapers and paparazzi recording every detail of their daily lives.

Until now, Cheryl, 26, has maintained a dignified silence over reports that her husband is London’s answer to Tiger Woods. Ashley is accused of bedding numerous women behind his famous wife’s back.

Cheryl — dubbed FHM’s “Hottest Woman” in 2009 — rose to fame with the pop group Girls Aloud before launching a solo singing career in 2009.

  • Bruce Willis “Die Hard 5″ In The Works?

Sigh: Do we really need to see another Die Hard movie? Bruce Willis jumpstarted his career as a big-screen action man playing New York City cop John McClane in the 1988 blockbuster, which went on to spawn three follow-ups. Now 54, the actor is making plans to return to the Die Hard franchise, confirming that a fifth installment is currently in the works. The action star has suggested that he could “Die Hard” once more by the end of 2011.

Bruce says he’s in negotiations to reprise the role he made famous more than two decades ago — and he’s hoping to get Len Wiseman, who helmed 2007’s Live Free or Die Hard, to return for the next project.

“I think we’re going to do a Die Hard 5 next year. I would hire Len Wiseman right now (to direct).”

  • Andrew Koenig, Missing “Growing Pains” Actor, Spotted In Vancouver?

There’s possibly good news to report in the disappearance of Andrew Koenig…..

Police in Vancouver have renewed hope of finding former Growing Pains actor Andrew Koenig alive following a series of reported sightings of the missing former teen star.

Reports of sightings of the missing actor have been flooding Vancouver police stations by the dozens since news of Koenig’s disappearance hit the press on Sunday. According to TMZ.com, Vancouver Police have received numerous reports of Koenig sightings near Canada’s Vancouver Island and also reports of seeing the actor – who has been reported missing since Valentine’s Day – on islands closer to the city.

Koenig played Boner, the best friend of Mike Seaver on the hit ’80s sitcom Growing Pains.

Andrew, who is now a podcast producer, was scheduled to fly back to the States after completing some work in Canada last week, but he never made his flight home. Although, he has no history of drug use, friends and Andrew’s famous father — Star Trek’s Walter Koenig — are considered that the actor had been battling depression.

On Monday, Vancouver Police Constable Tim Fanning revealed that Koenig’s ATM card and cell phone were used after February 14, the date the actor was last seen. Fanning did not disclose when the items were used because the search for Koenig is still an ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information on Koenig’s whereabouts is asked to call the Vancouver Police at 604-717-2534.

  • Adam Lambert Disses Susan Boyle: “Her Album Is Horrendous!”

Shots fired!! Adam Lambert has given new meaning to the phrase “Catty Queen” by revealing that he is no fan of fellow talent show sensation Susan Boyle or the debut album that catapulted the Scottish spinster to the top the charts late last year.

Boyle’s debut LP, I Dreamed A Dream, stormed Billboard when it dropped last November. Much to Adam’s chagrin, SuBo managed to keep the American Idol runner-up off the top of the US charts with his release For Your Entertainment, which dropped the same day. Lambert sold an impressive 200,000 copies in his first week, but still couldn’t believe he was one upped by Boyle’s “terrible” album — which features a cover of the Rolling Stones’ classic “Wild Horses” that made Adam “cry with laughter.”

    Ouch, tough room.

Adam spilled the tea as he sat down for a chat with the March 10 issue of London’s Gay Times: “If only it weren’t for Susan Boyle! I’m happy for her success, but that album is terrible. Wild Horses is the one that made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it, I was crying with laughter. It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song!” Lambert quipped. “Still, when my album charted, it was validating. I was feeling a bit attacked, like I had to vindicate something. I thought: ‘Wow, look what I did.’”

What an obnoxious asshat! We hope you’ve been misquoted here, Adam!

  • Whitney Houston Australian Tour In Jeopardy After Disastrous Opening Night

    Crack Kills Vocal Cords…

Houston, we have a problem. The future of Whitney Houston’s first Australian tour in 22 years hangs in the balance after the pop music icon appeared breathless and exhausted during her opening concert in Brisbane on Sunday night. Houston has sparked fresh fears for her health after struggling through her set on the “Nothing But Love Tour.”

Livid fans — some who paid nearly $200 for tickets — stormed out of the Brisbane Entertainment Center as Houston only sang two songs before she was forced to take a break. After half a dozen songs, during some of which she coughed, she left the stage to take a break, bringing on her brother, Gary Houston, to sing.

An Australian Associated Press music reviewer branded the show a disgrace, writing: “The multi-award winning singer appeared disoriented and failed to properly name some of her backing band as she introduced them to the audience. But the final act faltered at the finale when she croaked her way through I Will Always Love You, pausing to get a drink and towel herself down just as she was about to hit the song’s epic high note, which she turned into a soft coo.”

One disappointed concert-goer tells The Courier-Mail, “She was not fit to perform. She seemed to be on another planet, and the concert was laughable. When the back-up singer’s performance is the stand out for the night you know something is wrong.”

A fan interviewed on Australian TV after the show fumed: “It was a disgrace. She can’t sing. She didn’t sing one song properly. She was disorientated and she needed a 20-minute break. It was the first concert I have walked out of in my life.”

Houston is scheduled to perform at the Acer Arena in Sydney on Wednesday. The tour will then continue in Hunter Valley, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Whitney isn’t the only music superstar to hit a sour note with Australians. Last year, Britney Spears left fans outraged after it was revealed that she lip-synched through her concert performances.

The Brit has been romantically linked to Stewart ever since the pair starred in the first film in the vampire franchise together in 2008. Both Rob and Kristen have constantly dodged questions about their alleged clandestine romance, but now Pattinson has allegedly announced he’s dating the 19-year-old star.

  • Assault Victim Fails To Block “Jersey Shore” DVD Release

A New Jersey man who says he was beaten during an episode of MTV’s Jersey Shore has lost his bid to stop the release of video footage depicting the brawl. In a Tom’s River courtroom on Monday, Stephen Izzo, 26, of Berkeley, N.J., tried to stop distribution of the DVD box set of the first season of the popular reality series, due out Monday, because it shows him being knocked unconscious by cast member Ronnie Magro after he used racial slurs against Ronnie’s bodyguard.

Izzo argued that Ortiz shouldn’t be allowed to profit from footage of the Sept. 4 fight in Seaside Heights, where the show was taped, or the subsequent episode in which Ronnie brags about the beating. The episode, “One Shot,” shows the cast members hanging out at a local nightclub. After Snooki begins making out with a man, a “rather harsh verbal altercation” ensues with the man’s girlfriend and her friends, including Izzo. Allegedly, bodyguards employed by the show intervened and started choking Izzo, before Ronnie got involved and punched Izzo in the back of the head, knocking him unconscious.

“After punching plaintiff, defendant Ronnie Ortiz ran back to the MTV group screaming in a bragging euphoria how he had knocked out plaintiff with ‘one shot,’” the complaint read. “What you have is a criminal act that MTV orchestrated and had the ability to prevent, and are profiting from,” says Izzo’s attorney, Eugene LaVergne.

New Jersey Superior Court Judge Joseph Foster disagrees, saying Izzo “failed to demonstrate any financial or irreparable harm” would be caused by the release of the DVD.

MTV producers blurred Izzo’s face, but he argued that he was still recognizable.

Mueller left the facility after a staff member allegedly leaked a detailed patient admissions document to the media. The former real estate agent and mother of two is now set to sue executives at The Canyon and plans “to have the individual responsible for leaking the information arrested,” according to her lawyer, Yale Galanter.

Mueller entered a new rehab center in Los Angeles on Monday.
