The Senate voted 41 9 to approve a bill that would make it illegal for employers in Indiana to adopt policies that prohibit workers from having firearms in their locked vehicles on company property.The bill’s sponsor, Sen. Johnny Nugent, R Lawrenceburg, told his colleagues on the Senate floor that people should be able to keep legally permitted firearms in their vehicles so they can go hunting before or after work, or defend themselves if needed on the way to or from their jobs. It would not prevent employers from banning guns inside the workplace.

On Wednesday, January 20, Colorado State University (CSU) formally announced their draft proposal to prohibit firearms on all CSU campuses. Exempt from the ban would be weapons used by law enforcement, military and the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC).
On Wednesday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m., the Maryland House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on House Bill 207.
As you will recall, NRA-ILA informed you about Senate Bill 6396, legislation that would bring California-style gun-control to the Northwest and ultimately ban many semi-automatic firearms commonly owned by Washingtonians.
On Friday, members of the Glenn County Board of Education drew the line at the gates of Willows High School. They ruled that officials in the Willows Unified School District had exceeded their authority when they expelled Gary Tudesko.

The number of people obtaining licenses to carry a concealed handgun exploded in 2009 up as high as 500 percent in the region."I hope criminals think twice before they attempt to steal from someone or harm someone," said Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon, who saw the number of concealed carry licenses go up by 500 percent.

Colorado State University, like any university, should be in the business of serving its paying students. The students are the customers. They are the only reason we need the university. It isn’t about faculty members and administrators, who are hired and paid only because students need them.Yet, it appears the needs and desires of students may be the least of concerns among faculty, administration and CSU’s Board of Governors.

Rick Perry said Friday that Texans should not be subject to more government intervention and security measures after a gunman opened fire at an entry to the Texas Capitol and that the state’s "enlightened" approach to gun rights helps to keep citizens safe."In Texas, criminals have to think twice before they draw a gun because there’s a good chance they’re going to be outnumbered," Perry said, as he accepted the campaign endorsement of the Texas State Rifle Association and the National Rifle Association. "The fact of the matter is, that keeps us all safer."

Well, the Obama administration actually argued for these regulations before the Supreme Court in defending campaign finance regulations. Actually, they went even further and said that such regulations were essential to limiting how much money is spent on political campaigns.
