  • Ashton/Demi $10 Million Divorce Battle Rages On

The divorce proceedings between Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are ongoing, and now Ashton’s millions are being thrown into the pot.

Kutcher, who began Grade-A Investments with two partners, says he doesn’t owe Moore as much as she’s asking for because he made several million after they were already separated. The fund helps tech start-ups and is currently valued at $100 million.

“Ashton and Demi are still not divorced, and no settlement has been agreed, even though they have been in negotiations for over a year. Ashton made a lot of money after they married, but he doesn’t believe he owes her as much as she is asking for,” a “source” told the New York Post.

Kutcher reportedly owns a 20% share in the fund and under California’s laws, Moore is entitled to half of that: a cool $10 million. And while there’s been no comment on the developments from either party, it’s sure to be a wrench in the works as the pair try to dissolve their marriage.

The “Two And A Half Men” actor is now the highest-paid sitcom star, pulling in $24 million last year after he replaced Charlie Sheen.

  • Zoe Saldana’s Weight Makes Magazine Headline

Zoe Saldana appears in a lovely cover shot on the front of next month’s Allure Magazine, but the headline is what’s getting the most attention this week.

The line reads, “Zoe Saldana: 115 Pounds Of Grit And Heartache”, and many are upset that the magazine would choose to publish an actress’s weight where anyone can see it. Maureen O’Connor of The Cut says that presenting that number as a healthy weight to young women isn’t a good idea, and reinforces an unhealthy celebrity image.

“Since numerical representations of weight rarely grace the covers of women’s magazines, we conclude that this number must be special,” she wrote. “Since 115 isn’t a large enough number to suggest defiance, we conclude that 115 is a number meant to represent an attractively tiny weight. Delicate and tiny, making her “grit” all the more charming. Just a tiny little pretty thing, but boy, little missy packs a punch! A rare catch, that 115-pounder, same size as the prize tuna fish.”

Many celebrities have spoken out against the way the media treats women in Hollywood; Ashley Judd wrote a strong article last year after photos of her looking “puffy” surfaced online and she was blasted for either having plastic surgery or for gaining weight, both of which were untrue according to her.

Allure has had no comment on the headline, nor has Saldana. The article discusses the actress’s sexuality, however, and includes a photo of her posing in the nude.

  • Pop-Tarts: New Flavors Include Peanut Butter

As the most-requested flavor of Pop-Tart, peanut butter has long awaited its time in the spotlight. Now is that time.

The makers of the popular breakfast pastry, Kellogg, announced this week that they will indeed be selling peanut butter Pop-Tarts and chocolate-frosted peanut butter Pop-Tarts in order to appease their fans. The new additions will come in gold-foil wrappers in an orange box to distinguish them from the other flavors, most likely so that parents can avoid food allergies.

This is actually the second time Pop-Tarts have had a peanutty-flavor; in 1986 they introduced a peanut butter-and-jelly version. It didn’t do so well, but I’m betting this latest incarnation will do just fine. No word yet on whether the flavor will be a permanent addition to the line or if it’s a limited-time item.

“Peanut butter has long been the most requested flavor by our fans,” Pop-Tarts marketing director Dick Podiak said in a release. “We think everyone will agree it was worth the wait once they taste these delicious new varieties.”

There are some limited edition flavors rolling out this week, too, including WildBerry and red velvet. Not all stores will carry them, but you can head over to the Pop-Tarts site to check out the selection.

  • Honeymoon Prostitution Arrest: Sting Nabs 92 In Florida

A prostitution sting in Florida busted a whopping 92 people over a period of four days, Orlando authorities say.

The sting was set up at a local hotel and ultimately captured 39 prostitutes and 12 pimps; among those arrested were a youth minister and a man who was in Florida for his honeymoon.

21-year old Mohammed Ahmed was a newlywed who was apparently trying to arrange for a prostitute to come and service him along with his wife; unfortunately for him, he wound up involved in the massive undercover operation.

Authorities say that prostitution busts are often connected to other crimes and that solicitation is just as illegal when it’s done online, as it mostly was in this case.

“The negative social costs of prostitution hurt families, children, and communities, including the spreading of infectious diseases,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. “The nexus between prostitution and other crime, such as illegal drugs, violence against women, and human trafficking, is a real problem.”

No word yet on whether the newlywed’s bride had prior knowledge of his plans or not.

  • Singer Attacked In Houston, Injured In Bar Brawl

The singer of a hugely popular Tejano group was attacked outside a Houston bar on Monday night and suffered severe injuries to the face.

Oscar De La Rosa of La Mafia was reportedly standing outside a gay bar when he and his driver were attacked by an unidentified man who has so far eluded police. Witnesses say De La Rosa didn’t have a chance to defend himself in the attack, and as a result he suffered several lacerations to the face, damage to his eye, and lost two teeth. The band released a statement about his condition on their Facebook page:

“Oscar De La Rosa was assaulted around 1:30 AM this morning leaving a local bar in Houston. He is still in trauma care at Memorial Herman Hospital (sic). He has suffered severe face lacerations and possible damage to his right eye. A police report has been filed and the identity of the assailant has been confirmed, assault charges will be filed as soon he is located.”

Several reports say that the attack was unprovoked, but band member Armando Lichtenberger said it started with an altercation inside the club which led to the man being kicked out.

“He sucker-punched the driver, knocked him half unconscious and then he went at Oscar and started pounding on his face,” Lichtenberger said. “A sucker punch is the worst thing. He didn’t get to defend himself at all. It happened so fast.”

The band hasn’t decided yet whether they will need to cancel or postpone any performances.

  • Amputee Killed By Dogs In His Wheelchair

An 80-year old double amputee was killed after being mauled by four dogs as he sat in his wheelchair, authorities in South Carolina say.

Carlton Freeman was in his motorized wheelchair on May 8 when the dogs, who belonged to a neighbor woman, attacked. Three of the animals have been captured, but one remains on the loose.

Freeman suffered several lacerations all over his body and was unable to properly fight the dogs off due to his condition. Both legs were amputated several years ago below the knee as the result of diabetic complications.

“Upon my examination of Mr. Freeman, it is a wonder that this gentleman was able to hang on as long as he did,” coroner Chris Nesbit said in a statement. “He had bites and lacerations from his legs to the top of his head. This is very sad story, but even worse that Mr. Freeman was basically helpless to the attack, due to being a bi-lateral amputee.”

The woman who owned the dogs, Barbara Goodwin, is also related to Freeman. She admitted to authorities that she owned the dogs, which were reportedly a mother and her pups.

  • Hader Leaving SNL When The Season Ends

Bill Hader, known for his impersonations of celebs like Clint Eastwood and Julian Assange, has announced that he’ll be leaving “Saturday Night Live” when this season is over.

Hader is also a popular face in films and has written for “South Park”. He’s also found success doing voice work in films like “Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs”. For now, he hasn’t said what his plans are for the immediate future, just that he feels it’s his time to go.

“It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” Hader said. “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.’”

Hader will be a big lose for the show, which has struggled to maintain a consistent audience base in recent years following the departure of Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey. Besides his impersonations, he also did original characters like “Stefon” and “Herb Welch”.

  • Rihanna: Blonde Look Is Just Temporary

Rihanna was photographed sporting some pale blonde locks recently, and the photo has gone viral as fans repost it with the classic love/hate relationship they’re famous for regarding the singer’s looks.

The 25-year old songstress was just donning a wig for a photo shoot, however, and will likely debut a new look soon, as she never keeps the same one for very long. The wig is getting some comparisons to Anne Hathaway’s new punky ‘do, which she debuted at the Met Gala last week.

  • CNN Anchor: Cancer Announcement Is Thanks To Angelina

CNN anchor Zoraida Sambolin said today that she is electing to have a double mastectomy after a breast cancer diagnosis, and it’s thanks in part to Angelina Jolie’s announcement about her own surgery that she had the courage to speak up about it.

Jolie, who wrote a piece for the New York Times this week about her brave decision to go under the knife as a preemptive strike against breast cancer, says she did it partly because she watched her mom go through a battle with the disease and doesn’t want to leave her own children without their mom. Sambolin says the same thing inspired her to elect for the invasive surgery.

“I struggled for weeks trying to figure out how tell you that I had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was leaving to have surgery then Angelina Jolie shares her story of a double mastectomy and gives me strength and an opening,” Sambolin wrote on Facebook.

Sambolin says her prognosis is a good one due to early detection, and says she wants to warn women of the dangers of being neglectful with their breast care. She is scheduled to undergo surgery on May 28.

  • Marshalls: Tiger Lied About Garcia Interference

Marshalls in the Players Championship say Tiger Woods lied about getting their clearance to take the shot that interfered with Sergio Garcia’s last weekend.

Woods readied his next shot before Garcia was finished, and when the crowd saw him take out his club, they erupted into cheers, which interfered with his own shot.

“You have to pay attention to what’s going on because the other guy is hitting. You do something when you’re in the crowd and the crowd is going to respond,” an irritated Garcia said.

Woods defended his actions by saying he’d been given the go-ahead: “The marshals, they told me he already hit, so I pulled a club and was getting ready to play my shot, and then I hear his comments afterward and it’s not real surprising that he’s complaining about something,” he said.

But marshall Gary Anderson says that never happened.

“He didn’t ask us nothing, and we didn’t say nothing. We’re told not to talk to the players,” Anderson said.

While it’s no secret that Woods and Garcia don’t like each other, this little tiff involves other people who never asked to be, and this is just another hit to Woods’ already questionable character.

“Nothing was said to us and we certainly said nothing to him,” chief marshall John North said. “I was disappointed to hear him make those remarks. We’re there to help the players and enhance the experience of the fans. He was saying what was good for him. It lacked character.”

  • Chuck Muncie Dies: Former Running Back Was 60

Chuck Muncie, a former running back for the NFL, has died of a heart attack. He was 60 years old.

Muncie got his start in the mid-’70s as the third-overall pick for the Saints; he stayed with them for four years, but was ultimately unhappy with the team and moved on to the Chargers in 1980. His career seemed promising as he helped lead the Chargers’ game with 19 touchdowns in 1981. But just three years later, he tested positive for cocaine and was suspended.

Muncie eventually sought counseling for his drug abuse and began helping others, saying, “I’m a very selfish person, and I like to feel good. One way I could make myself feel good was by helping other people. I learned, over a period of time, that was something that worked for me.”

He tried to make a career comeback with the Vikings in 1985, but as it turned out, the drugs played a bigger role in his life than he’d let on. In 1989, he was arrested for selling cocaine. He eventually turned things around, however, and began working with convicts and drug addicts to help them change for the better. One of his biggest projects was helping to provide ex-prisoners with tattoo removals in order to help them secure jobs on the outside.

His friends and teammates remember him as a man who would drop what he was doing to help others, and a former team doctor once said he did what he did because he genuinely wanted to make a difference.

“Whenever we call, he makes himself available,” Bill Coysh said. “That’s what’s incredible about him. This is not a paid position. He does it because that’s how he is.”

  • W. VA. Plant Explosions: Two Injured

A distribution plant carrying highly flammable gases went up in a fireball on Monday outside of Charleston, West Virginia, injuring two people.

The fire at Airgas involved 50 tanks of acetylene which were about to be refilled, said fire officials. An investigation is pending to determine what caused the explosion, but witnesses say once the first tank went, the others followed quickly, creating fireballs that shot over 100 feet in the air.

“We felt our building shake like it’s never come close to shaking before from a storm or anything. It was enough to make us run,” said Doug Barker, who works at a nearby business.

Fortunately, the explosions occurred in a concrete-enclosed area away from the main plant and the tanks weren’t full; otherwise, there might have been many more injuries. For now, the fire is put out, but a HAZMAT crew has been sent from Kentucky to secure the area. The plant specializes in several different gases, including the acetylene, which is used for welding, as well as propane, hydrogen, helium, and nitrous oxide.

The injured workers suffered second and third-degree burns, but their condition is not known at this time.

  • Tebow: Philadelphia Soul Makes An Offer

Tim Tebow is a man without a country these days; after a season with the Jets which can only be described as disappointing, the young QB was cut in favor of Mark Sanchez, and there are rumors floating around that several teams don’t want him because of the media baggage that will inevitably follow. But one team has made an offer, and if he takes it, it’ll mean no NFL training camp this season.

The Philadelphia Soul says they want to see him on the gridiron and have reportedly sent him an offer, including a list of plays they would use with him. Tebow has yet to respond, but co-owner Ron Jaworski and Coach Clint Dolezel say they’re hoping they’ll get a chance.

“I haven’t heard back from him and I’m not going to push it,” Jaworksi said. “If he decides he wants to play Arena Football, we’ll make a spot for him.”

Jaworski thinks Arena Football could be just the thing Tebow needs to strengthen his game and says it would force him to really look at his weaknesses.

“One [criticism] of Tebow is that he is slow and methodical,” Jaworski said. “He would be forced to quicken it up in this league and it would be good training for him. You can learn a lot in this league. It’s about processing information and getting the ball out . . . or you get whacked.”

  • “Food Porn” Busts ID Thieves At Steakhouse

“Food porn” is rampant these days, especially on photo-sharing site Instagram; you’ve got an awesome meal in front of you, but what’s the point in eating it if you can’t share how awesome it is with everyone you know? At least, that’s the mindset of some. For two people in Florida, it was the thing that placed them in a certain steakhouse at a certain time, and connected them to a huge identity theft ring.

Nathaniel Troy Maye and Tiwanna Tenise were so proud of their steak and mac-and-cheese dinner, they snapped a pic of it and posted it on Instagram. Because it placed them at Morton’s steakhouse during a big identity swipe affecting more than 50 people, they were placed under arrest.

The couple had been followed by the feds for a while after a tipster told them that someone calling himself Troy had bragged about lifting thousands of identities.

  • Joyce Brothers Dies: Psychologist Was 85

Joyce Brothers, who became famous in the ’50s for her rise to stardom via a call-in radio program, has died of respiratory failure. She was 85 years old.

Brothers was a wife and stay-at-home mom in the mid-1950′s and believed that being home with her child was the best way to parent. However, the hard reality soon set in that her husband, who was a fresh med-school graduate, couldn’t support them on his residency income. On a whim, Brothers decided to try her luck as a quiz show contestant. After memorizing 20 volumes of an encyclopedia set, she made her way onto “$64,000 Challenge” and stunned everyone when she became the first female to win the big cash prize.

She found herself mixed up in a scandal, though, when the show’s producers were accused of giving the answers away to particular contestants. Brothers denied being involved in any cheating and was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing. But the scandal may have been the very thing to open doors for her; she was eventually offered a job as a sports interviewer, which led to appearances on talk shows, and in 1958 landed a job with an NBC show giving out advice to women on topics such as menopause and sex. She would go on to become one of the most highly sought-after psychologists of the day after hosting on a call-in radio show which dispensed a form of therapy to those in need.

Although her methods were criticized, Brothers insisted she was just doling out common sense.

“I don’t give advice. I just tell people, ‘This is what we know.’ ” she once said.

Brothers had her own advice column for over forty years in Good Housekeeping and kept up her celebrity through the ’80s and ’90s by appearing on sitcoms and talk shows. She was also the author of several books, including “Ten Days To A Successful Memory” (1964), “Positive Plus: The Practical Plan for Liking Yourself Better” (1995) and “Widowed” (1992).

  • N.M.: Mummified Body Found Was That Of Writer

The mummified body of a writer was found in her New Mexico home last week, and authorities believe it’s possible she’s been dead for up to a year.

Barbara Salinas-Norman was known for her children’s books, which she wrote and illustrated to help Mexican-American kids learn about their heritage. She also founded and ran a publishing company, Pinata Publications. However, her last days were most likely sad ones. Friends say she’d had the power and water cut off in her condo due to non-payment of her bills and sometimes slept in her car. When her brother-in-law and sister made a visit last week out of concern, they found her home in complete disarray.

“If you saw the apartment, you would never walk inside it,” Louis Ponce said. “I never knew anybody could be that filthy.”

The 70-year old author and former teacher was found mummified due to the extreme dry heat in New Mexico; authorities aren’t sure about the time of death, but say it could have been as far back as October.

“This woman looks like a mummy, essentially,” Santa Fe police spokeswoman Celina Westervelt said. “All of her skin has dried out. You could see the skeleton underneath. There were no body fluids anymore.”

    Autopsy results are pending.

  • Is Beyonce Pregnant? Don’t Be Silly, Says Source

Beyonce and Jay-Z may have had the most popular and sought-after kid on the planet, but that doesn’t mean she’s quite ready to have another quite so soon.

With Blue Ivy turning one earlier this year came the inevitable question: will the uber-couple be having more kids? Beyonce says she’d love to, but a “source” close to the family says that despite rumors to the contrary, she’s not preggo right now.

“I know another kid is in the future, but it wouldn’t make sense for her right now while on tour,” the source said.

Indeed, Beyonce is right smack in the middle of a world tour, sponsored by Pepsi. She has said in the past that she definitely wants to add to her brood, however.

“I would like more children,” Beyonce said. “I think my daughter needs company. I definitely love being a big sister [to Solange, 26].”

The latest round of pregnancy rumors got touched off by a skin-tight catsuit the singer wore onstage recently which appears to show a tiny tummy. But as everyone should know by now, never ask a woman if she’s pregnant. Let her tell you.

  • 3 New Quarter Pounders Include Habanero Ranch

McDonald’s announced last week that they are phasing out their Angus burgers–which are on the higher end of their menu–and are now replacing them with three new quarter pounder options.

The new sandwiches will take the place of two of the Angus burgers–Deluxe and Bacon and Cheese–and will include a new option, Habanero Ranch. They’ll boast new buns and thicker slices of bacon than previous incarnations. The company made the decision after sales slumped for the more expensive fare in 2012.

“When you can get four or five burgers off the Dollar Menu, nobody’s going to buy the Angus burger,” consultant Richard Adams said. “The Dollar Menu has become a real problem for these chains.”

The new burgers have been tested in restaurants across the country for several months but won’t roll out nationally until next month.

“Once we created these burgers, we didn’t see the need for the Angus line,” Greg Watson, senior VP of menu innovations said.

  • Angie Everhart: Cancer Diagnosis Leads To Surgery

Angie Everhart has announced that she is battling thyroid cancer and will undergo surgery this week.

Everhart’s rep made a statement about the diagnosis, saying, “Word has been trickling out about supermodel/actress Angie Everhart’s health. She wants to set the record straight by letting everyone know that it is true that she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, however, the prognosis is very good.”

Everhart decided to go public with her battle in order to inspire others to learn about cancer prevention. As single mom to a 3-year old son, she says her main priority is getting well enough to get back to “mommy duty”.

Everhart is the latest in a string of celebrities who have battled thyroid cancer and come out on the other end successful, including Brooke Burke-Charvet and Sofia Vergara. Vergara was diagnosed in 2000 and had her thyroid removed, but is enjoying a healthy life these days. Burke-Charvet also endured surgery but says she credits a healthy diet and exercise routine for her energy.

“I was already eating healthy, but it really confirms how good I feel when I work out,” Burke, 41, said. “After lying around for a few weeks, I was like, ‘I need to move. I need to sweat and get that adrenaline rush.’ It’s the best antidepressant. It’s like the best medicine in the world.”
