  • Kia Soul Gets New Name for Chinese Market

    Kia has decided to use an aggressive marketing campaign for its Soul crossover on the Chinese market, as the car’s sales in the country have failed to meet the carmaker’s expectations.

    According to Gasgoo, Kia’s joint venture with the Dongfeng Motor Corp Chinese partner, Dongfeng Yueda Kia, will market the Soul under the Xiu Er name. This can be translated to Show You.

  • Hyundai i-Flow Diesel-Hybrid Concept at Geneva

    Earlier this day, we learned that Hyundai will showcase the i30 facelift at the Geneva Auto Show but overall, the company intends to display no less than 8 vehicles. Among them, the i-Flow concept, a diesel-electric hybrid model that previews a future D-segment contender from Hyundai, as the South Korean company said in a release.

    It employs the U2 1.7-liter engine with two-stage turbocharging and Hyundai’s li-ion battery. The engine is mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

    In what will probably prove to be the most crowded event at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, American singer/song writer Justin Timberlake will unveil the new Audi A1, during the press conference scheduled for March 2.

  • Mercedes GP to Announce Major Sponsor Soon

    Mercedes Grand Prix is believed to secure a new sponsorship deal prior to the season opening round of the 2010 Formula One championship. And it won’t be a small sponsor either, as the German media revealed a major agreement is about to be announced officially within the next few days.

  • 2011 Porsche Cayenne Released

    The eagerly-awaited Porsche Cayenne is finally here. At least, virtually, as the German carmaker will show this latest contraption at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Porsche says the car will hit European showrooms on May 8, with pricing to start at 55,431 Euros (full pricing is available below).

    The Nascar Foundation announced today a $408,000 donation for the Victory Junction, a camp for seriously ill children in Florida and a member of Paul Newman’s Association of Hole in the Wall Camps, to be used to "help send critically ill kids to camp for a life-changing experience."

  • Chrysler Reinstalls Airbag Sensors in Over 355,500 Minivans

    Chrysler announced that it will reinstall the front airbag sensor in over 355,500 minivans, with the action scheduled to start in June, as Reuters reports.

    The problem affects 2005-2006 Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans. 259,437 of these vehicles are registered in the U.S. and 72,035 of them are registered in in Canada.
