  • Raikkonen Helps WRC, MTV3 Finland Reach Record Website Audience

    We all knew that rallying is close to being the number one sport in Finland, but the arrival of Kimi Raikkonen in the World Rally Championship at the wheel of a Citroen C4 WRC has rocketed the TV audience in the country, according to the figures provided by MTV3, WRC broadcaster for Finland.

  • Volkswagen Shows First CrossPolo Pictures

    Following its plan to became the world’s largest automaker by 2018, Volkswagen has to take careful decisions and avoid making any serious mistakes.     Two days after the Wednesday morning airplane crash in East Palo Alto, California, the names of the three Tesla Motors employees who were killed in the crash were reported.

    Not sure how many of you recall the events of last autumn, when a former Toyota employee, Dimitrios Biller, accused the Japanese carmaker of covering up and even destroying evidence regarding rollover accidents, but it appears the recent recall nightmare reignited the fire.

  • Chevrolet Aveo Reaches U.K. Shores

    The first shipment of the new Chevrolet Aveo has reached U.K. shores ahead of the national dealer launch. The shipment, consisting of 348 units, was delivered to the UK last week and has been prepared for delivery by logistics provider Autologic.

  • Polaris EV LSV to be Used by the Government

    Polaris Defense yesterday announced it has been awarded a new contract with the General Services Administration (GSA) to sell the Polaris all electric, on-road and off-road Low Speed Vehicle (LSV), known as the Polaris EV LSV, to Government customers.

    Polaris Defense currently sells a portfolio of vehicles via GSA, on Schedule 78, but under the new contract, the company can sell its EV LSV under Schedule 23V which is specifically for vehicles that meet the LSV requirements.

  • Goodyear Presents Fourth Quarter Results

    The tire manufacturers were forced to suffer alongside the automakers during the recession as sales and profit went down. Goodyear, one of the world’s largest tiremaker, announced that annual sales for 2009 were $16.3 billion, down from $19.5 billion in the 2008 period. Sales dropped by 9.5 percent due to lower industry demand in North America and Europe.

    The Dutch, low-volume, bespoke car producer Spyker acquired Saab last month, saving the Swedish brand’s life but the buying process is only the beginning of Spyker’s efforts.
