  • Jaguar Land Rover Appoints Ralf Speth as CEO

    With the very short-lived reign of Carl Peter Forster as Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) CEO over in a little over a month, the British brand announced the appointment of Ralf Speth as the CEO.   • UK’s Car Production Up 65%

    Things are looking good for UK based car manufacturers, as the increased demand pushed the automobiles production in the United Kingdom up 65%. In January, the car manufacturing business saw its biggest rise in more than 30 years.

    According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) 101,190 new cars rolled off UK production lines as scrappage schemes here and in Europe boosted demand. Britain hasn’t seen a 64.8% increase production since May 1976.

  • 2011 Hyundai Sonata Gets IIHS Top Safety Pick

    The new Hyundai Sonata has been dubbed as a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) today, marking the first time in history when the model achieves this feat.   • Italy to Invest 450 Million Euros in Fiat’s Sicily Plant

    Sergio Marchionne’s decision to shut down production at Fiat’s Termini Imerese factory in Sicily attracted a lot of critics from the Italian government and the Unions.   • Mitsubishi RVR Compact Crossover Goes on Sale

    Shortly after it first unveiling in December, the new compact crossover RVR from Mitsubishi can now be found in dealerships throughout Japan at an accessible price, the carmaker says.     Aston Martin Racing has launched the Aston Martin British GT4 Challenge, the brand’s first ever one-make racing series in the UK. The Aston Martin GT4 Challenge will start in April at Snetterton and will end in October going through Silverstone, Spa Francorchamps, Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Donington.
