  • Steve Carell Leaving “The Office?”

Steve Carell plans to exit his Golden Globe-winning role as paper company manager Michael Scott on NBC’s The Office once the show’s seventh season on NBC wraps in 2011.

In a BBC Radio interview this week, promoting Carell’s new comedy Date Night, the comedian, 47, revealed that his contract with the NBC sitcom only runs through season seven and it looks unlikely that he’ll opt to stay on longer.

“I don’t think so. I think that will probably be my last year,” Carell replied when quizzed on his possible future with the series.

The actor certainly won’t be basking in retirement when he bids “Happy Trails” to The Office — Carell reportedly has 10 comedy movie projects in the works.

  • Dr. Drew Thinks The Cast Of “Jersey Shore” Needs Professional Help

Dr. Drew thinks the “guidos and guidettes” of the season’s biggest reality cyclone — MTV’s Jersey Shore — could benefit from a bit of “professional help.”

(Gee Doc, tell us something we don’t know….)

And he’s not talking about the kind of treatment that’s often characterized by patients lounging on a sofa in the cozy quaintness of some shrink’s office up on Fifth Avenue. The television addiction specialist with an opinion on almost everything tosses around words like abuse, alcoholism, and sex addiction when talking about the tanned-to-a-tangerine complected stars of The Shore.

In fact, Drew would love to get series spitfire Snooki, resident spinner Pauly D, and the rest of the gang one of his various VH1 programs (Celebrity Rehab, Sober House, Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew) before making a final diagnosis.

  • Alexa Ray Joel Nose Job — Alexa Ray Joel Plastic Surgery Confession

Alexa Ray Joel is the new face and hair of Prell Shampoo (They still make that?!), but the resume-boosting gig isn’t the only new thing taking up residence in Alexa’s life these days. Look closely at the 24-year-old celebuspawn and you may notice something distinctly different about her once prominent nose.

Alexa, an aspiring singer and the only daughter of iconic supermodel Christie Brinkley and musician Billy Joel, underwent rhinoplasty — that’s Hollwood speak for “a nose job” — earlier this month, and the brunette says she never felt better after seeing the finished product, crafted by NYC-based plastic surgeon Dr. Norman M. Rowe.

“I was thinking about getting this for years,” says Alexa, whose looks have made her the target of ridicule on the blogosphere for years. “I was self-conscious of pictures taken from the side. To some people that’s vain, but at the end of the day, we all want to feel pretty,” she adds. “Would I do anything else to my body? No. It’s not ten procedures like Heidi Montag. For me, that’s a little extreme, but to each her own.”

Alexa notes that she is in good health since being hospitalized following an alleged overdose last December.

  • Lindsay Lohan “Celebrity Rehab” $1 Million Offer

Lindsay Lohan won’t be getting a reprieve from her heavily-rumored cashflow troubles by checking in with Dr. Drew.

The actress — who is reportedly deep in debt after being out of work for nearly a year — pooh-poohed a $1 million offer to appear on VH1’s addiction-centered reality series Celebrity Rehab, Sober House, and a possible third spinoff presently in the works.

While Lindsay’s estranged father Michael and a good portion of her former friends claim the recovering cocaine addict has suffered a relapse, LiLo reportedly passed on the reality offer because she “doesn’t think she has a problem” — and she also doesn’t want to be associated with host Dr. Drew Pinsky.

Dr. Drew’s outspoken comments about the troubled starlet has made the bespectacled specialist the target of many of Lohan’s rants on Twitter. Heather Locklear and Charlie Sheen and his soon-to-be ex-wife Brooke Mueller were also reportedly approached to appear on the show. They also declined.

  • Kids Reenact “The Hills”

Cute overload! They did it with Jersey Shore, they did it with Scarface, and now the world’s littlest reality fans are reenacting scenes from MTV’s departing unscripted smash, The Hills.

Speidi couldn’t hold a candle to this!

Confirmed: Dreamgirls director Bill Condon will step behind the lens to direct Breaking Dawn, the eagerly-anticipated fourth and final film in The Twilight Saga, The Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday.

Summit Entertainment confirmed the deal in a press release this afternoon. For his part, Condon couldn’t be more amped-up about lending his noteworthy skills to the wildly-successful franchise.

“I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book — and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience,” said Condon in the statement.

“I’m so thrilled that Bill wants to work with us. I think he’s going to be a great fit, and I’m excited to see what he does with the material,” Twilight writer Stephenie Meyer added.

The film is expected to go into production in Canada in November.

The boy was struck by the actor’s car near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and June Street about 7:15 AM, Los Angeles Police officials told The Los Angeles Times this week. The teen, who was on his way to school at the time of the accident, has been hospitalized in stable condition.

The actor — who signed on as Jenny Craig’s newest spokesmodel earlier this year — was not cited.

  • Jesse James Reacts To Sandra Bullock Divorce Filing

Hot on the heels of Sandra Bullock’s early morning announcement that she’s filed for divorce and obtained single custody of what was to be their adopted son, Louis, womanizing biker enthusiast Jesse James has released a statement on the end of his six year marriage to the Oscar darling.

He says in part: “The decision to let my wife end our marriage, and continue the adoption of Louis on her own, has been the hardest. The love I have for Louis cannot be put to words. Not having him around to love and to hold has left a huge hole in my heart…Sandy is the love of my life, but considering the pain and devastation I have caused her, it would be selfish to not let her go. Right now it is time for me to beat this addiction that has taken two of the things I love the most in life….”

  • Jessica Simpson: “I Only Brush My Teeth Three Times A Week”

Jessica Simpson is arguably one of the most “stop on the street and gawk at” beautiful singletons on the Planet, but the host of VH1’s The Price of Beauty has one very surprising grooming habit that future suitors might find difficult to get used to: She only brushes her teeth three times a week.

“My teeth are so white and I don’t like them to feel to slippery but I do use Listerine and I do floss everyday. But, I don’t brush them everyday. I’ll use a shirt or something. I know it’s gross but I always have fresh breath. It’s really weird but I have great breath,” Jess explained in her Wednesday appearance with daytime host Ellen DeGeneres. “They are too slippery. My lips just slide all over the place… I can’t catch up with my mouth. I need a little coating.”

Ellen presented Jessica a basket of dental floss…just in case.

  • Justin Bieber Hat Thief May Face Criminal Charges

The New Zealand teenager who snatced Justin Bieber’s hat off his head at Auckland Airport on Tuesday night could face criminal charges if the teen pop sensation chooses to press charges, police sources say.

Bieber arrived to mass hysteria at Auckland Airport overnight, setting off a stampede that sent the crooner’s mother crashing to the floor.

The Biebs was not amused: “Finally got to New Zealand last night. The airport was crazy. Not happy that someone stole my hat and knocked down my mama. Come on people,” the “One Less Lonely Girl” singer Tweeted to his 2.1 million fans and followers.

Emah Hira Matiu, 17, admitted to stealing the Canadian cutie’s hat during the fracas, but the lovelorn lass alerted Justin to the fate of his topper in a Twitter message posted shortly after the airport debacle. She even offered to return the hat — in exchange for a hug.

(Someone needs to teach this girl the power of cash!)

However, instead of a hug from the boy of her dreams, Matiu could face a misdemenor theft charge if Bieber decides to file a complaint with cops, a Waikato District Police spokesperson told The New Zealand Herald early Wednesday.

  • Coldplay “Glee” Snub”

Talk about bad business moves! Coldplay turned up their noses at the chance to have their signature hits showcased on the hit TV musical comedy Glee — and its a decision the “Clocks” hitmakers sorely regret.

Before unveiling Glee’s ratings-winning all-Madonna-themed episode, which aired last week, series creator Ryan Murphy approached Coldplay with an offer to feature the band’s music on a special episode of the FOX show but was disappointed when the musicians turned him down flat.

Now that Glee’s become a pop phenomenon, the bandmates have big regrets about not allowing Murphy access to their back catalogue.

“We were wrong,” Murphy smirks, recalling his last conservation with Chris Martin and his bandmates.
