  • Snooki’s Boyfriend Speaks!

Ay! Oh! Snooki may not have found true love at the Jersey Shore, but heavily-trafficked social networking site Facebook.com proved a worthy matchmaker for the pint-sized Princess of Poughkeepsie. That’s where the MTV reality personality met her new man, Gold’s Gym personal trainer and bodybuilder Emilio Antonio Masella, 21.

In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE Magazine, the New Haven, Connecticut native reveals that the lovebirds met online several months before Snooks found fame for falling down drunk at bars all over Seaside Heights. “We met on Facebook over a year ago,” the buffed-up “guido” gushed. “We started talking online again before the show even started airing and started hanging out again.”

Emilio — who’s already met Snooki’s parents — says the Nicole Polizzi he knows is quite different from the 22-year-old self-proclaimed guidette that viewers have fallen in love with on the show. “Honestly, I think that what they show on the show, that’s not really her…..She’s actually really sweet and down-to-earth but the show makes her look like she’s a crazy party girl. It doesn’t show her other side.”

“She really just speaks what on her mind — she tells it how it is, which is nice,” he added. “She’s actually really sweet and down-to-earth but the show makes her look like she’s a crazy party girl. It doesn’t show her other side.”

Jersey Shore fans may soon get an up close and personal look at Emilio — the tanned greaser is hoping to join his girl on the forthcoming second season of the MTV smash, which will reportedly shoot in Miami’s South Beach.

  • “Deadliest Catch” Captain Phil Harris Dies

Hate starting the day off with bad news…..

Phil Harris, the fishing boat captain whose adventures off the coast of Alaska were captured on the hit Discovery Channel series Deadliest Catch, died at a hospital near Anchorage late Tuesday. He was 53.

Harris suffered a stroke while in port off-loading at St. Paul Island in Alaska on Jan. 30. Despite promising reports about his health, Phil never fully recovered and passed away with his family at his side.

According to The Associated Press, Harris started working on fishing boats at age 7 and started work 10 years later on a crab boat. When he was 21, he ran a fishing vessel out of Seattle, making him one of the youngest to captain a vessel in the Bering Sea. Deadliest Catch, now in its fifth seasons, has been one of the Discovery Channel’s most popular series. Fans seem to be fascinated with the crab fishing industry in the dangerous waters off Alaska.

“He was more than someone on our television screen. Phil was a devoted father and loyal friend to all who knew him,” the network said in a statement overnight. “We will miss his straightforward honesty, wicked sense of humor and enormous heart. We share our tremendous sadness over this loss with the millions of viewers who followed Phil’s every move. We send our thoughts and prayers to Phil’s sons Josh and Jake and the Cornelia Marie crew.”

The captain’s sons — Josh and Jake Harris — also released released a statement. The men praised their late dad as a brave warrior who battled on until the day of his final breath: “It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad — Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end. For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down. We will remember and celebrate that strength. • Lil Wayne Jail Sentencing Postponed….For Dental Surgery

Lil Wayne’s scheduled sentencing in a New York City weapons case was postponed Tuesday…..because the rapper’s platinum-plated teeth are in dire need of dental work, The Associated Press has learned. The rapper is due to complete a number of oral surgeries before he goes to New York City’s reputed Rikers Island, where he’s due to serve as much as a year in jail under a plea deal.

The sentence could be as short as eight months for Wayne — provided he behaves himself….

In October, the father of four (Or five — but who’s counting?) pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted criminal possession of a weapon, admitting he illegally had a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus in July 2007. Police found the weapon when they stopped the bus after a Wayne concert in Manhattan.

Wayne’s defense lawyer Stacey Richman said the “Lollipop” hitmaker was headed home to Miami for dental work Friday — but won’t comment any further information about the nature of his tooth ailments.

“It is a medical situation that, like (it would for) any of us, has to be addressed,” she said outside Manhattan Superior Court this afternoon. She said the rapper had planned to take care of it before Tuesday, but his dentist had been out of the country doing charitable work.

    Uh-huh……

Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Joan Illuzzi-Orbon didn’t fight the rapper’s request to push back his sentencing, saying she had spoken to the dentist.

Sentencing has been rescheduled for March 2.

Gossett — who has appeared in dozens of films — won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1983 for his portrayal of a barking Navy flight school sergeant alongside Richard Gere in An Officer and a Gentleman.

His personal memoir, An Actor and a Gentleman, set for release May 17.

Entertainment icon Barbra Streisand is saying “Thanks, But No Thanks” to a $100 million offer to take up a residency in Las Vegas.

Babs has allegedly been approached to follow in the footsteps of fellow divas Cher, Celine Dion, and Bette Midler by signing a three-year contract to host her own singing, dancing variety show on the Sin City Strip, PopEater’s Naughty & Nice Column on Tuesday. Streisand, 67, attracted the attention of a Vegas promoter after her 63rd LP, Love Is The Answer, stormed the Billboard charts last October.

But despite the sweet payday, the legend has no interest in taking Vegas by storm, insiders say. Instead, the veteran entertainer is preparing to wow fans with a summer 2010 tour.

A source tells PopEater.com: “After Celine Dion left Vegas, no one has been able to replace her. Bette Midler failed, Cher is trying, only Barbra is guaranteed to succeed. She’s an international star and the only performer in the world that would make people flock to Vegas year after year.”

“Money has never been a deciding factor in her career. She plans on touring again this summer instead,” the insider added.
