Attorneys for troubled country star and Celebrity Rehab personality Mindy McCready have managed to temporarily block the release of a sex tape allegedly featuring McCready in bed with a mystery man.

The singer denied filming herself in the bedroom and threatened legal action against Vivid Entertainment (the company behind scandal-stirring sex tapes from Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and Jessica Sierra) after they announced plans to release Mindy McCready: Baseball Mistress.

Although no preview video footage has been released, the blonde was also said to have described her bedroom encounters with ex-lovers Dean Cain, Roger Clemens, and Alan Jackson, in the X-rated clip.

After weighing his legal options, Vivid founder Steven Hirsch has decided to postpone Baseball Mistress’ release indefinitely. “We’ve decided to take a little extra time to study all of our documentation and other clearances before we proceed,” Hirsch explained.

Mindy’s attorney Adam Dread tells E! Online he’s confident that Vivid will soon find they do not have the legal right to release the raunchy video — and if they decide to anyway, they’ll find themselves on the receiving end of a hefty lawsuit: “After a telephone discussion with Mr. Hirsch this afternoon, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Hirsch understands that there is merit to our Cease and Desist demand. We stand by our original statement that Ms. McCready has never made any video for Vivid Entertainment, or any entertainment company of that genre, and that there is no proof of authorisation from Vivid to release any likeness of Ms. McCready, in any format. We have formally requested that they provide proof of authorisation, or refrain from using Ms. McCready’s likeness, period.”

The first trailer has premiered for Twelve, the new big screen drama from Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford. The movie focuses on a young drug dealer — played by Crawford — trapped in the thriving drug market of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The flick features appearances by 50 Cent, Zoe Kravitz, and Emma Roberts.

It took a while — but pretty Brit Kate Middleton may be getting ready to make an honest man out of England’s Prince William.

Our friends across the pond are wetting their velvet knickers over news that William is planning to formally announce his engagement to his longtime love.

The scoop comes courtesy of Tina Brown – former Vanity Fair editor, author, and personal friend and biographer of William’s late mother Princess Diana. Brown claims that an impeccable source tipped her off about this very specific piece of info. According to Brown, aides will deliver the news on either June 3 or 4 and a wedding will follow in November.

Tina writes on her Daily Beast blog: “A high-placed source in royal circles tells me that two days in June have been mysteriously blocked out on the palace diaries – June 3 and 4. They suggest this is a likely date for the engagement announcement at last of the 27-year-old Prince William and his patient squeeze, 28-year-old Kate Middleton.”

“If so, a wedding itself would probably follow in November, like the wedding of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, who married at Westminster Abbey that cold, damp November day in 1947.”

This gives a new meaning to the phrase: “Til The Cops Come Knocking….” Gary Dourdan didn’t get his ass whooped by his girlfriend Maria Asis del Alamo as previously charged. Interestingly enough, the couple claims that they were just getting it in…rather loudly, we might add….when neighbors mistook their screams of passion for a knockdown dragout and called the cops.

Filming is set to begin in Chicago, Illinois in May.

Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood has scored its best premiere yet.

The current season of the Oxygen reality series — which follows Hollywood socialite Tori Spelling, husband Dean McDermott and their two children on a cross-country road trip — scored its best season premiere among total viewers when it premiered on Monday night. About 816,000 tuned in for the season opener, up 7 percent from the audience that watched last year’s Season 4 premiere.

In related news, the former 90210 star and her spouse are adding the title of wedding planners to their resume – the couple will be organizing couples’ dream weddings for a new reality show. Tori & Dean: Weddings will follow the pair as they plan lavish bashes for brides and grooms.

“Our new pilot (is) Tori & Dean: Weddings. My party planning skills and Dean’s take it to the wall attitude, we plan UR DREAM wedding,” Tori Tweeted Tuesday.

No premiere date has been set for the new show.

Jessica Simpson is going where few celebrities have gone before: fresh-faced and unairbrushed on the cover of a best-selling magazine.

The “Sweetest Sin” singer will appear on the cover of the May issue of Marie Claire with no retouching or makeup as part of her continuing campaign to encourage American women to embrace their natural beauty. It’s a concept featured prominently on Jessica’s VH1 docuseries, The Price of Beauty, and for the May issue of Marie Claire, the star went to the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles with her best friend and hairdresser Ken Paves to interview women on what feature of their body they loved most.

The issue hits newsstands Tuesday.

Nicole Scherzinger hit out at the blogosphere on Tuesday, issuing a furious denial of any romance with her Dancing With The Stars partner Derek Hough. The stunning bombshell insists she is “in love and committed” to her boyfriend, race car driver Lewis Hamilton.

The Pussycat Dolls star has been teamed with the professional dancer while she competes on the 10th season of the TV talent contest, but the pair has been hit with speculation they have grown a bit too close over the last few weeks. American Chopper has been saved from the Graveyard of TV Shows Past……TLC is reviving its veteran biker-themed franchise after pulling the plug on the show earlier this year.

The canceled series ran for six seasons — first on Discovery Channel, then on TLC — with its supposed final episode airing Feb. 11, b ut the network has made a deal for another round with the entire Teutul clan that fronts the series, set at motorcycle builder Orange County Choppers in Upstate New York, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The new show will play up the long-running feud between the Teutul men. American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior, premiering in August, focuses both on the original Orange County Choppers business run by Paul Sr., and Paul Jr.’s startup bike shop, Paul Jr. Designs.

Eighties pop queen Cyndi Lauper — a longtime advocate for the LGBTQ community — is planning to open a shelter for disenfranchised gay teens in Harlem.

Lauper’s True Colors Residence will open its doors next winter, taking in gay, bisexual, and transgender young people between 18 and 24 who have been disowned by their families due to their sexuality. The center will contain 30 studio apartments, a library, a computer room and communal space. Residents will pay rent according to their income.

“Kids are coming out in greater numbers as they see themselves accepted and represented on TV and in movies, but they’re still being kicked out of their homes or running away and living on the streets. We need to make sure we’re taking care of them….”

Former Off-Broadway singer and NYC subway powerhouse Alice Tan Ridley — who just happens to be the mother of Oscar-nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe — is all set to perform in front of the judges after successfully clearing Round One of NBC’s summer series America’s Got Talent:

“I have received an e-mail from the producers of the show and I have to appear before the judges in April. It’s a big break for me and I would like to follow in Susan Boyle’s footsteps and become a star in my own right.”

The respiratory infection that posponed the start of the European leg of Whitney Houston’s “Nothing But Love Tour” has landed the pop diva in a Paris hospital. Houston has been hospitalized in the City of Lights suffering from nose and throat problems, a member of her entourage said on Wednesday.

The 46-year-old “Comeback Kid” canceled the first concert of her UK tour in Paris on Tuesday due to illness — and now Whitney has pulled out of tomorrow’s show in Manchester, England, a member of her entourage told The Associated Press Wednesday. In fact, Houston’s out of commission for the rest of the week.

Whitney had been due to perform in the UK on April 8 and 9, but the gigs have been rescheduled for June 16 and 17. Houston is next set to perform on April 11 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The source says the “Million Dollar Bill” singer is being treated in The American Hospital in Paris for “chronic rhinopharyngitis (a swelling of the mucus membranes in the nose and pharynx) and an infection whose cause has not been identified.”

Singing soul legend Lionel Richie wants his pop superstar friends, who include Tina Turner and Rihanna, to perform at the upcoming wedding of his daughter Nicole and Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden.

Nicole, 28, and Good Charlotte rocker Joel, 31 — who announced their engagement in January — have two children together and have already started planning a wedding ceremony for later this year. The “Easy” star is planning to invite a host of musicians to the nupitals. Among those expected to attend are Tina Turner, Rihanna, 50 Cent, and Leona Lewis. Lionel also intends to serenade the newlyweds himself.

“All of the biggest names in music are getting an invite. Lionel is asking some to sing. He wants the reception to be a big concert,” a tipster told Britain’s Heat Magazine this week.

For the third week in a row, Kate Gosselin and her partner Tony Dovolani avoided the guillotine on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. The couple survived the Bottom Two after turning in a giggle-inducing paso doble to Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” on last night’s show. The Bottom Three at the end of Tuesday night’s Results Show looked like this: Buzz Aldrin, former Bachelor Jake Pavelka, and Kate.

Ultimately it was the beloved American hero who got the boot. America said goodbye to Aldrin, legendary spaceman, and his partner Ashly Costa. Aldrin, now in his early ’80s, took the news in stride, saying he was glad to have been on the show to put a focus on the space program.

“I’m interested also in having the public be thankful for the great success we had in the Apollo program and look forward to even greater successes in our future space program,” he said. “That’s why I came on board — to take the challenge and take the risk and I thank everyone who voted for us.”
