Demi Moore wasn’t joking when she decided to devote her online celebrity to putting an end to child slavery: The Indecent Proposal star took socialite Kim Kardashian to task on Twitter this weekend after the reality star
“>TwitPic’d an image with the caption “Big Pimpin,’” a reference to the 2001 Jay-Z song of the same name.

The phrase struck a nerve with Demi, who blasted Kim for “glorifying” the pimp culture and its objectification of women.

The discussion over Kim’s choice of words started after she posted the picture up, which was taken at the launch of Kelly Rowland’s new charity, I Heart My Girlfriends, which will serve as an interactive support system for teenage girls.

Demi took offense, asking her, “Are you using the word ‘pimpin’ as in pimping?”

Kim swiftly replied with: “Doesn’t everyone? LOL…”

“No disrespect I love a girls night out but a pimp and pimping is nothing more than a slave owner!” Demi fumed.

One of Demi’s followers attempted to temper the feud, saying: “She may have meant it in the ‘NEW AGE LINGO’ – as in ‘pimpin’ = Cool?”

In fact, a number of Twitter followers suggested that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians beauty probably used the term in a slang, non-offensive sort of way, but Demi was steadfast in her stance that lingo is not one to joke around with: “It’s not her! we have allowed it 2 B considered cool, but it still is what its!”

“Good point!I agree! It was just a song not literal….” Kim Tweeted simply on the controversy.

Kourtney Kardashian’s boyfriend and baby daddy Scott Disick has landed a gig as a party planner for Miami hotspot MIA at Biscayne.

Disick, an extra on E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, has been busy working as the “VIP and nightlife marketing director” at the restaurant/lounge for the past three months, according to insiders.

“It’s going great. He’s actually very intelligent, very business savvy and very aware of what he does, which came as a shock to a lot of us,” says one company spy.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kim Zolciak has an ingenious piece of advice for Sandra Bullock, who is embroiled in the middle of a cheating scandal with her mechanic husband Jesse James: cut his nats off.

Kim — who recently admitted she’s bisexual and is involved with lesbian DJ Tracy Young — doesn’t know the actress, but that hasn’t stopped the reality star from extending her support to Sandra. “She should cut his whole package off. Light it like a fire cracker and blow it off,” Kim remarked as she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday. “She’s an angel I don’t know her personally but it sucks. It’s heartbreaking,” Kim added. “Cut his (bleep) off. She should cut his (bleeps) off and his (bleep). And she should blow it up.”

Broadway’s been anything but kind to “Little Miss Sunshine.”

Abigail Breslin’s Broadway revival of The Miracle Worker is set to close next month, after it failed to win over critics and audiences.

The revival of William Gibson’s play about a young deaf and blind Helen Keller, played by Breslin, and her instructor, played by Alison Pill, has earned mixed reviews since it debuted on the Great White Way earlier this year.

“Surely this production, the first revival of The Miracle Worker to come to Broadway, could have highlighted the play’s strengths more effectively… (director) Ms Whoriskey’s production never finds its focus,” one critic wrote.

In fact, the show has been troubled even before its debut. Last winter, several advocates for people with disabilities protested Breslin’s casting, arguing that producers had failed to give a deaf and/or blind actress the opportunity to audition for the role of Keller.

The Miracle Worker will close April 4, according to The New York Times. The production marked the Broadway debut for Breslin, now 13, who was nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award for the 2006 box office hit Little Miss Sunshine.

Hollywood couple Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have launched a new campaign to put an end to child slavery in the earthquake-ravaged island of Haiti.

The spouses are joining forces to voice their concerns over the country’s restavec System, in which a child is sent to work as a domestic servant for another family in exchange for support.

The couple told Mashable.com that they believe restavec is slavery by a different name.

Demi and Ashton argue that the system prevents young people from accessing education and experiencing their childhood, and have used their Demi & Ashton Foundation to sponsor a pledge to encourage members at a United Nations meeting on Wednesday to donate to Haiti and call for a ban against the restavec System.

The Kutchers will put their massive online following to good use by convincing donors to Haitian relief that some of the $11 billion in aid should go towards banning the restavec system. They see the effort as, “the first steps to a better and more just society.”

If you woke up this morning hoping to tap into your inner diva with your daily dose of Beyonce on YouTube, you may have to wait a while. Beyonce’s YouTube page has been temporarily blocked by Sony Music Entertainment on “copyright grounds.”

“The video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment which has blocked it on copyright grounds,” EOnline.com quoted a message replaced by Sony on Beyonce’s YouTube page.

The action comes on the heels of a copyright infringement issue involving Beyonce’s label.

The page now reads: “This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.”

Oscar winner Angelina Jolie is “keen” on teaming up with Disney producers for a dark revival of the animated classic Sleeping Beauty.

Jolie is turning to the dark side – she’s in talks to cast a spell on the Disney princess. According to The Los Angeles Times, Angelina “would like to sign on to play the titular villain” in Maleficent, a live action remake capturing the perspective of the villainous fairy godmother.

Tim Burton, who recently teamed up with Disney for this spring’s box office hit Alice in Wonderland, is being courted to direct the feature.

Jolie is currently shooting The Tourist with Burton’s frequent collaborator and Alice In Wonderland star Johnny Depp.

David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston have gone from former Friends co-stars to former friends after Jennifer snubbed David’s fiancée in an interview.

Ruth Merrill, the mother of The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member Danielle Staub, passed away on March 21 after suffering a stroke in her home in Athens, Pennsylvania. The 75-year-old makes a few cameo appearances on the upcoming second season of the Bravo series, which debuts May 3, nonetheless a grief-stricken Danielle says none of her costars on the popular reality hit (Dina, Caroline, Teresa, Jacquelyn) have contacted her to offer their condolences.

“We know how they feel about me,” a bitter Staub spat through her tears in an interview with PEOPLE.com on Sunday night.. “They weren’t my friends before the show, they weren’t friends with me on the show, and they won’t be friends with me when the show has come and gone. I don’t expect them to reach out to me. I would actually be shocked. I would prefer not to have people be fake around me.”

Danielle, a Franklin Lakes, NJ socialite, has been famously feuding with her Real Housewives co-stars ever since her past as a drug-addicted former stripper and police informant was exposed during the show’s explosive first season. Tonight though, Staub is remembering the woman she called “Mom.”

Hours before the 7 PM ceremony, Frankel — the 39-year-old author of The Skinnygirl Dish — donned a white sweatsuit with the word “Bride” beaded across the back and smiled as she posed for the snapping glare of the cameras.

Frankel and Hoppy announced their engagement last October. The couple met at a nightclub in New York City in November 2008.

Bethenny’s big day was captured by Bravo cameras, for the network’s upcoming unscripted spinoff, Bethenny’s Getting Married. The series is expected to debut sometime this summer. Bravo reportedly picked up the tab for the ceremony, which cost a reported $200,000, while Frankel admitted that she had been given her Amsale wedding dress.

Bethenny — a natural foods chief and New York Times best-selling author — is expecting the couple’s first child. The baby is due in June.

The “I Kissed A Girl” singer smooched Justin’s cheek and posted a snapshot of the moment on her Twitter page Sunday — much to the chagrin of Bieber-Holics.

It was an embarrassing set for pop princess Fergie in Kansas City, Missouri last Wednesday night: The Black Eyed Peas singer fell smack on her well-toned booty during a live show.

In a video uploaded to YouTube late last week, the singer is caught taking a tumble after slipping on stage during a performance of “Let’s Get It Started.” Just like a true performer, Fergie barely missed a beat, hopping back up and continuing with the song.

The boom of 3D movies continued to dominate the box office as How to Train Your Dragon breathed fire and ended up top of the heap at theaters this weekend. The DreamWorks animated film (which features voiceover work by America Ferrera, Gerard Butler, and late night host Craig Ferguson) took in $43.3 million at the domestic box office in its debut weekend.

In recent months, the 3D movies Alice in Wonderland and Avatar have dominated the charts. In fact, the 3D boom is largely responsible for the increase in movie ticket prices. Theaters across the country are hoping to cash in on the litany of high-tech flicks headed to screens this summer. Another major 3D movie, Clash of the Titans, starring Avatar’s Sam Worthington, is due out this week.

Lourdes Leon’s getting her big break: Madonna has cast her oldest daughter in the period piece she’s directing about Britain’s King Edward VIII and his romance with American divorcee Wallis Simpson, The Sun reported Saturday.

Madonna is set to start shooting the movie, entitled W.E., in London this summer. Scottish actor Ewan Mcgregor has reportedly been roped in to play the British monarch, and Madge reportedly also wants her daughter Lourdes, 13, to take part in the film.

“She’s arranged a small role for Lourdes,” an insider allegedly snitched to reporters. “It’s not a significant part but it will give her a good taste of life in the movie business. Lourdes has made it clear she wants some kind of career in the entertainment industry, and her mum is more than happy to help.”

The spy added, “She’s already an incredible dancer, thanks to years of classes, and she’s also been having singing training.”

It is a change of heart for the Material Mom, who in 2007 refused to let Lourdes star in a Harry Potter film after she was offered a role. Madge also snubbed an offer to have her lookalike daughter appear alongside Queen Latifah and Dakota Fanning in 2008’s The Secret Lives of Bees.

Uma Thurman’s new film is a record flop in the UK…and that’s putting it mildly.

Motherhood — which sees the former Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction ass-kicker as a stressed-out New York mother — took in an embarrassing $131 in its opening weekend in the UK, making the movie one of the most commercially unsuccessful features in the history of British cinema, The Guardian reported on Friday.

Damn, I’ve got dresses that cost more than that! There’s no special effects, explosions, or giant blue creatures– of course it flopped! Sadly, to make money in modern-day Hollywood, you must appeal to the lowest denominator — the people. Hence all the remakes we’ve been hearing about lately. Good luck packing theaters when you actually decide to create something that taps into your creativity expression.

Producers had limited the film’s UK release on March 5 to just one cinema in London’s West End in the hope the film could create a positive word-of-mouth campaign — a la last year’s horror epic Paranormal Activity, an independent flick made on the cheap, which topped the box office after fans sung its praises on Twitter.com.

The promo tactic failed miserably — obviously. An estimated 11 people turned out to see Motherhood; only one moviegoer checked out the feature last Sunday! Americans weren’t crazy about the comedy-drama either. Despite costing a reported $5.5 million to make, Motherhood (featuring Minnie Driver and ER’s Anthony Edwards) grossed little over $100,000 in the US last year.

The flop has baffled English critics, who are pondering just what’s caused Thurman’s once shining, Academy Award-nominated star to flicker out.

Critic Barry Norman, told The Guardian: “This is not some small, independent movie. It’s astonishing that only about 11 people could be bothered to go and see Uma Thurman.”

Everyone from Russell Brand to VS Angels showed up to rub elbows and pop bubbly at the bash — but there was one Hollywood hellraiser who found herself on the wrong side of the velvet rope: actress Lindsay Lohan.

The Mean Girls star was allegedly banned from entering the club for the star-studded event.

“As soon as she strolled up to the door, the rope was quickly pulled in front of her. She tried to pass the big bodyguard but he blocked her way. The security guys weren’t having it and escorted her to the exit,” says one spywitness.

This is the second time in a week that Lindsay has been dissed on the Hollywood party scene. Lohan was left fuming outside the same LA club after the bouncers refused to let her into a private party at the venue on March 18.

Miley Cyrus says she’s no fan of Canadian cutie Justin Bieber.

“Bieber fever … I’m not necessarily a fan. I don’t listen to that kind of music,” the Disney songstress told MTV News at Thursday night’s red carpet Hollywood premiere of her new movie The Last Song. “I like Kurt Cobain. [He] is like my dream boyfriend.”

Apparently the feeling is mutual: The newly-crowned teen king just isn’t that into Miley either.

During a recent interview with New York’s Z100 last month, Bieber, 16, was asked if he had a crush on 17-year-old Cyrus.

“Noooooooo! Not my type,” he retorted before quickly adding, “She’s cool. She’s nice.”

While Miley may not be interested in the “Baby” hitmaker’s signature sound, he’s already won the heart of another Cyrus woman: “….My little sister was obsessed with him, and he actually gave her a shout-out on Twitter,” she said. “And I thought that was really sweet. So I was like, ‘Thank you so much. That meant a lot too.’ … He called her a cutie, and I haven’t stopped hearing about it.”

That was quick: Chloe Sevigny is back-peddling on negative remarks she made about the fourth season of her popular TV series in an interview with The AV Club.

Sevigny — who stars as a fundamentalist Mormon on the hit HBO drama Big Love — raised eyebrows this week after she publicly declared the show’s past season a big pile of caca during a chat with The Onion’s Arts & Entertainment newsletter. Chloe told the site that she was left disappointed with the writing of the latest episodes and felt that the show’s storylines had become too “far-fetched!”

“It was awful this season, as far as I’m concerned. I’m not allowed to say that! It was very telenovela. I feel like it kind of got away from itself. The whole political campaign seemed to me very farfetched. I mean, I love the show, I love my character, I love the writing, but I felt like they were really pushing it this last season,” she said, openly sharing her thoughts on the current state of the show.

It now appears Sevigny may have been reprimanded for her scathing comments by her bosses at HBO. On Friday, Sevigny apologized for the interview which takes her own show to task.

“I feel pretty terrible,” the actress told Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello after her remarks went viral on Thursday. “I feel like what I said was taken out of context. I wasn’t thinking about what I was saying,” she explained. “I was in Austin [at the SXSW festival] and really exhausted… I love the show. I think it’s the greatest show on television.”

Sevigny won a Golden Globe earlier this year for her role as Nicolette Grant, one of the wives of Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton).
