New legislation introduced in the Statehouse last week would allow concealed-carry licensees to concealed carry in restaurants. Senate Bill 239, introduced by Sen. Tim Schaffer, R-Lancaster, and Sen. Shannon Jones, R-Springboro, also would remove restrictions on how handguns can be carried in a vehicle.

On Tuesday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m., the Maryland Senate Education, Health and Environmental Affairs Committee will hear Senate Bill 978, a bill to expand Sunday hunting in Maryland. SB978 would authorize a person in Talbot County to hunt deer on private property with a bow and arrow on the last three Sundays in October and the second Sunday in November.

House Bill 1094 was defeated in the State House Judiciary Committee by a 6-5 vote on Monday, March 15. Sponsored by State Representative Cory Gardner (R-63), HB1094 would have extended Colorado’s self-defense law to places of business.
