On the hunt for some sizzling songs to provide the sexy soundtrack to your Valentine’s Day? Billboard’s got it covered — The Music Bible released a list of the “50 Sexiest Songs” on Thursday. “Based on popularity, subject matter, and chart position,” Olivia Newton-John’s 1981 single “Physical” has been dubbed the hottest track to ever hit the airwaves.
I’d question how “Physical” (A pop classic, of course…..) managed to edge out the Art of Noise’s “Moments In Love” as the world’s “Sexiest Song,” but I’m more confused by the fact that Lil Wayne’s ringtone anthem “Lollipop” came in at No. 12……
Olivia’s “Physical” was followed by Rod Stewart’s 1976 track “Tonight’s The Night.” Actually, Rod managed to get two of his singles listed in the Top 10 — his 1979 hit “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” landed at No. 10. Madonna also made the Top 10, coming in at No. 8 with 1984’s “Like A Virgin.”
Other tracks and artists that made the Top 50 include Cassie’s “Me & U” (No. 48), Wham! with “I Want Your Sex” (No. 46), Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love To You” (No. 3), Marvin Gaye’s 1983 pantydropper “Let’s Get It On (No. 4),” Def Leppard brought us “Pour Some Sugar On Me” (No. 37), and “She Bop” by Cyndi Lauper finished at No. 49.
