  • Billboard Brands Olivia Newton-John’s “Physical” Is The “Sexiest Song Of All Time”

On the hunt for some sizzling songs to provide the sexy soundtrack to your Valentine’s Day? Billboard’s got it covered — The Music Bible released a list of the “50 Sexiest Songs” on Thursday. “Based on popularity, subject matter, and chart position,” Olivia Newton-John’s 1981 single “Physical” has been dubbed the hottest track to ever hit the airwaves.

I’d question how “Physical” (A pop classic, of course…..) managed to edge out the Art of Noise’s “Moments In Love” as the world’s “Sexiest Song,” but I’m more confused by the fact that Lil Wayne’s ringtone anthem “Lollipop” came in at No. 12……

Olivia’s “Physical” was followed by Rod Stewart’s 1976 track “Tonight’s The Night.” Actually, Rod managed to get two of his singles listed in the Top 10 — his 1979 hit “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” landed at No. 10. Madonna also made the Top 10, coming in at No. 8 with 1984’s “Like A Virgin.”

Other tracks and artists that made the Top 50 include Cassie’s “Me & U” (No. 48), Wham! with “I Want Your Sex” (No. 46), Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love To You” (No. 3), Marvin Gaye’s 1983 pantydropper “Let’s Get It On (No. 4),” Def Leppard brought us “Pour Some Sugar On Me” (No. 37), and “She Bop” by Cyndi Lauper finished at No. 49.

In his first performance ever at the White House, folk legend Bob Dylan performed his classic “The Times, They are A-Changin” during The Obamas’ White House concert, which airs on PBS stations nationwide tonight, Feb. 11 @ 8 PM ET.

  • Ellen DeGeneres Boosts “Idol” Ratings

American Idol’s newest judge have the show a boost in the ratings on her debut night, it was reported Wednesday.

Successful talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, who has taken over for Paula Abdul on the singing competition, was widely praised by media following her debut on Tuesday’s Idol — and viewers seem to agree. The show’s ratings were up 12 percent from the previous week, with 27.7 million viewers tuning in to see Ellen critique the contestants during the treacherous Hollywood Week.

  • Alexander McQueen Dead After Suspected Suicide

English fashion designer Alexander McQueen — who dressed celebrities like Adam Lambert, Amanda Bynes, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Michelle Tratchtenberg — was found dead in his London home early Thursday. Authorities say the style icon — famous for his use of tartan and tiny skulls on the runway — committed suicide.

Alexander was reportedly found hanged and police have said his death will “not be treated as suspicious.”

McQueen’s office confirmed news of his death in statement Thursday: “On behalf of Lee McQueen’s family, Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand, has been found dead at his home. At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee’s family….Lee’s family has asked for privacy in order to come to terms with this terrible news and we hope the media will respect this.”

The company’s communications director, Samantha Garrett, says McQueen’s body was found this morning, but she had no further information on how the designer died.

McQueen’s death comes just days before the start of London Fashion Week and weeks before he was due to unveil his new collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 9. One of his contemporary lines, McQ, was to be shown at New York Fashion Week Thursday afternoon. Despite his thriving career in design, Alexander had been struggling with the death of his beloved mother earlier this month. McQueen also never fully recovered from the suicide of his mentor, Isabella Bow, who helped the fashionista become a star before taking her own life three years ago.

Alexander McQueen was 40 years old. May he rest in peace…..

  • Alec Baldwin Hospitalized After Threatening To “Take Pills?”

Alec Baldwin was taken to a Manhattan hospital early Thursday morning, but the actor’s rep insists the 30 Rock star is doing fine.

WNBC News reports that a caller believed to be Baldwin’s 14-year-old daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger, Ireland, dialed 911 saying the 51-year-old actor was unresponsive. An official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly, told The Associated Press that Baldwin and his daughter had argued and the teen retaliated by telling authorities that her father threatened to take pills.

Alec’s publicist issued a statement calling it “a misunderstanding on one person’s part,” adding that “Alec was quickly released from the hospital. He’s completely fine and [he] will be at work today.”

Baldwin spoke with police when they arrived at his Central Park West apartment and he was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital where he was examined and released an hour later. Baldwin — who plays Jack Donaghy on the hit NBC sitcom — is slated to co-host the Academy Awards with Steve Martin on March 7.

  • Evander Holyfield Wife, Candi Holyfield, Accuses Boxer Of Abuse

Evander Holyfield’s wife, Candi Calvana Smith Holyfield, is seeking a temporary protective order against her husband after accusing the boxing legend of regularly beating her.

Candi says Evander’s abuse began six months into their marriage, when she was pregnant with the couple’s first child nearly six years ago. The couple wed on Candi’s 24th birthday, July 1, 2003, and have two children, ages 6 and 4.) Now 30, Candi’s had enough of the alleged battery and is asking an Atlanta court to keep Evander away from her.

The Atlanta Constitution-Journal writes: “…Candi Holyfield accuses her husband of hitting her in the face, the back of her head, and on her back during the middle of the night, according to the petition for temporary protective order…”

Candi claims that during a verbal spat last week Holyfield urged her to “put god first in her life” before striking her in the face. In the restraining order, she also clams that Holyfield has been physical with her in the presence of the couple’s young children:

“In 2008 he choked me in front of our daughter and house keeper. In 2009 he has hit me in front of the children. He has grabbed me in front of the children. A couple of weeks ago he threw a bottle of water at me.”

Richard Lugner, a 77-year-old shopping mall owner who invites a different famous girl to accompany him to the gala in his private box each year, told The Austria Press Agency on Thursday that Lohan couldn’t make it. The announcement comes just hours before the start of the extravaganza for Austrian socialites, dignitaries, and politicians.

Since divorcing his third wife in 2007, Richard has paid Paris Hilton, Nicollette Sheridan, Dita Von Teese, and more recently Lindsay, to be his annual date for the ball.

  • Parents Television Council Disturbed By Stern On “Idol” Rumors

Kara and Ellen aren’t the only entertainment notables having a cow over rumors that American Idol producers are courting shock jock Howard Stern as a replacement for British mogul Simon Cowell. The Parents Television Council (PTC) wants some straight talk from FOX about whether or not they intend to put Stern on the judging panel.

In a statement issued Wednesday morning, PTC President Tim Winter blasted the network for not putting the kibosh on the Stern rumors:

“Given American Idol’s extreme popularity with family audiences, I hope that Fox will put the rumors to rest and announce that it has no intention of adding to the show one of the most profane, sexually-explicit and anti-family performers in the history of the broadcast medium – either as a guest or as a judge.”

Late last year, The PTC also took The CW to task over a threesome-themed episode that aired on the network’s teen drama Gossip Girl last fall.

  • Amanda Bynes Dumped By Mystery Boyfriend

It’ll be a lonely Valentine’s Day for Amanda Bynes. The What A Girl Wants star has been dumped by her mystery lover just days before the most romantic night of the year.

For the past few weeks, Amanda has been regularly updating her Twitter account with hints about the new man in her life, revealing he is a popular musician of color – but refusing to disclose his name. She prompted speculation that said Mystery Man could be Toronto rap sensation Drake or hip-hop mogul 50 Cent after posting a message which divulged that her boyfriend had lost out at the recent Grammy Awards. Other gossips linked Bynes to rapper/actor Kid Cudi.

In a series of posts on her Twitter page early Thursday, Amanda confessed that the short-lived romance ended this week: “If something doesn’t work out with the guy I like, then I guess it just wasn’t meant to be! You can’t FORCE relationships/love. If it’s meant to be, it will be!” the 23-year-old Tweeted.

“Oh well! It was fun while it lasted. I’m over it. It’s a good thing I never said his name so I can pretend like it never happened! I will just block him out of my memory!” she added, before later posting: “Love is like a puzzle. When ur in love, all the pieces fit but when ur heart gets broken, it takes a while to get everything back together…..”

Sad times for Amanda, but its quite possible that she scared the poor guy off with all that excessive Tweeting about true love and wedding bells. That kind of chat in the early stages of a relationship is like kryptonite to a man. Christ, she was beginning to remind me of Kathy Bates in Misery…..

  • John Mayer Crying On Stage In Wake Of Playboy Interview Backlash

Oh John Mayer, we know you’re prone to idiotic comments, but you’ve really outdone yourself this time. The musician broke down on stage in Nashville last night over criticism from his interview with the March issue of Playboy. Over the last 24 hours, Mayer has managed to spread douchebaggery far and wide by spurting off offensive language (he used the N-word) and revealing waaay too much about his sex life with Jessica Simpson — who he disrespectfully describes as “addictive sexual napalm.”

(Um, John, napalm isn’t a drug. It’s a flammable liquid used in chemical warfare, but I digress…..)

It appears the debate over his controversial remarks is beginning to get the better of Mayer. E! News gossip boxes claim a choked-up John got emotional over the debacle during a guitar solo in the Hometown of Country-Western Wednesday night.

The musician stunned the audience at Nashville’s Sommet Center by halting the show mid-song and tearfully vowing to curb his comments to the press.

“I quit the media game. I’m out. I’m done,” John announced, his voice cracking as he spoke. “I just want to play my guitar…..I decided I would try to be as clever as possible all the time, and I did that at the expense of people that I love and that feels absolutely terrible.”

  • Even Madonna Isn’t Welcome At Marc Jacobs’ Fall Fashion Show

Marc Jacobs’ New York Fall Fashion Week Show will be a Celeb-Free Zone. Marc Jacobs’ business partner, Robert Duffy tells Style.com that they won’t be welcoming any celebrities at this month’s show because famous folks are “boring.”

“We’re not going to have celebrities. Last season we had two celebrities that showed up. One because Lady Gaga was doing our after-party, and she didn’t even make it to her seat because we started the show before she got there. And one was Madonna. She came backstage, and I was like, ‘What do you do with her now?’’ Marc Duffy — business partner of designer and Louis Vuitton Creative Director Marc Jacobs — told Style.com this week.

“Because it’s not like she was invited. She just called and said she was coming, and we weren’t holding the show for her. She just came and that was it. There’s certain things I can’t control, but we used to have all the celebrities and people there, and I think that at that moment in time that’s what people loved. It generated so much press and at a certain point it was like, ‘Did anybody actually watch the show?’”

  • Ellen Will Leave “American Idol” If Howard Stern Is Hired To Replace Simon

Howard Stern would be happy to replace Simon Cowell on the American Idol judging panel — if program bosses promise to pay him enough — but Idol panelist Kara DioGuardi isn’t the only series judge that feels casting the notorious shock jock would be grave mistake.

The Chicago Sun-Times claims freshman A.I. expert Ellen DeGeneres has threatened to leave the series if Stern joins the team.

The paper writes: “According to a veteran ‘Idol’ staffer, ‘Ellen has told just about anyone who will listen that she’s totally opposed to the [Stern] idea,” making it clear if he is hired, she’d leave the show……’”

But Ellen may not have to worry about packing up her dressing room just yet, because a Fox executive says the chances of Howard being hired are next to nil.

“The Stern thing makes for good chatter, but is such a remote possibility, I can’t see it ever happening — at least in this life,” the exec said.

Last month, music mogul Simon revealed he is leaving the TV talent show to launch an American version of The X Factor. Since then, there has been much speculation about who will fill his spot on Idol.

  • Alec Baldwin Hospitalized

Alec Baldwin was rushed to a New York City hospital overnight after his 14-year-old daughter called 911 in fear for the actor’s life.

Ireland Baldwin summoned an ambulance to the star’s Manhattan home late Wednesday by telling emergency dispatchers that her dad was “unresponsive” and needed medical attention, the Big Apple’s WNBC News reports. When police and medics arrived at Baldwin’s Central Park West apartment, he agreed to taken to the hospital.

The Emmy-winning star of NBC’s 30 Rock was examined at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he remained for about an hour before being released early Thursday. It is not known why Baldwin, 51, was taken to hospital. Baldwin is due to host the 2010 Academy Awards with Steve Martin on March 7.

Through the magic of 3-D, I’ll be dancing over yours!”

  • Peter Andre Livid Over Katie Price’s Made Up Pic Of Two-Year-Old

Katie “Jordan” Price has really ticked Peter Andre off this time. The British glamour model has infuriated her former husband by dressing the couple’s two-year-old daughter up in makeup and then allowing a picture of her to be posted on Facebook.

Can you say Pedo Field Day?

The photo of little Princess Tiaamii wearing eye shadow, false eyelashes, and lip gloss appeared on the Facebook page of Katie’s sister this week, sparking outrage from the tyke’s dad — with whom Katie shares custody.

“Peter totally disagrees with anything like this……He has said in the past he hates Kate colouring Junior’s hair and straightening Princess,’” says a rep for the singer.
